Rina is what one would call a wallflower during her teenage years. People tend to overlook her, or look right pass her. She is the type of girl that observes everything, from how someone walks to how they eat or nibble their food. She liked being on the sidelines and thinking of scenarios in her head, while Jay was the complete opposite. He stuck out like a sore thumb and due to his uniqueness, he drew in the girls. He was a certified chick magnet. It wasn't just his good looks, but his unbelievably long list of talents that made him one. From playing the piano to composing music to coming up with new dance steps, Jay could practically do it all. They were like yin and yang to everyone's eyes, but at the same time not. People thought they were opposites, yes, but refuse to accept that they were a couple.

Late half of Junior Year.

Rina was at the school's gym late at night again, waiting for Jay to finish showering. It was the school's big basketball game against the rival school. Their school team had won thanks to Jay's three point buzz beater. Jay was the MVP of the team, the star of the school. Rina was there to cheer him on, but it seemed like the cheerleaders took much of his attention too. Rina was getting impatient waiting for Jay to finish up. Everyone else had left except for them two and the janitor. The janitor was about to get the basketball when Rina had a thought.

“Excuse me!” she yelled which shocked the worker

“Yes?”

“Is it okay if I make some shots first?” she asked

“Sure,” the janitor chest passed the ball to her

“Thank you,” she bowed.

Rina walked to the free throw line and dribbled.

“You got this,” she encouraged herself.

She took a deep breath and took a shot. Swoosh. She ran to the ball and made a few more shots.

“You're basically Kobe Bryant!” it was Jay leaning against the doorway that led to the boys' shower room

“Female Kobe Bryant,” Rina smirked before taking a few steps back to make a three point shot

“I didn't know you could shoot that well,” Jay approached her

“I'm a pro, didn't you know?”

“But you always lose to me,”

“That's just me letting you win,” Rina aggressively chest passed the ball to Jay

“Ouch,” he flinched

“Didn't want to hurt the big boy's feelings,” Rina made fun of him

“Sure you didn't.”

He was now a basketball's length away from her.

“You would have lose this game if I was your opponent,” continued Rina

“I think you're good, but not that good, Rina”

“But you just said earlier I was Kobe Bryant and hey, Kobe Bryant is beast,” Rina tilted her head to the right a little

“Which I cannot deny or else you'd beat me up, even though Lebron James is my boy,” he put the ball down and kicked it lightly for it to roll towards the janitor's direction.

When the janitor got the ball, he left as if on Jay's command

“Well what are you saying?”

“You're good and I'm good,” Jay inched closer and put his hands on her waist

“Seems like you're saying you're better,” Rina took a step back, with a bit of irritation in her voice

“Are we really going to fight about this?” Jay sighed

“Who said we were fighting?”

“You're mad,”

“I'm not mad,”

“Yes, you are,”

“Why would I be mad?”

“Because you think I'm saying I am better than you,”

“But that is what you are thinking,”

“Okay, okay, I'm sorry,”

“Just because I'm a girl does not mean I cannot play well,” Rina rolled her eyes and turned her back on Jay.

She went to the bench to get her bag.

“Geez, every time, every time,” Rina kept mumbling, “Why do I even watch him play? He just gets so full of himself,”

“Rina, I'm sorry, hey, babe,” he ran to her and hugged her from the behind

She kept quiet.

“I'm sorry if I was being ist or said anything that offended you,”

“You know I hate that,” she pulled away from him, “I know you're good at what you do, Jay. Hell, you're good at like everything, but basketball is also something I'm good at. Just because I am a girl does not mean you can belittle my skills,”

“Babe, I'm sorry. Let's not fight. I just won the game.”

There it is, the one letter word, I, Rina said in her head.

“I mean, our school team,” he corrected himself

Chapter 11: Well, I had thought it would be best for me to comment on this story as a whole rather than scattered my thoughts in several comments, but I just wanted to leave this comment since I'm halfway through your story:

I have to be honest. It took me over six chapters to get into your story, but I kept reading it to give you the benefit of the doubt. The several time-jumps made Jay's and Rina's lives feel like a rush, so it was difficult to enjoy these characters.

But then . . . the breakup came and a wave of emotions hit me. Great job! Up to that point, your story wasn't exactly boring, per say, but it wasn't exciting, if you get what I mean. But that's OKAY! Because your story has a nice sophistication to it :)

I think you definitely established Rina's personality and views and I'm looking forward to seeing how things go with Donghae/Damien :) I shall anticipate the future character development!

Chapter 14: Awww, jay. I know most of us have moments where we decide things we thought we want but eventually regret it in the end. I'm just worried that he would be too late if rina accepts damian's confession. I don't know whom to side anymore :(
