Nervously retouching her makeup in the driver-seat mirror, Min couldn't help but worry about how people would react. It''s not like she hated high school, but it was an awkward phase for her. She hadn't seen anyone in years after moving away to the city to attend college and pursue a career in dance. She succeeded in doing so but not without a lot of hard work and dedication, and as a result ended up losing touch with all of her friends from back home. And when you were from as small of a town as she was, that really doesn't go well with those you left behind. Even if it wasn't intentional.

What if they thought she became to full of herself? Too snobby? Thought  she was now too good for them? She didn't think those things. In fact, she was always intimidated by a lot of her classmates. But then again, that was part of the problem. Min was one of the few that left and made something of herself, while those that had so much potential stayed local for their own personal reasons. Min was lucky. But there were some that weren't so lucky. And one person in particular came to mind. And at this she couldn't help but begin to stress out, giving a deep exhale and leaning hr head back against the headrest.

She never regretted the decisions she made, but there was a decision that frequently nipped at the back of her mind. A consistent state of doubt that made her question some of her actions. No, she may not have regretted anything, but she did have her doubts. She often wondered 'what if', but in the end never fully gave it too much thought.

A knocking at her window made her jump and she looked over  her shoulder to find her bestfriend and the only person she had managed to keep in contact with. The blonde known as Chaerin Lee, or CL for short. One of the five other people that managed to leave their hometown to pursue a big city career. The only difference was that CL would often come back during vacation while Min had her parents occasionally visit her whenever they could. She just couldn't handle going back. She didn't want any regrets.

"Hey, boothang," CL greeted Min as she came out of the car, whistling upon seeing how she was dressed for the occasion in a gorgeous pale peach high-waisted maxi skirt and a white thin-strapped crop top with gold studs embellishing it's edges. Min playfully rolled her eyes and greeted her bestfriend with a bear hug. "What the hell was taking you so long?" CL asked as soon as they pulled apart, taking one last look at just how drop-dead gorgeous her friend had become. She had even chopped her long dark locks and dyed it blonde.

"I'm questioning whether to go inside," Min answered honestly after closing and locking the car door behind her.

"No. Don't hesitate now," CL urged encouragingly. "We're already here. And one night won't kill you."

"I know. But I can't help it. I'm too nervous."

CL looked at her friend  with a worrisome gaze. "You're not still thinking about that, are you?"

"N-no."  Chaerin was unconvinced. Min sighed. Her lie was obvious. "Of course I am." Then she thought about the reason as to why she hadn't been back home in nearly ten years and winced softly. "What if he still hates me?"

"Min," Her friend started carefully as she rubbed her arms comfortingly. "It's been ten years. You were both kids."

"I left him," Min corrected, her face grave as she said that.

CL shook her head, her feline eyes set on Min's almost shaped orbs. "No. You didn't. You graduated and you went to college. You worked your off to get accepted. To get the scholarships necessary to afford it. You deserved to go and you did. Who the hell is he to make you feel guilty for going after what you love?"

Min bit her bottom lips and quietly voiced, "You didn't know the situation."

"Because you never told me," Chaerin was quick to specify. "And I'm not going to force you to tell me now, either. Just know that you made the right choice. So stop worrying." Min looked down and though Chaerin felt bad she knew that Min knew she was right. They were kids with their whole lives ahead of them. She had nothing to feel sorry about. Nudging Min playfully, CL managed to gather attention and smiled. "Now let's go in. People are gonna talk if we don't show up."

Knowing what CL meant by that she nodded. "Yeah. Okay." The last thing they needed was for people thinking they thought they had become too good for them. And knowing how it was in this town, they were certain people were already thinking that.

Entering their old high school gym, Min and CL were immediately the center of everyone's attention. Back then the two were considered cute but they weren't the type to ever stand out. But now ten years later and things have changed. They looked different, more mature and more beautiful. CL opted for a black long-sleeved mini-dress that complimented her freshly dyed long platinum blonde hair and accentuated her curves. With their attire they were definitely dressed to impress. And impress they did. Though the two weren't exactly considered popular back in their youth, they weren't exactly considered unpopular either. Then again, it was hard not to be known in a school of no more than 400 students. Not that big considering the big cities have schools of over 2000. Then there's the fact that they had all been together since pre-school. But when Min and CL were given an opportunity to leave, they took it, and that's what brought them the attention. They were the ones who managed to get away from small town living.

But it was Min who garnered even more attention. And not all of it was good. Yeah, the men and women, especially the men, were looking with eager eyes, awestruck by her beauty which had only been enhanced along the years. But it was one pair of eyes in particular that had everyone break off into whispers.

Min felt the attention, and didn't like it. This was exactly what she had been afraid of her. But CL was by her side and reminded her by placing a hand against her arm. "It's okay," She whispered and gave Min a nod of encouragement before the two started forward, ignoring it.

"Min! Chae!" Min and CL recognized the voice that called for them and smiled upon seeing one of their close friends, which had also left to college but moved back after finishing her Masters in cooking only two years prior. The slender female with the tan skin and long wavy brown hair wrapped each of them in a hug and couldn't contain her happiness in seeing the dynamic duo.

"Wow, Fei. Looking gorgeous," Min praised as she looked over at her friend, admiring the way her red, vintage cocktail-dress that hugged at her slim waist and then fell loosely above the knee. She was always someone who exuded both class and elegance.

CL shook her head and sighed. "Guess some things never change."

Fei scoffed and then immediately centered her attention on the smaller of the three. "And look
