They were all outside for dinner.  There was a long table full of food.  It was like a feast, the maids, bodyguards and nurses were all invited.

There were torches around the table.  Everybody was wearing pajamas except for Karen, Pie and Kim.

Everybody was happy.  Mariz offered Pie a flower to put on her right ear.  Since then Kim can’t take her eyes on Pie.  After dinner, Karen went to her room to rest.  The nurses, bodyguards and maid were still enjoying the party.

Kim asked Pie to go the spot where they were talking and glancing at the stars last year.

“The doctor will come here tomorrow to check me.  I hope you will stay beside me.”

“Sure, Kim.”

Kim smiled.  “I can’t forget this spot.”

“Me too.”

“You look lovelier with that flower, Pie.”

“Thank you, Kim.”

“Look at the stars, Pie.  They are shining for you.”

               “Because of this flower?”

               Kim nodded.

               “What if I take this flower off my ear, what will happen to the stars?”  Pie laughed.

               Kim laughed.  “Look at the people, they’re all drunk.”

               “Yes, I hope they can still focus on their duties tomorrow.”

               “The nurses forgot my medication.”

               “I’ll tell the nurses, Kim.”

               “Please don’t.  Just for tonight.”

               “Your mom said you resist to take medication before.”

               “Yes, and they put all the medication on tube but there was still no progress. Pie, please hold my right hand.”

               Pie held Kim’s right hand.

               “I can feel you, Pie.”

               “You can’t feel that before?”

               “Yes, I think I can move my fingers now.”

               “Can you?”

               Kim tried to move her fingers but can’t.

               “Don’t try too hard Kim.  You will get that soon.”

               “I want to stand and walk around, Pie.  I want to hold you and hug you.”

               “Don’t rush things, Kim.  You will get that soon.”

               “Hold my hand again, Pie.”

               “Okay, Kim.”  Pie held Kim’s hand again.

               “Do you what Pie.”

               “Yes?”

               “You’re an angel God sent to me.”

               Pie smiled.  “I think you should rest now.”

               Kim nodded and looked at the nurses.

               “Just leave them there, I’ll be the one to bring you.”

               “Thank you, Pie.”

               The doctor arrived early in the morning to check on Kim.  Pie didn’t fail her promise to Kim to stay with her on the checkup.

               After the checkup, Karen called the doctor right away to her office.  Kim and Pie felt positive on the result because the doctor was smiling even he didn’t say a word to them.

               “What’s the result, doc?”  Karen asked.

               “Kim’s health is fine, madam.  She told me she felt her right hand last night when Pie held her.  It was a good sign.”

               “Good.”

               “But there is one problem why it took so long.”

               “What is it doc?”

               “I have to go back to Kim, I have to check her medications, I found something there that was not on my list.”

               “Okay, doctor.  You can go.”

               The doctor went back to Kim’s room.  Pie and Kim were laughing on the TV show.  The nurse was about to put the drug on the tube.

               “Excuse me, what’s that?”  Doctor asked.

               “Medication doc.”  Nurse answered.

               “Wait, do I know you?  Did I list that drug to Kim’s?”

               “What’s the problem, doc?” Pie asked.

               The nurse injected the drug to the tube.

               “Stop that!”  The doctor ran to the nurse to stop the injection.

               “The nurse threw the syringe to the window and tried to jump but Pie and the doctor corner her.

               “Who are you?!”  Pie asked.

               The nurse didn’t answer.

               “Who are you?!  Answer us!”  Doc shouted.

               “I feel numb again!”  Kim shouted.

               The doctor turned to Kim to stop the drug injected by the nurse.

               Karen and Mariz heard the shouting upstairs.  They ran to see what happen.

               “What is happening here?”  Karen asked.

               The nurse cried when she saw Karen entered the room.

               “This woman injected a drug that worsen Kim’s health.”  Doctor said.

               “Hey, I don’t see you around here!”  Mariz shouted.

               “What?  Who are you working for?”  Karen asked.

               The nurse didn’t answer.

               “Mariz, call the guards.”  Karen commanded.

               “No please madam. No!” The nurse cried.

               “Who are you working for?”  Karen asked again.

               The nurse was about to speak, her head was shot from outside.

               “Oh my God!”  Pie shouted.

               “Everybody duck!”  The doctor shouted.

               The guards was about to enter the room, they ran downstairs to look for the gun man.

               Pie was crawling to the window to see who shooter.  She saw a man on the other island holding a rifle running to the speed boat.  “There! He’s on the other island.”

               The guards ran to the boat to chase the gun man but they lost him.

               The policemen came to the house to investigate and clear the house.

               One of the policemen saw the real nurse tied on the basement.

               Pie was checking around while everybody was busy clearing the house.  She saw Karen’s office left open. She saw Karen and the Chief of Police inside the Karen’s office talking.  She peeped into the room to hear what they talking about.

               “Kim’s not safe here anymore.”  The chief said.

               “So what’s your plan?” Karen asked.  “She can’t stay here anymore.”

               “She can stay in one of your hotels.  I can put lots of policemen to guard her.”

               “Kim will sense if we do that.”

               “Sense what?” Pie came in.  “Why Kim is not safe here? Is there anyone out there wants to kill Kim?”

               “We’re still investigating ma’am.”  The Chief answered.

               “Pie, please check on Kim.  We will talk later, okay?”  Karen asked.

               “Okay.”  Pie left the room.

               Kim was transferred to another room, the doctor was checking on her while Kim was sleeping.

               “How is she doc?”  Pie asked.

               “She will be fine.  I already stop the drug.”  Doc answered.

               “Thank you, Doc.”  Pie said.

               “Can you stay with Kim for tonight?  I really need to go to hospital now.  My patients are waiting for me.”  Doc asked.

               “Sure doc.”  Pie answered.

               Pie watched Kim sleeping.  She was brushing Kim’s hair by her hand.  She was thinking why they wanted to worsen Kim’s numbness of her arm and leg.
