Butterflies
More Than Romance | HIATUSRina was sound asleep when Donghae arrived at her flat with the help of Yoobin. Donghae no longer had to stay in Korea and booked an earlier flight to Italy without Rina knowing. He only informed Yoobin in order to surprise Rina.
“Thanks, Binnie,” he thanked her in a hushed tone
“She's knocked out,” Yoobin told him, “I made her play Just Dance with me all night,”
“What? And I missed it? Did you video her?”
Yoobin placed her hand on Donghae's mouth to hush him.
“Damian, you don't want to wake her up now, do you?”
He shook his head as a response and so she lowered her hand.
“Of course, I took a video. Why would you even think I didn't? It's a rare chance,” Yoobin chuckled lightly, “She's so shy to play it when you're around but in reality, she loves that game,”
“Send it to me,” Donghae took out his phone
“Eh, later. Let me go sleep again. You do what you need to do. I got you in,”
“Sleepy head,”
“It's four in the morning. Angels are still sleeping at this time,”
“Go, before she moves and finds you missing and looks for you,” he shooed her away
“You have two hours, buddy. You know that girl wakes up at 6AM sharp,” Yoobin told him before walking back to Rina's room.
Donghae missed Rina terribly while he was in Korea. He even hallucinated that she was there in his uncle's wedding. He knows in his heart that Rina must have missed him as much. Their last phone call was what made him come back early, and Yoobin's constant prying.
– Flashback –
The much awaited wedding day of his closest uncle was finally coming to an end. Visitors were leaving the reception, one by one. Only close family members were left behind, with the addition of the wedding clean up crew. The newly weds were still at the dance floor, slow dancing to I Do by 98°. Donghae felt a fuzzy feeling in his heart as he watched the couple dance. The look on their faces were priceless. Donghae glanced at his cellphone screen, admiring his background wallpaper of a picture of his photo booth strip with Rina. They were making silly faces in most of them, and even hugging in one of the photos.
“Just friends, my ,” his brother sat by him
Before Donghae could talk back, his phone began to vibrate with an unknown number calling.
“Hello,” he greeted
“Donghae?” a soft voiced female spoke
Donghae broke out in a big grin.
“That seems like a sign for me to leave,” his brother stood up and messed Donghae's hair up before leaving
“Rina,” he said her name gently
“Hey you,” he could picture her smiling as she spoke
“Is that Damian?” he could hear Yoobin in the background
“Yes,” Rina answered her, “Sorry about that,” she apologized to Donghae
“Hey, it's okay,”
“How are you?” you could hear the concern in Rina's voice
“I'm good, but kind of lonely. And uh, we're still at the reception,”
“Oh? Am I bothering you? Should I hang up?”
“No, please don't. I'm glad you called, and it's already ending,”
“Why, uh, why are you lonely?”
“Everyone here has a partner,” he answered honestly
