I was a guard of my own prison, keeping me safe and isolated from the world. No matter if it tried to reach me, or I tried to reach it, this mental prison had its strong barriers around me at all times and it was all me to blame.

You know, my life was easy to begin with. Who am I kidding? It still is. I am twenty two, living in California in a badass mansion that doesn't know the meaning of the word silence as all it ever does is to be occupied by people who had no intention to live for tomorrow and only for the alcohol that's being poured in their mouths, with the side of coke resting on the table, waiting to be taken in.

While my family is far away in my motherland, doing what it does, I am playing my role as the perfectly bad son who unlike my brother, who is doing his best in pursuing his dream job of a lawyer and then to be a judge, which might someday result as a president, at least I decided to be happy or at least, high.

I am not addicted no, this lifestyle is addicted to me.

This house is everything I've got that I cherish as it is both my gateway to the world and a sanctuary for my thoughts and experiences. Nothing and no one meant anything as close as this house meant to me.

Back to reality, back to life. Looking away from the drugs, alcohol and women around me, I spot a girl near the door. What was most interesting for me was that she wasn't nor laughing like an idiot, nor did she appear as drunk or high, which was an odd for my gatherings. As I found myself staring, her eyes met mine.

And that is how our story began.
