More Than Romance | HIATUSThe snowflakes were slowly falling outside of young Rina's house. She desperately wanted to go out to play, but her grandmother was too cold to watch over her outside. As a result, young Rina sulked by the window. Her eyes followed the two brothers chasing each other. They were enjoying the snow day while their parents watched from their patio. It was going to be another white Christmas without Rina's parents around.
“God, let there be a Christmas miracle,” Rina prayed.

Rina grew up in a lonely household, being the only child of a couple that is the epitome of successful workaholics. Rina's mother, Song Maeri, is one of the top realtors in the country while her father, Song Seungo is a cardiologist. They were the most envied couple in the block, but Rina would rather name the Kwons as the best married couple. Rina grew up watching how active the Kwons were in their kids' lives, Jay and Jun. So when Rina got the chance to befriend one of them at school, she took it.
“Is this seat taken?” Rina asked Jay
“Nope,” he cheerily replied
“May I sit here?”
“Sure thing,” Jay removed his backpack from the seat
“Thanks,” Rina placed her tray on the table
“So how's your first day of high school Song?”
Rina was shocked by Jay's start for a conversation.
“It was not eventful,” she answered
“Same,” he slouched
“I didn't think you'd know me,”
“How can I not? You're the Song kid! Every kid in the block wants to be you or at least live your life,” Jay was getting excited
“But why?”
“Are you kidding?”
“No,”
“You are rich. Your parents are barely around. Need I say more?”
“I can get the first reason, the second one, I can't,” Rina said as she took a bite of her grilled cheese sandwich
“I wish my parents were, at least,” Jay leaned his head back on the chair
“But your parents are great,”
“That's because they're not your parents that you can say that,” he closed his eyes, “They always want to know everything,”
“It means they care,”
“You don't sound like a teenager,” Jay looked at her
“Is that bad?” Rina put her food down
“No,” he paused, “I like it,” he smiled
Rina was once again shocked by Jay's character, but did not show it. She continued to munch on her sandwich.
