Where Love Takes A Plight

Uh... Hiii /awkward smile/

I'm back! Tho, I doubt if any of you guys are even still here after my decade hiatus, but I am back neverthless.

There is a lil surprise by the end of this chapter.

Off ya go!

"So, our development promotion for Gangnam district will mainly focus on The Reiz Royal Condominium first before we finaly start on Reiz Point, the biggest department store in Korea which will have all of the luxurious brands from all over the world. And for further information, The Reiz Condominium is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year while Reiz Point would be by the mid summer next year." Mr. Cho, the head manager of Kim corporation's strategy department finished his explanation with hopeful look on his face as his eyes scanned the all-dressed-in-clad-black-suit men around the meeting table nervously.

"I think I mainly agree witrh the whole point, and finishing the Reiz Point by the next summer would be great idea, since the tourists must be flooding around that season." An almost-blading man from the first row of the right side of the table was the first one to spoke his mind before a series of approval murmur resounding the air around. "What do you think, Mr. Kim?" He then faced the youngest-looking man of the rest's at the far-end, center of the table.

Kim Myungsoo who was actually distracted during the whole presentation, fortunately quick enough to regain his sense and snap back to his professional mode when Mr. Kang, one of the biggest shareholder of the company called his name out.

"Well, I come around with the same idea as well. But I would like to make a few change on the plan though, which is, I want the strategy team to push forward the promotion of Reiz Point along with The Reiz Royal Condominium since I think the department store would be a good climb for the condo's sale and give an actual consideration for the potential buyers. So I think it would be great to promote both around the same time. Also, I would suggest we hold another promotion event with interesting offers and join actively in any upcoming bazaar, so it would expose our project to public more and might be a great chance to show off our advantages compared to our competitor." Myungsoo proposed his thoughts with his usual nonchalant look as the whole room broke into another discussion along with satisfied nods as they talked.

And luckily the rest of the meeting did actually progress in a pretty fast pace than Myungsoo expected, as he did another quick chat with a few of his shareholders on their way out after the meeting was wrapped up. And that was how Myungsoo found himself busily involved about the upcoming business takeover's discussion with his shareholders to finally notice two bulky man, trying make themselves less stand-out among the swarming workers in front of the meeting room, after the older men bidded their goodbyes to him.

"Mr. Kim, boss is expecting you." One of the bulky men which happened to be Myungsoo's father boydguards quietly informed him as they finally stepped onto his face when they noticed the young master is no longer occupied.

Myungsoo was smarter than to decline—not as if he had a chance to since it clearly an order, not a request—and actually cause a scene in his own headquarter office.

"Yes. Yes. I agree Yunho-ssi." Myungsoo's father nodded his head and errupted in joyful laughter a second later after he heard the Kim's and Jung's Corp merger process is halfway done, seeming unable to contain his gleeful face as he spoke with Jung Yunho, the president of Jung's corp as well as Krystal's older brother.

"Ah. I am glad it did went well as we wish." Yunho carried his words carefully before he pointed out another point of why two of the most influential clan in Korea decided to meet beside their merger contract arrangement. "Then, about the Myungsoo-ssi and my sister, Krystal's marriage, should we start discussing the detail?" He asked kindly, making the two called name snapped their head up in shock, since both had been out of it since the start of the whole lunch meeting.

"Of course!" Myungsoo's father chuckled and did actually put an act as a good father who was proud of his son by patting Myungsoo's shoulder in comforting manner, which immediately went stiff under the unusual contact. Myungsoo's mother who witnessed the sudden change of Myungsoo's expression from his side could only frowned and sympathized at her oldest son's unwillingness.

"Alright, allow me to speak on behalf of my father who was currently still unwell and unable to attend today meeting. I would relay a few of his wishes for Krystal's upcoming marriage." Yunho started.

With that, Myungsoo decided to just turn deaf about the whole discussion and opt to glare at Krystal's direction whenever he had chance, feeling betrayed about his faith on the old kind-and-wiseful Krystal-self. It didn't went unnoticed by the latter who seemed to be sending her begging look for Myungsoo's forgiveness whenever their gazes clashed though.

Too busy induced into their competitive glaring contest that they both came to a late realization that the meeting was already over. While their elderly stood up and walked their way out from VVIP room of one of the most famous italian restaurant in town, Myungsoo quickly made his way out followed by Krystal close by.

"Soo-ah, let's talk." Krystal called him with the old nickname, the called man froze on spot before he calmly recollecting himself and decided to ignore his ex. But Krystal was already expecting these reaction therefore she quickly caught his wrist from behind, only to be flung harshly by the latter.

"I know about Lee Sungyeol."

And that one sentence was enough to halt Myungsoo from his departure.

'What?'

Myungsoo snapped his head in lightning speed, unable to hide his stunned expression he had on his face as Krystal gave him a small smile.

"Excuse me! EXCUSE MEEE! OOPS— Sawry." Sungyeol dashed through the crowds and managed to slide his slim body through the almost-closed glass door. And when he finally made it out of the building, he grinned triumphantly on his effort. His eyes immediately sparkled when he saw the sight ahead, a young beautiful man was leaning on his side at the dark blue Maserati while forming a slow smile when their gazes clashed.

"Myungie!" Sungyeol beamed at the other while running at full speed toward the inviting arm.

"Ouch!" A small groan could be heard when Sungyeol crashed onto the firm body, making the taller man looked up from the hug worriedly only to find Myungsoo smiled teasingly at him. Sensing he had been fooled, Sungyeol hit Myungsoo's chest hard—but of course, not hard enough to damage the organs inside though—and this time, earning a real pained face from the hit-receiver.

"Yeollie, that hurts." He complained but Sungyeol only mouthed serve-you-right back at him. Myungsoo chuckled once again before he softly planted a kiss on the top of mad-looking man's forehead and brought both of them inside the car.

The sport car machine roared in life as it splitted the young night to get through the heart of Seoul in no time.

Sungyeol hummed along the sweet tune being played inside the car as he nodded his head in rhythm. The comfortable silence was settled around them since the moment they got into the car before Myungsoo started to nervously look back and forth between the road ahead and Sungyeol's peaceful face as if there was something burdening his mind threatening to roll out of his tongue.

Upon noticing Myungsoo's uneasiness, Sungyeol reached toward Myungsoo's settled hand on the car gear and gave it a few to ease the latter's worries. Realising Sungyeol's intention, Myungsoo managed to relax his tensed shoulder a little and throw Sungyeol a small smile as he brought Sungyeol's hand close to his face and kissed the back of his palm longingly.

"What's wrong?" Sungyeol asked with anxious eyes, but Myungsoo only shook his head weakly and put the taller's slender hand on his cheek.

'Nothing. I just miss you." Myungsoo smiled, once again kissing Sungyeol's knuckles with much care and love to convince the other.

"You sure?"

And to answer the inquiry, the dimpled man nodded and spoke in a heavy tone, as if the word had been long caught in his throat. "Can I ask one thing from you?" Sungyeol answered in a confused 'yes' before Myungsoo went on.

"I want you to trust me. No matter what happened and what you heard in the near future, please believe in me. Have faith on me, Lee Sungyeol."

"Of course, I will." Sungyeol beamed proudly.

"You know," Myungsoo the top of Sungyeol's head softly. "I'm so lucky to have you as my boyfriend."

"I know. That's why take a good care of me, you, Mr. Kim." Sungyeol replied sassily, making Myungsoo laughed boisterously at him, "But, I am luckier, Myungsoo-ah." The last sentence Sungyeol whispered to himself, though it was loud enough to make the latter stopped laughing and grinned at his words.

Since his last meeting with Myungsoo, which was exactly a couple week ago, Sungyeol didn't get the chance to meet his boyfriend again despite how much he missed him, but they did still get in contact with each other, though it wasn't as intense as before. Sungyeol had no idea what was going on between them. He knew for sure that they didn't had a fight before but something was off. It wasn't just because of their busy schedules but more like someone among them was hiding something behind his back. Sungyeol didn't want his prejudice to cost him a crack in his relationship, thus he decided to fill his mind with positivity and have faith on Myungsoo just like how he was being asked the other day.

"I'm home!" Sungyeol called as he removed his shoes and put it aside before he stepped into the living room, only to find all of his family members—dad, mom and even the evil brother, Lee Daeyeol—weirdly gathered around the room, sitting on the sofa with their weird expression.

"Oh, hyung!" Daeyeol was the first one to break out of the trance, quickly turning off the television screen with the remote control in his hand before his older brother could look at it.

"Eh... Er, my son, you're back?" Sungyeol's mom couldn't help but stuttered as if she just saw a ghost instead of her oldest son, while his dad didn't seem better than his wife, looking around everywhere around but his son.

Studying his family's weird expression, Sungyeol shot his accusing stare as he stepped between them and shove his in middle of the rest of the Lee that were occupying the currently cramped sofa. Nonchalantly snatched the remote control from the youngest to turn on the screen, completely ignoring Daeyeol's protest which soon progressing into a scream of horror when he saw the older brother's intention.

"WAIT—"

The wedding has been the headline of our country local newspapers and televisions. As you may have known already, Kim Corp and Jung Entertainment, two of the most gigantic and famous clans in the business industry did not just announced their merger but also their heir and heiress' marriage plan. Congratulation Kim Myungsoo-ssi and Jung Krystal-ssi for the upcoming wedding. We sincerely wish the wedding would go smoothly and well according to the plan

Daeyeol managed to grab the remote control back on his hold when Sungyeol seemed to be distracted by the news and shutted it down in a heartbeat, though he realised it might be too late already. Judging from his older brother's shocked and helpless expression, Daeyeol knew Sungyeol sure wasn't that dumb to not know who the Kim Myungsoo that the news anchor mentioned earlier. Yes, all of the Lee had already knew the fact that the oldest son of the family met the love of his life —when they sent him on a holiday trip to Jeju—who was a young handsome man, instead of a woman that they expected and on top of that the man was no other than the famous Kim Corp's heir, Kim Myungsoo.

Sungyeol didn't seem to take the news well, as he stayed stunned and perplexed the whole time even after a few minutes the screen turned black. His family could only looked him in worries, as they each didn't even believed the news as well when they first saw it earlier.

"Son, I know it's hard for you. It is for us too, But you'd better asked him first before you judged. It might be just another rumour. It's probably not true. So don't just conclude everything by yourself. You need to talk to him first, okay?" Sungyeol's mom adviced wisely, patting and her son's shaking shoulder motherly.

It had been three months passed since the news broke out, but Sungyeol was still unable to contact Myungsoo, even when he tried to come to his office, the receptionist kept telling him that the latter was unavailable either in meeting or been abroad. It was as if his boyfriend disappeared after the news like a fog, and their relationship was never there in the first place. Everything felt so surreal. Sungyeol still had a hard time to believe Myungsoo just dumped him to be with a rich beautiful heiress. Then how about all his promises he had been spouting to him, is it all lies?

"Sungyeol-ah."

"Yeah?"

"I just want you to know." Myungsoo said, smiling brightly at him. "No matter what come in our way, believe me, I will fight them for us."

"I know." Sungyeol cracked a smile.

"Even if the world go against us, I will always find my way to be with you. I promise, no one can break us apart."

"I know." And again Sungyeol broke into a goofy grin at Myungsoo's cheesy words.

"I love you, Lee Sungyeol." Finding the delicate hands of his lover, Myungsoo brought them close to his lips and showered the knuckles with kisses, making Sungyeol laughed giddily.

Sungyeol couldn't help but had a flashback inside his little head upon one of their very first dates. Oh, God! As if reminiscing the memories felt like knives piercing through his skin, Sungyeol felt his eyes started to brim with water.

"Can I ask one thing from you?"

"Yes."

"I want you to trust me. No matter what happened and what you heard in the near future, please believe in me. Have faith on me, Lee Sungyeol."

"Of course, I will."

Sungyeol knew he was only torturing himself by recalling the last meeting before all these chaos happened, but he just couldn't help but clung onto the tiny hope of their sweet promises and memories.

It was today. The day that would be the turning over point for their lives.

Myungsoo stood nervously by the side of the aisle, dressed handsomely in three piece suit clothing, his hair was also styled up to match his posh look today. By the end of the long corridor was an equally good looking woman, Krystal was wearing a white-gold sheath wedding dress which wass hugging her perfect figure greatly. On her side was a middle-aged man with his almost white hair and a kind smile on his face, looking proudly escorting his only daughter to the wedding altar where Myungsoo had been waiting with his unreadable expression.

Loud approuds and whistles could be heard as soon as Krystal walked down the aisle, one of her free hand which wasn't busy holding the pinkish hybrid tea roses while flanking it over his father's, was waving calmly toward the rows of guests that their families had privately invited—since both, she and Myungsoo requested to have only close friends and relatives to their simple wedding party, to avoid any reporters that might be disguising themselves in the crowds.

"Are sure, Krystal-ah?" Before both the daughter and father pair could reach the altar, Mr. Jung's worried tone whispered toward his beautifully grown daughter. Sensing his father's distress, Krystal only sequeezed her father's arm to confirm her decision, making Mr. Jung pulled a warm smile on his wrinkled face. For him, as long as his daughter was happy, he was more than willing to accept every consequence of her choice.

The priest stepped forward when he saw both the bride and groom had take their respective position in front of the wedding altar.

"Shall we begin?" The priest cheerfully asked through the small microphone that was being placed on the wooden platform, but instead of earning a 'yes' or nod from the couple, he was surprised to find both of them suddenly stood by his side and whispered something to his ear.

"Well, before we start, I guess there is something important that the groom and bride might want to inform the guests today. Now, please." The priest stepped aside to let Myungsoo and Krystal occupied his previous position.

Myungsoo was the first one to speak, as he approached the microphone and gave his best dazzling time, "With all due respect, firstly I would like to thank you all to be willing to spare your precious time to attend our wedding." And the crowds gave him another boisterous applause and warm smiles, but Myungsoo continued. "But, I would like to apologize prior to what we are about to announce. I hope it isn't so disappointing to you all."

As if on cue, the pereviously filled with laughters and happy-spirited hall fell in silence, some of the attendances even started to whisper while glancing around their surrounding with confusion.

A few seconds but most excruciating moments had passed but Myungsoo was yet to go on, as if he was trying to absorb the peaceful situation for a little longer before he leashed out the chaos.

"I am sorry but I would like to cut in." Krystal snatched the microphone out of sudden, making a momentary buzzing sound in effect. She was impatient enough to wait for another prolonged second just to reveal the 'news', glancing to her side once again to seek for Myungsoo's approval—which was immediately replied with a small nod and reassuring smile by the later—Krystal finally let the hell break loose.

"We would like to call of the wedding. Yes. It is cancelled." Krystal empahsized the last sentence with much stress as if the first sentence alone wasn't enough.

Flashback on~

"I know about Lee Sungyeol."

That one sentence, more like one particular name was enough to caught Myungsoo off guard and knock him out from his indifferent act toward Krystal. So, that was how they both ended up by the side of Han river.

Krystal was the first one to walk out from the driver seat—Oh yes, it was her who drove all the way down from the restaurant to here, since Myungsoo didn't get a chance to drive by himself to the restaurant after the sudden kidnap operation his father ran earlier—as soon as she parked, bringing a pack of beer along. Myungsoo followed suit not long after and stood awkwardly beside the red McLaren car.

Pop— Chessshhh~

Krystal popped open one among the pack of canned alcohol beverages, the foam immediately bubbled up to the surface making some of the liquor spilled out in process.

"Come and have a drink, Soo." Krystal patted the empty space on her spacious carhood that she sat on and smiled warmly. The called man who had been standing motionless only scoffed before he decided to sit by her right and took another canned beer for himself, as he saw Krystal sipped her drink and sighed. "It's a been a while, right, Soo?"

"Do you remember the last time we were here?" She spoke again, her eyes dreamy as she stared at the sparkling calm river. "We used to be here everytime Mrs. Han gave us detention." Bringing back the old memory of their high school, making her unable to stop her fit of giggles.

Myungsoo couldn't help but smiled as he recalled back the old time, "Yeah. we used to hate her a lot."

"Well, I still do." Krrystal spoke, suprising Myungsoo but she quickly went on. "It just, I still don't get why it is called as a private school when we are not allowed to act as free as we wish. Sure, it's cool with the no dressing code, no strict hairstyle rule and learn only the subject we want. But who the heck invented the no dating reguation. Oh, come on! It's so lame!" Krystal showed off her signature annoyed face as Myungsoo smirked in response. True to her words, she hadn't change at all. She loved to complain and question the things that she should have known better than to against. Well, it was true private school had more freedom than public school. But some private school decided to make some specific rules for each of them. Well, in their school though, there was no dating rule, since it was made under the consideration that dating would only distract and had a high chance decreasing the students' performance in academy which would resulted badly for the school's reputation as the most prestigious school which was only capable creating bright alumnus. As crazy as it sounded, it was true though. That's why they only accept a small percentage of the registrants per year despite so many rich parents wanting their child in.

Murmurs and gasps could be heard from all around the corner of the hall. Correct, looks of disbelief was everywhere except from the Jung clans who just seemed all too cool and nonchalant about the shocking truth that their youngest heiress had just announce. Well it did seem like the Jungs got a head up from Krystal, on the contrary, the Kims was looking lost, especially Myungsoo's father who looked like he was ready to throw hands.

"You go. I will handle it." Krystal spoke softly, only enough for her and Myungsoo's hearing range.

Myungsoo looked at her face with so much doubt—worrying whether it was okay to let his childhood friend handle the whole thing by herself—but he got his answer soon enough when Krystal squinted at him and threw him a questioning look as if he was challenging her capability. Without another thought, Myungsoo broke into a chuckle as he brought Krystal into his arm for a hug and whispered a short 'thank you' to show his gratitude.

1 hours, 10 minutes, and 280,86 miles. Myungsoo finally set his bare foots on the white sands while carrying his pairs of black woven shoes on his side.

He checked the piece of paper Krystal gave to him once more time to make sure the cottage in front of his sight was the one that the latter meant.

The wooden door was opened when Myungsoo stepped closer so he wasted no time to get inside and checked the surrounding. There was a king-sized bed with direct view of the beach, a high twin cupboard, a set of television and minimalistic marble counter with kitchen set. To put it simple, the cottage was cozy and perfect for anyone who need to escape the busy bustling city to get a fresh air. But for Myungsoo it was lacking of something. Something more important.

Myungsoo walked out with a frown on his way after he set his shoes by the door frame.

Minutes passedby quicklly as he wandered in lost train of thought. As he looked up that was when he realised his foots had brought him far astray. But he wasn't exactly strange with the place.

It was—

Click!

A blitz of flash went through his eyes.

"Lee Sungyeol."

There. Right now. At this place. At this moment. Myungsoo found his home, his piece of puzzle and his other half.

THE END

Bonus

Meanwhile in chaotic wedding hall, half of the guests already caused a riot with the loud murmurs about the unforeseen event. On the contrary, Krystal looked perfectly calm as she carried herself toward the Kims—more like Myungsoo's father—who was throwing disbeliefing look toward her.

"What did you just do?" Mr. Kim hissed in the middle of his panic attack, while his wife patiently held him straight and repatedly soothed his back to calm her husband's anger.

"Me?" Krystal pointed at herself and blinked innocently before she let out a small smile, "I am just doing what you are supposed to do, uncle." She was in the middle of her sentence when Yunho came by her side and smiled proudly—yes, Krytal did give a head up to her family about the upcoming scene she was about to causee—as she went on.

"Letting him choose his happiness."

YEAPS! NOW REALLY THE END!
