Movie Night

Different Worlds

"So since Mr. Park assigned us a project and it's a partner project, should we work together?" Miranda asked me while we walked out of the classroom. Class ended and I left feeling rather exhausted. I looked around at the people walking past us and thought about it.

"Sure. Should we start on it today?" I asked. I was feeling was starting to feel hungry and it was past time for lunch.

"Yeah, might as well get it over with. But first let's get some food," she said with urgency and we rushed off campus and to fill our stomachs. Afterwards we strolled around and talked over some ideas for our Korean language project. Basically we had to find a song and dance or sing to it. We were allowed to work in groups and the deadline was next month.

"Umm...We could try The Chaser," I suggested. I loved watching Infinite dance to this song and naturally I wanted to try it out to see how much of an idiot I would look like.

"That dance is kind of difficult..." Miranda trailed off. We were getting low on ideas because both of us were really picky and didn't want to embarrass ourselves.

"Come on! Let's at least try it. The song's good and if we fail, at least we'll have the song stuck in our head!" I tried to persuade her. I pleaded and begged until she finally gave in.

"Alright! We can try it. But if we turn out looking lame, the blame is all on you," Miranda resigned and I smiled triumphantly beside her.

"How about we practice at my place? It has some space," I offered. She nodded. I signalled for her to follow me and I showed her the way to my apartment. I unlocked the door and we walked in.

"Woah. Your place looks, like, really nice," Miranda said as she looked around the area. I went over to the couch and plopped down and grabbed my laptop to look for the dance tutorial. She continued to explore and check things out.

"Here it is," I said and put my laptop down on a table so that we could watch and learn. Miranda joined me back in the living room when the music started. We learned the very beginning and that took us a while. I decided to call it a night and we plopped down on the floor. Both us were breathing a bit heavily.

We were feeling a slight bit hungry, so I got up to make us something. Miranda followed me in to the kitchen and peered over my shoulder when I opened the fridge.

"Even your fridge is really neat!" she said pointing to how everything was organized from Sunggyu. I felt my cheeks heat up a bit, remembering it.

"Thanks," I shrugged and closed the door, then pulling off an ad for a restaurant. I figured it would be easier and tastier to just order out. I pulled my phone out and dialed the number. Once I finished ordering, we went back to the living room to wait and watch some television.

I heard the doorbell ringing and got up hoping it was the delivery man. I opened the door and I saw Dongwoo standing in front of me.

"Hello," I brightly answered. Even though he wasn't the food, I was still happy to see him.

"Hi!" Dongwoo greeted," We, well, Sunggyu mainly, was wondering if you wanted to come over for a movie night." He seemed slightly annoyed at mentioning Sunggyu's name and I inwardly chuckled. I felt footsteps from behind me and totally forgot that I had a guest over.

Miranda's eyes were as big as saucers and I had to put my hands on her shoulders to make sure she wouldn't do anything rash. I bit on my lower lip, anticipating her reaction.

"Why didn't you tell me that you lived next door to the essence of perfection!" she whined at me.

"Well, for obvious reasons," I laughed and turned back to Dongwoo. He seemed rather shocked that there was another person in my apartment.

"Is that your friend?" he asked gesturing to Miranda, who was trying to calm herself down by doing breathing exercises.

I nodded.

"Does she also like Infinite?" Dongwoo asked a little bit more cheerfully. I nodded again.

"Would she like to take a picture with me?" he asked jokingly. I translated for her since she wasn't too good at listening to Korean, but was really good at reading and writing.

She shyly nodded her head and handed him her phone, totally fangirling at almost touching his hand. Miranda struck a cutesy pose and Dongwoo gave a peace sign. I smiled at how happy Miranda was from that small action. He snapped the picture and handed back the phone with both hands. She thanked him and stood there, staring at him. I cleared my throat and tapped her on the arm.

She whirled around making her snap out of fangirl mode and her cheeks reddend.

"I'm sorry. But I can't tonight. We were working on a project for school and I just ordered some food," I said trying to not seem like a terrible person. I felt so bad for rejecting his offer. Who wouldn't? He nodded and smiled.

"It's fine. I know Sunggyu hyung will be disappointed, but that's what he gets for making me come over here. What is your project on?" Dongwoo questioned.

"We have to pick a song and either dance or sing to it. The two of us on doing your guys' Chaser," I said.

"Really? That dance is quite difficult and you will need a lot of practice," Dongwoo advised.

"Well, anyways, hwaiting on your project and enjoy the meal," he said cheerfully and left. When I closed the door Miranda started jumping up and down, squealing, and crying with joy in that order repeatedly. I laughed at her reaction and simply watched her. It was quite an odd sight to see, it was like looking at a mirror of what I looked like while fangirling.

I waited for her to calm down and by then the food had arrived. I answered the door and partly expected it to be another Infinite member. I paid for the food and took it to the living room.

"So how was your encounter?" I asked Miranda with a bunch of fried chicken in my mouth.

"It was more than I could ever hope to get at a fanmeeting. Did you see how Dino Dongwoo's hair was parted slightly off center and how he always wears that silly little smile? Oh my gosh. I can't even believe that happened to me. He was so nice and caring! Ah~ if only I lived next to them... my life would be complete," she rambled on and I listened to everything with a helpful comment to throw in every once in a while.

After we finished our meal and fangirl talk, we thought that it was time to wrap everything up. I stood up and walked to the door.

"Don't forget the dance," I told her as she was slipping on her sandals.

"I won't. I'll remember this day forever," she replied.

"But I said don't forget the dance," I said confused.

"Don't worry. I won't forget that either!" Miranda said confirming what I said and skipped out the door.

She left and I closed the door and slid down it, exhausted.

~

"So Dongwoo told me that you had over a guy yesterday night," Sunggyu stated as he entered my apartment. I gave him a puzzled look and sat down on the couch with my feet criss cross applesauce. He stood in front of me with his hands on his hips.

I met my gaze to his and we had a staring competion. I blinked first and buried my head in my hands to hide my embarrassment.

"Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't," I said trying to . Sunggyu glared at me and sat down beside me.

"Is that why you rejected my- I mean, our offer to watch a movie with us?" he asked back in an equally teasing tone. I playfully hit his arm in response.

"I was busy with school stuff," I said. He squinted his eyes at my answer.

"I don't know...Dongwoo isn't famous for telling lies," Sunggyu rebuffed.

"Really! I was!" I whined back, upset that he wasn't believing me.

"I know," he chuckled and tried to ruffle my hair. I leaned back to dodge his hand and blocked it. Surprise registered on his face.

"I don't like people touching my hair," I said defensively and moved my hands from his arm. Sunggyu took that chance to try to mess with my hair again and I ran away, but he followed me. I ducked and rolled like someone out of a spy movie while Sunggyu chased after me.

I flopped down on the ground, beads of sweat starting to form on my forehead from the physical activity and he laid down next to me.

"You know, for the grandpa of the group, you move pretty fast," I chuckled and rolled over to face him. His was panting and he had his eyes closed. At least I think they were closed...

Sunggyu turned and face me, too. We made eye contact and I noticed how he still had eyeliner on. Even though his eyes weren't the biggest, they definitely had an effect on me. I felt my heart beat start to get faster and I became more conscious of our postions. I looked down and our hands were literally two inches from each other. Sunggyu followed my gaze and saw where I was looking. His fingers twitched a little and my palms became sweaty. He was steadliy closing the distance and my cheeks pinked.

It felt like electricity passed through our fingers the second they met. He put his fingers slightly on top of mine and showed me a small smile. I looked at him with shock and he just smiled even more, turning his head to look at the ceiling.

A/N: So how was it? I enjoyed writing it, so I hope you guys enjoy reading it! How was the tiny bit of fluff? I don't want it to seem too sudden and stuff, so it will be gradual. As they get closer the fluff will be more potent. As usual, comment your thoughts or reactions, subscribe, and upvote if you feel it's worth it! ^^ Till next time!

P.S. Did you guys see the performance versions of Back? I loved it! It really showed off their dance, which is AMAZING!

Chapter 1: For a first fanfic, your grammar's pretty decent tbh. I've never read a sunggyuxoc fic, but I think I'll give this a chance. :)
But, I've noticed that the chapters are quite short? Usually, if a chapter surpasses 3,000 words then it's ready to be posted. :3
But this is written in the first POV so summing up 3,000 isn't that hard because when you live alone and not to mention you're now in a different country, you'll find everything interesting.~
But then again, you're new to writing, so I suggest making your vocabulary, as well as your imagination, broader. :)

Skipping parts is okay, but don't over do it.~ Describe the things she sees and what she thinks about it. On the fourth chapter, I could tell that you improved, if you compare it to the first chapter, so props to that. :D Characterization is very important. So far, I have minimal information about her and sunggyu, so I hope you develop their personalities and such on the future chapters.

Lastly, use metaphors from time to time and refrain yourself from using formal phrases. She's just a teenager, so I don't think it's appropriate. :3

Well, that's pretty much it! ^^ I hope I don't sound too harsh. :( Don't worry! We all have those first stories~ as time goes by, you'll eventually improve! :D
Oh, and tag it as "sunggyu". :>
Btw, if you're curious if I write stories or not, I do, but not on this account. ouo

Chapter 3: This sounds good for a first fanfic :) . I don't like you/oc fanfic, but this one is not too hard to read for me lol. Good job, keep updating so more people will notice your story ^^!
