Baekhyun finally meets Chanyeol’s ex girlfriend and a pot of jealousy spills
Love Songs with Baekhyun
B was for Baekhyun and B stood for nothing but the best. Therefore when Baekhyun’s eyelashes fluttered apart this morning, he immediately felt the need for a change of name. Something that starts with the letter F preferably, because he felt like a complete failure. Or the letter U works too, for unlucky. Because he was not just late for his boyfriend’s book launch, he was running extremely late.
And that thought alone was appalling for Baekhyun because Chanyeol had been considerate enough to leave him alone the night before, saying that if he were to visit during the show, the duo would probably end up going home late which was usually the truth. Baekhyun had headed home straight after his show and spent a few hours piecing together his outfit for the event, which was special considering how he had always deemed himself pretty fashionable and whatever he wore, he would rock it anyway. Now he wished he hadn’t because somehow his best friend flat mate seemed to have thought it was okay to claim the impeccable outfit for the day while he was sound asleep.
‘You were going to wear this outfit? But you never ever put together outfits beforehand! I’m so sorry, B.’
‘I swear I’m going to kill you, Luhan! You better tell Sehun how much you love him right now while you still have the chance because I will murder you when I see you tonight!’
Now Baekhyun wished he hadn’t wasted his precious minutes on that angry phone call when he could have picked a better outfit instead. At least he could’ve worn a leather jacket instead of this military-inspired one. And maybe some eyeliner while he was at it. ‘If only I didn’t oversleep. Damn!’ pouting miserably as he attempted to fix his hair in the backseat of the cab, Baekhyun ignored the curious side glances the cabby was throwing him as he scooped a dollop of styling putty and ran his fingers through his messy bed hair.
If there was anything to be thankful for, it was for the smooth traffic and how near his apartment was to the mall. Now all he had to do was to sprint his way up the escalators to the biggest bookstore in Seoul. Sure, it left Baekhyun extremely breathless but at least he made it on time. Taking in deep breaths in order to pacify his racing heart, he took the longest strides his legs could make towards the elevated platform with a gigantic image of Chanyeol as the backdrop. The corner of his lips automatically twitched up into a grin as he spots a hair of red towering over everyone else and he was about to call out to his boyfriend until he saw what Chanyeol was wearing. And then Baekhyun froze.
‘Goddamnit. Nobody told me I was supposed to come in a suit. Chanyeol didn’t tell me he was wearing a suit! Where am I going to find a suit now?!’ Baekhyun’s mind raced frantically as his legs moved on their accord, taking him towards the direction of the exit to the bookstore. Nope, no such luck. “Baek!” Chanyeol’s voice boomed even over the excited chatters of his fans and Baekhyun had to stop with all the attention on him. “I’ve been waiting for you!” a crowd immediately parted to form a path for Chanyeol to walk towards Baekhyun. ‘Oh my God.’ Chanyeol looked so dashing in his suit with hair pushed back that Baekhyun thought he might start hyperventilating in public and that would really be the end of his image but thankfully Chanyeol enveloped him into his safe arms. “I thought you might have overslept from working so late and I was going to push back the time of the fan sign but you actually made it in time. Thank you, Baek.” Chanyeol pulled apart just slightly so that he could flash his signature smile at Baekhyun. Now Baekhyun really did feel miserable. He was a terrible boyfriend who overslept (although he made it in time) and he didn’t even bring a gift with him (although he did spot his flower wreath at the entrance of the bookstore when he entered but still!). What good has he even done to deserve Chanyeol?
“Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend novelist Park Chanyeol’s first fan sign. For everyone who has purchased a copy of his latest novel, Chanyeol would gladly put his autograph on your book cover. Please join the queue and get on the platform in an orderly fashion. We don’t want anyone to be injured!” the moment he took his spot on the side of the platform with microphone in hand, Baekhyun straightened his posture to appear as professional as possible. After all, work before emotions. Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see the glow that was practically radi
