The next day, Krystal went to work with eyebags evident on her face due to the lack of sleep. When she saw the other employees, she just bowed slightly

but got ignored. She could still hear them gossiping about what happened yesterday.

''Oh, isn't that the new girl?''

''She looks tired.''

''Serves her right. Let's continue doing what we did to her yesterday.''

''Even if she didn't cheat on Boss, I wouldn't even want to be friends with her, look at how rude she looks.''

Krystal ruffled her hair in frustration. This is an office, couldn't people be more professional? She felt like it was high school all over again, when she got

bullied everyday for years. She was just trying her best to ignore what all the other people were saying when Naeun came over to her. Her presence made

everyone gasp and worry. What if she got hurt by the new girl? What if the girl who cheated on their boss started her plan to get him back by hurting the

one he loves? They could all just sit there, mouths wide open. Naeun, on the other hand, heard the whispers among the workers and knew that Krystal

had arrived. She smirked and walked towards her. As she neared, the smirk on her face disappeared and it turned into ''concern''.

''Oh my gosh, Krystal shi, why do you look so tired? Are you sick? '' She spoke in a loud voice to make everyone hear it. Krystal rolled her eyes as the

rest began to gush about how nice Naeun was being, risking her safety because she was worried about the . She had her hand on Krystal's forehead

and her brows were creased in worry but unfrotunately, Krystal didn't buy it. She swatted her hand away and coldly replied,

''Go away, you don't have to pretend.'' Before the other girl could reply, a lady stood up to her defense.

''Hey you, you are just a new employee. Naeun here is your senior. Don't you think you are being a bit rude? Not to mention the fact that you are only

here because you want Boss's money. I think a cheater like you shouldn't be here at all.'' She scolded. The rest muttered in agreement.

''Look, I am here because I have my own reasons. And you guys have no business in what I do. Unless you know why I left him, I kindly ask of you not to

spread useless rumors. Thank you.'' She smiled and continued to do her own work, leaving the lady shocked. She was holding the back of her neck and

moved towards Krystal to reprimand her once again when Naeun stopped her.

''It's okay, she has a point. I just wanted to know if she was okay though.'' She pouted. The lady melted at her appearance.

''Poor girl, next time, don't mind people like her okay? You might get hurt.'' 

''Yes...'' She smiled at the lady and before leaving, she gave Krystal one last smirk. However, since she had a reputation for being nice and angelic, it 

looked like a smile to everyone else. Krystal shook her head, wondering why everyone couldn't see through her acts. She worked quietly, receiving more

and more work each minute. She accepted it without complaint. Lunch time came by and others grabbed their valuables, along with their coats and

headed out. Some went out of the buliding to eat while others just went to the cafeteria. Krystal wasn't planning to eat, but she saw a group of familiar 

people passing her so she took her phone and wallet, then chased after them.

''Wait!'' The group of men turned around. Their eyes widened when they saw who it was but it soon turned into an icy glare.

''Ugh,I think you guys might remember me, I was Kai's girlfriend-''

''You mean the one who ran off with some other dude and is now back for his money? Yeah we remember a like you.'' A guy, whom Krystal

recognised as Chen, scorned.

''I didn't technically run off with someone.'' She mumbled sadly.

''What was that? Oh wait, we shouldn't waste our break talking to someone like you.'' Suho, one of the guys that were really close to her before, said. 

There were 11 of them, excluding Kai, who was too busy to eat. All of them turned around but Krystal stopped them once again.

''Wait, please. I need your help. I still love Jongin you see, I never stopped loving him. And I need your help to get him back.'' She pleaded. 

''Aww, how sweet. But no thank you. We don't want our friend to get hurt again. Let him go, he is engaged to a woman much better than you. A woman

who makes him happy. Now, if you will excuse us, we need to eat.'' Kris glared at her and walked off. The rest followed. Krystal was so busy looking

at the floor, trying to conceal the tears that were threatening to fall, that she didn't notice one of the guys looking at her with a worried look before walking

off. She went back to her seat, having lost her appetite. Kris's words rang in her mind. Did she really have no chance already? Was Naeun really the one

for him? She needed to talk to someone. Someone who helped her get through the tough time. She ran to the bathroom and dialed the person.

''Mom...'' She said in english. Or should I say, croaked in english. Her mother, the one who gave her strength when she was so heartbroken that she had

to leave Kai, got shocked when she heard her baby crying.

''Why, what's wrong honey?'' She replied in english.

''I don't know how to get him back. H-His friends hate m-me, and the rest of the workers do too. They all think I cheated on him.'' After saying that, she 

broke into uncontrollable sobs. 

''Don't give up honey. You don't deserve this. You can do this.''

''H-He is engaged mom. What am I going to do?'' This time, there was so much desperation in her voice that it broke her mother's heart.

''Oh, honey. I'm so sorry. Do you want me to get you there? Or do you strongly believe that the girl he's about to marry is not the one for him?''

''She's not the one.''

''Okay, then you have to try harder. I suggest you tell him the truth, but it's up to you.''

''Okay mom. Thanks. I love you.'' She hung up. She dried her tears and went out of the bathroom.She decided to talk to Kai by going to his office. Just

as she was about to knock, the door opened. Kai looked at her, surprised.

''Can we talk Jongin ah?'' 

''There is nothing to say.'' He pushed her aside but this time, Krystal was determined. She pulled him back in.

''No, I have to say something. I need you to hear me out. Please.''

''Fine. '' He sat down and avoided looking at Krystal.

''I didn't cheat on you.There is a reason why I left.''

''What is it?''

''I can't tell you.'' 

''If you can't tell me, that must mean that you did cheat on me. ''

''I didn't Jongin . I really didn't.'' She was crying again. The sight of her made Kai's heart ache a little. 

''I don't believe you. Get out.''

''Why don't you believe me? You got angry without even knowing the real reason why! Don't you even think about how I felt?! Now everyone, everyone hates

me. They think I am a .'' She sobbed.

''Because you are. You are a and you always have been.'' He said coldly. He went out, leaving Krystal standing there, chest heaving up and down.

What he said made her heart break even more. She breathed in and sighed. She can't give up. If he doesn't want to take her back because he thinks

Naeun is the one, then she has to take Naeun away from him. She went out of his office and sat back down on her seat. She picked up her pen but

stopped midway. She was something that shocked her. It was a sandwich with a handwritten note.

Eat this. I know you haven't eaten yet.
