Chapter 3

Bad Girl: Hawaiian Adventures

"Aish! Tao, act like a proper person for once!"

I was still in daze as I was pulled away from this "Tao" guy, who I could swear was ready to me right there and then. I am pretty, I know, but... come on.

I left my body melt in Kai's arms as he grabbed me on both sides, pulling me closely to his body. Oppa, don't stop...

"How can you attack people you don't know? Gosh, at least learn her name." I furrowed my eyebrows as Kris ruined the moment. "Mirae, this is Tao."

I mentally wanted to slap myself. What were those names? Weren't they all Korean? "I am Chinese." Did he read my-

"I don't read minds..." He started and chuckled as he met my gaze. "I just know how women think." Winking at me, he laughed and bowed. "So you are Mirae?" He grinned as he looked over to Kai. "Bro, how could you not choose this treasure instead of her sister?"

The boys laughed, while Kai sighed and I waited for his answer. I know that it was a joke, but if there was a reason and I learnt it, I doubt that he would stay with her for long...

"Just show Mirae her room and try not to scare her too much." Kai sighed and handed him my luggage. "Mirae, oppa has to go and do some stuff, okay? Your family should return in a couple of hours from their trip." Oh, they went without me? Great, why was I even born?

Unconsciously, my head dropped and the deadliest glare occupied my eyes. Why was I even here?

“Okay, oppa.” I muttered and sighed soundly. Kai ruffled my hair softly and said one last goodbye before going to his car.

“The hotel is my father’s, so don’t worry about a thing!” He waved at us for one last time and opened the door to get in. As I watched him drive off, I couldn’t help thinking that I had made a mistake by coming.

“Was the hotel close?” Kris complained as he dragged his luggage closer to him. Tao sighed and tilted his head to look behind him. “Eh, far enough to make you suffer. Seriously, what’s with the jacket?” Walking to him, he pulled his hoodie, receiving a deadly glare from Kris. “You are in Hawaii, not Forks from Twilight…”

“Ya! Just go, okay? Lead the way!” Kris muttered as he suddenly started walking. Tao chuckled and followed him, dragging my suitcase along the way. I silently followed behind them, trying not to make a noise, hoping that they have forgotten about me.

Oh, how I wish they did.

“You okay?” I looked up, startled, as Chen approached me. Steadying his pace with mine, we synced steps and I instantly felt relieved. I couldn't deny it, I was extremely stressed and Kai's strange friends weren't helping.

I smiled, nodding and returned my gaze to the ground I was walking on. I was far from the mood to talk to someone.

To be honest, I was waiting for them to grab me or kidnap me. At least Tao.

As soon as I got my keys from the hotel, with my room number on them, I almost ran to the elevator, praying that I have lost them in the lobby somewhere. I just desperately needed that shower that I was waiting for almost ten hours.

Along somewhere the fifth floor, the elevator stopped and the doors opened. Assuming that I would be soon in my room, I closed my eyes and cracked a soft smile as I waited the doors to close, so that I could finally go up to the tenth floor.

Ah, I could feel the bathtub waiting for me...

"Perhaps..." I heard a male voice and upon opening my eyes, I met with a familiar face.  As soon as I recognized the man in front of me, I felt as my throat tightened with my body heating up in a split of a second. I was seriously unlucky.

In a flash, all my reckless behavior in the past three years passed through my mind, with his face appearing almost everywhere.

He shouldn't be here.

But then again, neither should I.

"Sehun-ssi..." I instantly bit my lip as I saw him raise his brow. Recognizing every detail of the man who I once knew, I couldn't help but wonder about the irony in my voice and words.

He was looking great. The white shirt that had its first two buttons undone,  the dark blue shorts that accented on his tan and the wheat hat that went along so well with his blond hair. He just looked great.

"What..." He started, but immediately eyed my luggage, giving a soft frown. He stopped and both of us just stayed in silence.

Hearing the door opening, I looked up again, only to drop my gaze again as I almost met his eyes. "I should..." Gathering my luggage in my hands, I dragged it outside, rushing down the hall as I tried to find my room. I almost chuckled at how fate was screaming for me to go back home and never come back.

"It was a one night stand. He proposed it." I assured myself by mumbling out softly, closing the door behind me.  I almost felt relieved until I heard a knock on my door. I knew who it was, but had no wish to verify it.

Upon opening the door, I saw him again, his expression the same as before- confused.

"I don't want any drama." He spoke suddenly and I exhaled sharply. Well, that makes us two. "Me neither." I smiled and watched as he took a hesitant step back. "You keeping a child somewhere that I should know of?"

"Do you?" I asked seriously and titled my head, waiting for his answer.

Laughing out loud, he nodded and met my gaze. "Still haven't changed. Good." He pursued his lips and we both waited for someone to say something.

It was a confusingly awkward moment, we both knew it. Meeting after three years, with our last meeting being in bed was not something we could brag about. Ignoring each other ever since then was also another thing I wasn't proud of. After all, it wasn't a one night stand from the club. No, it was more complicated.

He knew what I was thinking of and he knew that I who I was imagining him to be.

Because for some odd reason, I found resemblance with Kai in him.

And he once made me feel free.

"I have to go, but..." He looked towards the empty hall. Biting his lower lip he sighed and faced me. "Can I say see you around, or?"

Chuckling, I nodded. "See you around, Sehun."

Closing the door after he left, I could feel a slight burden falling from my shoulders. I have always felt guilty towards him, but seeing him smiling there, in front of me,  I couldn't help but think that somehow,  I could feel easier being here.

Hell no, I still wanted to get the out.

Two hours later, I was drying my hair, getting ready for the engagement party, which had to be in around an hour and a half. My mother called to let me know that I could just go to the restaurant once I was ready, since the most important guests, like family and really close friends would be there earlier.

Apparently, Kai's 11 best men were responsible of everything for the party and that would pretty much sum up his circle of friends. I knew oppa was unique, but having not two, not three, but eleven best men?! How did that happen?

Pulling out my black mid tight dress, I sighed. I had to wear such a nice dress to such a disaster. As I put it on, I curled my hair to big and heavy waves, that fell on my shoulder and didn't hesitate in putting on the black eyeliner and red lipstick.

As I mentioned before, I had to look astonishing when I had to meet the dev-my sister. After all, she shouldn't be offended as always by my image.

She was getting married after all, a little less attention from the male audience wouldn't kill her.

She had the one I wanted anyway.

Gathering my strength, I clenched my jaw tight and walked out of the room, hearing as my black heels were angrily hitting the floor. I was dressed for a funeral, not for an engagement.

Sometimes I wonder if I watched too much anime.

Walking to the elevator, I waited for the doors to open, taking the time to repeat to myself to try and be happy. Try and smile. Try and not kill your sister in front of everyone. Yes, honey, you can do it.

As the elevator arrived and the doors opened, I saw Tao leaning on the mirror inside. Upon seeing me, he cracked a creepy smirk and nodded quickly as I entered the little cabin. I gave him a quick smile and turned my back on him as I waited for the elevator to finally get on the goddamned ground floor.

Since the elevator was basically mirrors and railings as walls, I could even see him staring at me every time I glanced at the doors in front of me, who were as well mirrors.

"Aish..."

I glanced at him and saw him smile widely.

"Kai is a fool."

I have no idea why, but the sudden change of the aura around us made me shiver. While he was all happy and creepy earlier when we met,  he was now darker,  more serious and still creepy.

"Why do you say that?"

I couldn't help but wonder why was he like that. Was it too obvious that I was in love with him? Did Tao see it? I know, I am like a psycho, but there are things that I should not show in front of other people. The main is the fact that I was in love with my sister's fiancée.

"I like your sister and all, but I just find you..." As he ended the sentence with a whistle, I couldn't help but chuckle. "Thank you for the compliment."

"I guess you do get those a lot." He raised a brow as he leaned forward, catching my gaze through the mirrored doors. I smirked.

"All the time."

If there was something that I was extremely confident in, then that would be my looks. Even if I was shyer, calmer and more innocent than my sister, I have never failed in attracting men.

I have only one exception.

Kai.
