“So, Jongdae,” Lu Han pipes up at 6:20 AM on a Tuesday morning. It’s their last day of their seven-day streak, and they can’t be any more excited.   “So, Han,” Jongdae mumbles back as he looks through a page for different singing gigs around their area. He hums at seeing a couple prospects before his finger and turning for the next page in the magazine. “What’s up?”   Lu Han stares at his new friend, having acclimated to their environment very quickly, and just leans against his hand propped up on the desk near him. He shifts his gaze to watch as Yifan silently walks by them to go to a different computer to the other side of the nurses’ station to do a last-minute chart before looking back to his friend. “How’s your first seven-day stretch?”   “Hm?” the other hums back, now reading up on an article about weddings and decorations. “You mean after the initial shock of that patient with a stuck up his , a lady being rushed through the ER to get upstairs cause she was in labor, all the drug addicts and their crazy eyeball supposedly moving all over their face, and the weird pair callers calling about or something?”   “Mm,” Lu Han mimics, “Yeah.”   “Yeah,” Jongdae drawls out as he looks over to look at him, “It’s getting interesting. It was a fun stretch.”   “Tired?”   “Exhausted.”   The two share a brief stare before they burst into quiet laughter, Lu Han leaning back into his chair as Jongdae goes back to his magazine he pilfered from a dozing Zitao with his fluffy jacket on and a warm blanket he stole from the utility closet. Lu Han eventually settles back down, just watching his new friend as he hears shuffling coming up to the desk. He looks over his shoulder to see Chanyeol walking in with a beanie, jacket, and his backpack. He opens his mouth to say ‘Good morning’ but opts to keep his mouth shut as the man instantly walks through the entrance of the station between him and Jongdae and looks over the latter’s shoulder.   “Already having ideas about the wedding?”   Lu Han’s mouth drops at what slips out of Chanyeol’s mouth, voice deep and husky from just waking up, and since he knows Chanyeol oh so well, the idiot didn’t think before he spoke. Jongdae jumps in his seat at the sound, spinning to look up at a sleepy Chanyeol, and Lu Han’s never seen the man blush that much before.   “What?” Jongdae squeaks out, staring up at the other nurse.   “What?” Chanyeol echoes back, looking down at him sleepy and confused.   Lu Han can see the rapid thinking process of Jongdae working in slow motion in front of him.
