Kai was sitting in between Krystal and Sehun while preventing Krystal from getting any contact with any of the boys. 

He was so busy doing that, that he didn't even notice his own girlfriend gone. It was only until Tao spoke up and

asked,

''Where's Naeun?'' All of them looked around.

''She's in the bathroom. I wonder why she's taking so long.'' Jessica informed them.

''I'll go see if she's alright.'' Kai immediately stood up and went upstairs. Krystal sighed. So he still cares for her. Kai

walked past Krystal bedroom and stopped. He slowly turned around. The door was left ajar. He went and saw Naeun

clutching a book and a piece of paper in her hands. 

''Naeun ah, what are you doing in Soojung's room? And what is that book in your hands?'' He questioned.

''Kai...'' Naeun was acting suspicious. She looked so shocked when she saw him, like she was doing something she

was not supposed to do.

''Naeun... show me those things.''

''I can't. It's nothing. Just full of rubbish.'' Naeun lied.

''So if it's full of rubbish, why don't you show me?''

''I-I can't! If I show you, you are going to leave me for sure! I can't lose you Kai!'' Naeun was getting hysterical. The people

downstairs looked up in alarm and quickly rushed to the scene. There , they saw Naeun, face streamed with tears and makeup,

crouching on the floor and Kai was just standing there.

''Jongin ah, what's going on? Why is Naeun crying? And why is she holding on to Soojungie's diary?'' Jessica asked Kai.

''I wanted to read it, but then she started crying and telling me that I would leave her if I did.'' Kai shrugged. Jessica gave a knowing

look to Krystal, who was panicking. If Kai read it, it would ruin his love for his grandmother. It would make him angry at his parents,

for doing nothing when she was suffering. She absolutely didn't want to let him read it, but Jessica's look had spelled,

'It's time to let him know.' So she kept quiet.

''Well, Jongin, if you really want to read it, feel free to do so.'' Jessica sighed.

Kai took the book from the crying girl and with shaky hands, he opened it. Coincidentally, it opened to the very last entry. As he

read on, his jaw clenched and he sent looks to Krystal every once in a while. He didn't know what to feel. He felt betrayed, hurt,

angry. Why didn't she tell him? He could have helped her instead of suffering for the past few years without knowing what

had really happened. He read the letter too. 

''J-Jongin, I'm really sorry I didn't tell you, I didn't want to worry you.''

''So you decided to leave and hurt me instead.'' Kai's voice came out cold and hard. He pushed through Krystal and the crowd then went down.

The door slammed. Suho walked over to Krystal who was left in a daze.

''It's okay Soojung. He was probably just shocked.''

''But, what really happened?'' Kris shot a question.

''Wow, that was unexpected. I had always thought that she cheated.'' Tao commented after Jessica told them the story of events.

Krystal was just sitting there, in a corner and not moving. She did not expect his reaction to be like that. She knew that he would be

angry, but not at her. She didn't do anything wrong. If she had told him, then he would have told Miyeon not to do it. Then they wouldn't

have any money to pay for their mother's treatment. She stood up. If Kai had left because he didn't want to hear her explaination, she

would just go over to his house. And so she did. She went out to look for him while the rest talked to Naeun, who practically knew

that Kai would break up with her.

''Jongin ah, open the door please.'' Krystal knocked on Kai's door. 

''Can't you just go away? I don't really want to talk to anyone right now.'' Okay, Kai was acting like a hormonal teenager who thought

that everything had gone wrong just because of one simple thing of finding out the truth.

''Hey, I deserve a chance to explain everything. It's really cold out here and I'm not going to go anywhere until you open this door.''

A determined Krystal spoke. Inside, Kai sighed and looked at the door. He didn't want to see her, but he knew that Krystal was a 

woman of her words and he didn't want her to get sick. He stood up and shuffled his feet to the door.

''Good. I knew you would open it.'' She smiled. Kai just stared at her for a while before going back to the living room. Krystal took this 

as a signal to follow him in. She closed the door and sat down opposite Kai.

''Jongin ah, I'm really sorry I didn't tell you. I knew that I could tell you but my mother really needed the money.'' She aopologised sadly.

''Didn't you think that I would get hurt too?''

''I thought that you would get hurt because I left withou-''

''Didn't you think about how I would feel?'' He cut her off. Krystal stared at him sadly.

''You were suffering while I was here, hating you because I assumed that you cheated. Don't you know how hurt I was to find out that

you weren't being treated well?'' This time, Kai looked straight into the girl's eyes. Krystal was speechless. She didn't think that he cared

about her that much. When she did not respond, Kai continued.

''I'm not angry at you. I'm not angry at my family. Okay, maybe a bit. But mostly I'm angry at myself. I didn't get to protect you and to

think, I got into a relationship with another lady to forget about you. And what were you doing? You were in another country, suffering.

Come here.'' He tapped the space beside him, motioning for her to sit down. She hesitantly walked over and sat down. Was he going to scold

her? Tell her mean things? She didn't know what to expect. All she knew was that he was not going to do something nice. So imagine her 

surprise when he suddenly faces her and hugs her. He had one of his hands on her hair, it while the other was wrapped around her

waist. Krystal felt at ease for the first time in years. Indeed, his hugs always made her feel better. And vice versa.

''I'm sorry Soojung ah. I shouldn't have assumed things.''

''I am actually glad that you know the truth now.''

''You came back to make me fall for you right?'' Kai broke the hug and smirked at her. She nodded.

''How do you think you did? Did you succeed or did you fail?''

''I don't know...''

''You succeeded big time Soojung. You stole my heart twice.'' 

Then, for the first time in a long time, Kai initiated a kiss.
