Mystery Girl / Yonghwa Fights, She Interferes
Forbidden Kiss
[ A/N: Remember, you’re reading Mystery Girl’s First Person POV (; ]
“What do you mean they challenged us?”
Taecyeon’s roaring voice dragged me back to consciousness as I shook off the remaining tendrils of sleep. His enraged face made his ears turn bright red, a funny sight to see upon waking up.
“What’s going on?” I yawned, not at all surprised at being the only girl in the room surrounded by guys.
I’m seventeen. I’ll be eighteen soon. My mom disowned me a while ago and I’m currently living on my own under the protection of my dad.
I attend Seoul High, a prestigious academy in South Korea. I’m the jjang of the school. And the guys that are around me right now are my friends and the other members of my school’s gang.
We’re not one of those gangs. Not at all. We keep the peace in the area. Other schools fear us to the point where if we simply show up at a fight, peace instantly erupts between the opposing schools. We’re a very well respected and reputable gang.
And we rarely get seriously involved in the silly drama between idiotic gangs. They’re a waste of our time.
But today, apparently, a high school challenged us so severely that Taecyeon is now pissed. Heck, he’s beyond pissed. He’s absolutely livid. And his large ears are absolutely red.
“They didn’t challenge us directly,” Wooyoung sighed. “They said that their jjang was the best fighter in all of South Korea and this idiot here took that as an insult,” he tilted his head toward the still-fuming Taecyeon.
“We are not fighting a school because they said that,” I rolled my eyes. “Any better news for me?”
“Not better as in good news, but better as in more relevant,” Junsu announced. “Seorim High’s fighting Raegae High tonight. And Raegae High is known for being extremely nasty.”
“Seorim High! Those are the punks who dared to insult us-”
“We’re stopping that fight,” I calmly interjected.
“Why?” Taecyeon stopped his ranting long enough to throw me a puzzled look.
Wooyoung hit him on his head rather harshly. “Those are the kids we always help.”
“Ah! That’s right! Every time we mention Seorim High, Jjang over here always helps them,” Taecyeon hopped over to me and placed his hands on my lap. “Why do we always help them? They probably don’t even know that they’ve received help from us, too!”
“They don’t know. Or at least, they’re not supposed to know. And I want to keep it that way,” I sighed. “When’s the fight at?”
“Six O’clock at the river,” Wooyoung checked his phone. “We have just enough time to arrive early to scope out the area.”
“Let’s go,” I waved my hand. The boys swung up onto their motorcycles as I waited for them, already on mine.
Soon we were drawing near the area and we parked a couple blocks away, not wanting to draw unwanted attention toward us. Fanning out over the site, we stayed in contact though our phones.
I was the first to discover the Raegae students and watched with disapproval as they commenced hiding several weapons inside the warehouse. They disappeared behind into a nearby restaurant, most likely waiting for Seorim to be the “first” to arrive. Taking the opportunity, I snuck within and began removing the weapons, grimacing with disgust at each one I found. These were truly nasty boys and they were the ones who gave gangs a bad name.
After tossing them all aside, I slipped outside and saw that my boys did the same. Yanking on my black head cover that I always wore when we intercepted Seorim’s fights, I reached for my necklace. I touched it and let a silent sigh escape my lips. Only my tied-up-in-a-ponytail hair, large glowing eyes, and mouth were showing.
I came here at first on behalf of Seorim. Now I had my own business I needed to deal with Raegae. I was not about to let these bastards get away with attempting to use weapons, especially on Seorim High.
Why am I so attached to Seorim High?
I suppose I know that answer already and it can be summed up in one word: Yonghwa.
He didn’t know who I was, but I knew who he was.
And no, I wasn’t one of those crazy fangirls of his.
Because if I was, I wouldn’t be sneaking around saving his the way I was.
No, he needed to be unaware of my existence.
Sure enough, Seorim arrived and Raegae arrived soon after, strutting through the front entrance looking like retarded peacocks. The fighting started and I kept a constant eye on the two warring schools, making sure that things didn’t get out of hand. My boys waited for my signal. It came sooner than expected.
