There are many things Baekhyun loves about working at Samsung Medical Center. The place is great and beautiful inside, modern art lining the walls and clean benches and couches for all those waiting to be checked in somewhere or waiting to see their loved ones upstairs. There’s always somebody playing on the grand piano in the main lobby, and it’s usually the beautiful Taeyeon who works upstairs when it’s her break and there are a lot of people waiting downstairs.   Even the cafeteria is pretty. It doesn’t even look like it’s part of a hospital. If anything, the cafeteria makes the whole building look like it’s some part of a shopping center instead, having large glass windows wherever space allows to fill in the area with daylight while there are delicate lamp pieces hanging off of the walls and ceilings to provide light when it turns dark outside. And the food! Baekhyun thinks as he practically salivates at the cheeseburger being cooked for him by one of the cafeteria men. He thinks the food is the best part.   There might not be anything healthy in this cafeteria, what with all the burgers, fried chicken, and desserts being served along with the many variations of drinks, but that means nothing when you’re being treated in the hospital anyways. Baekhyun even gets a discount because he works there, if not for free when he can manage to talk his way into signing whichever ER doctor’s name who is working for the day since they’re the only ones who are able to get ‘free’ food around here.   But if there is one thing he doesn’t love about working at Samsung Medical Center, it’s working with his best friend slash ex-lover Park Chanyeol. It’s a love-hate relationship type of thing, he swears.       When Baekhyun gets back from the cafeteria, he raises a brow at seeing Minseok standing there, waving his EMS sheet lazily back and forth across the back of Chanyeol’s head as he’s hunched over busily texting someone on his phone. Jongin is nowhere in sight, but he grins impishly when Minseok mouths ‘Probably Kyungsoo’ across the station towards him.   “So, you’re back,” Baekhyun opens up as he plucks the bottled drinks from his large scrubs pockets and puts them on the counter where his computer is back-to-back from Chanyeol’s, “How many times is it today?”   Minseok laughs. “Are you trying to keep track?”   Baekhyun winks. “Maybe.”   “Your ex here won’t take my report,” Minseok suddenly complains, and it makes Baekhyun laugh this time as Chanyeol doesn’t even budge, “I’ve been standing here for ten minutes already.”   Baekhyun raises a brow. “Is your patient dying?” He looks around the nurses’ station. “Just get Yixing to take the report.”   “Aren’t we dying every day?” Yixing suddenly comments from behind Baekhyun, making both of them yelp at the sudden appearance. He gives them a curious look. “What?”   “Stop doing that!” Baekhyun shouts before eyeing the man’s food in his hands. “Are you taking your break now? Go put Minseok’s patient in the system.”   Yixing gives him a stare before giving Minseok the same look and then simply walking away back to the nurses’ lounge. “The patient looks like he’s just sleeping. Let Chanyeol take care of it.”   “Yixing!” Minseok whines, stomping his feet childishly and it makes Baekhyun warm with affection at the action. And then Minseok slaps the back of Chanyeol’s head and Baekhyun’s warm somewhere else in his body at the action. “Park Chanyeol! Get off your phone before you get fired!”   That snaps Chanyeol out of his little cloud and he quickly turns to face his best friend and point accusingly at him while still gripping his cell phone. “Byun Baekhyun!”   Baekhyun’s brows furrow in his confusion as he stares back at him. “Yeah, Park Chanyeol?”   “You two went out for drinks yesterday?!”   Minseok looks confused. “Who two?”   “Yesterday?” Baekhyun responds back before realization dawns on him and he laughs, holding out Chanyeol’s container of food he got for him, knowing he always forgot to go to the cafeteria before it closed if they were busy, “Food?”   “Baekhyun!” Chanyeol whines, pouting at him, “Why didn’t you invite me to go drinking with you too? I was off yesterday.”   Baekhyun shrugs half-heartedly, putting both his and Chanyeol’s food down on the desk next to their drinks. “I didn’t think of it at the time.”   “Who are we talking about?” Minseok questions again, looking between the two before smacking Chanyeol again. “Take my damn report!”   “Ow! Okay, okay!”   Baekhyun sighs as he sits down in his chair and opens up his container to start eating right there. He takes the plastic utensils and napkins out of his pockets that he realizes too late he doesn’t really need before digging in. “He’s talking about special sunshine Kim Jongdae.”   “Oh?” Minseok says, brows raising curiously before looking back down to Chanyeol who now has a bright smile on his face as he types his patient’s information into the computer. “Huh. Cute.”   “Aren’t they? Jongdae’s really fun to be around. Maybe he’ll push you out for my top best friend.” Baekhyun comments offhandedly before he feels a paperclip being thrown at his head. He frowns when it nearly lands in his food. “What?” he asks, aggravated at being interrupted before seeing old man Jungsu staring at him from his own desk.   “Consult on 21. Get on it.”   “Gramps.”   “Baek,” Jungsu warns as Yunho laughs next to him.   Minseok laughs and they don’t notice Chanyeol’s eyes li
