The first day of school passed quickly enough with the students repeatedly introducing ourselves to the different teachers that entered the classroom throughout the day.

By the third lesson, I could already remember the names of the classmates sitting around me.

My desk mate was a chatty and friendly girl named Se Kyung. Because of our talkativeness, one of the teachers had raised her voice at us. When I apologized for implicating her, she shook her head and grinned. 

As lessons ended early on the first day of school, I roamed the campus for a good 2 hours and noted all the secret hiding spots down (so that if classes get too boring I have somewhere to go).

I entered the General Office at 4.30p.m.
 

“School service? Ah, Oh Sun Hee student. Aren’t you supposed to report at 5p.m.?” The admin staff looked confused.

“Ha ha….. I err, feel extremely guilty for my wrong doings… So I decided to start earlier to show my sincerity.” I feel extremely guilty for stealing Mr Nice man’s excuse... So I came earlier to show my sincerity in avoiding him…

Even the thought of him made me nervous now. I must be so guilty I am going crazy.

The admin staff seemed very touched by my actions, “Student, it is very good that you show so much remorse. Our school is just stricter when it comes to uniforms and students’ images.  Alright, both of you can collect the cleaning items from the storeroom. Since it’s the first day of school, I’ll just let you two clean your respective classes.”

I was repeatedly nodding my head to express my gratitude for her leniency when I realized,

“What do you mean two of you?” I came alone!

“She meant you and me.”

I turned around slowly, and, despite knowing who I was going to see, my heart still skipped a beat when he came into my vision.

Oh Se Hun, who entered the G.O at I-don’t-know-when, was standing a few steps away from me, expressionless.
