Tao woke up in a cold sweat.
He had the dream again.
It scared him every time.
It begins with him.
He looks young.
He's not in the Compound, so he must be very young.
The dream shows him and a lady.
A nice lady.
Then everything freezes.
The surrounding air grows cold.
The nice lady who is holding him grows cold.
Everything is cold and dark and lifeless.
Frozen.
In his dream he cries.
He's the only one moving.
The nice lady won't move anymore.
He wants her to move.
The shadows grow larger and the air grows colder and the frozen world turns more dead with each passing moment.
He just wants the nice lady to move.
And then he wakes up.
Tao shivers and pulls his blankets closer around him.
He misses Yuri.
They haven't seen her for a 3 days.
The caretakers won't answer any questions.
They only look away, sadly or solemnly.
They haven't been allowed in the rec room for a week.
He misses Yuri.
They all do.
He could feel the tears b in his eyes.
He'll go see Kris-ge.
Kris-ge always made him feel better.
Tao popped off his bed, warm feet hitting the cold floor.
He clutched his panda toy close, burying his chin in the soft fur.
He slowly opens his door and pads out of his room, towards one of the doors nearer to the end of the hall
