Kim and Pie’s relationship
The ComfortEveryone was already ready to leave the house in the morning. Pie was beside Tina watching her while the nurse fed Tina for breakfast.
“Nurse, I’m full. Thank you.”
Pie laughed.
“Why are you laughing, Pie?”
“You look like a baby, Kim.”
“It’s okay. I can take that as long as I’m your baby.”
“Okay, baby. Time for your med.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
The two were looking at each other’s eyes smiling.
Mariz, came in. “Okay love birds. It’s time to leave.”
“Damn you, you’re ruining our moment, Mariz.” Kim said.
Pie laughed.
They arrived at the hotel. Everyone was waiting for them at the lobby, including the press. They went straight to the elevator. Mariz was busing texting since they left the house.
“Who’s that you’re texting with, Mariz?” Pie asked.
“My boyfriend.” Mariz answered.
“No time for boyfriend now.” Karen said.
“I’m sorry, madam. This is some kind of emergency.”
“Okay, stop that when this elevator opens.” Karen commanded
“I don’t know you have a boyfriend, Mariz.” Kim asked.
“How long?” Pie asked.
“Since the day we met. End of story.” Mariz answered.
The elevator opened. They were on the penthouse. The entire floor was set for Tina.
“Wow! This is huge!” Pie amazed.
“I love it, Mom!” Kim said.
“I’m glad you like it, Kim.” Karen said.
Mariz phone rang.
“Mariz!” Karen shouted.
“I’m sorry madam, for the last time please.” Mariz ran to the elevator to answer the call.
Kim was staring at the window, she was looking at the ground. She found someone, a man wearing black pants and black jacket standing behind the palm behind tree at the other side of the road looking at her. She was about to her mom but she saw Mariz running toward the man.
“Pie?”
“Yes, Kim.”
“He looks familiar.”
“Where?”
Pie looked at the window. She only saw Mariz running back to the building. “Is that Mariz, right? What is she doing there?”
“She was talking with that man. He really looks familiar to me.”
“Mariz’s boyfriend?”
“I don’t know. Maybe but I feel something bad.”
“Kim?”
“Nevermind. Forget it.”
The elevator opened. It was Mariz.
“Mariz, is that your boyfriend?” Pie asked. Kim was looking at Mariz suspiciously.
“What?” Mariz asked.
“We saw you.” Pie answered.
“Yes.” Mariz nodded.
“Where is Mariz?” Karen asked.
“I’m here.” Mariz answered.
“Let’s go.” Karen commanded.
“Where are you going, Mom?”
“One of our malls needs my presence. I’ll be back right away. Take care of her Pie.”
“Yes, Karen. I will.” Pie said.
After six hours, Karen wasn’t home yet. The dinner was already set but Kim was waiting for her mother.
“We should eat now, Kim. You need take your medications now.” Pie asked.
“Why mom is not here?” Kim asked.
Pie’s phone rang. She received a text from Mariz.
“Kim, your mom will be home late.” Pie said to Kim.
“Why, Pie?”
“I don’t know, Mariz just texted that they will be home late.”
“You should eat now, Kim.” The nurse said.
“Okay, let’s eat together.”
Kim went back to the window again. The man she saw this morning won’t get out of her mind and she was worried why her mom was not yet home.
Pie just got out from the shower. She went out from her room to check for Kim.
“Hello Kim. You’re staring at the window again.”
“I’m worried Pie. Why mom isn’t home, it’s late already. She usually text me when she’s not home like this hour.”
“Did you call your mom? Where’s your phone by the way? I’ll get it for you.”
“In my room.”
Pie went to Kim’s room to get the phone. She found Kim’s phone at the bedside table. When she took the phone, she noticed the drawer was a little bit opened so she found pocket-sized pictures under it.
Pie smiled when she took the pictures. The pictures were all her. Her heart was beating faster. She felt love when she saw the last picture; she was sitting beside Kim on the boat laughing at each other.
“Pie?” Kim called her.
“Yes, I’m coming!” Pie put back the pictures in the drawer.
“What took you so long?” Kim asked.
“Here’s your phone. I just saw some pictures in your drawer.”
Kim smiled. “Oh, message from mom. She said there are problems that need to be fixed on the other malls.”
“So you’re okay now?”
Kim nodded.
“Let’s go back to the pictures, you really like me Kim.”
“Yes, Pie. Since the first day we met.”
Pie kneeled down at Kim’s. “I like you too, Kim.”
Kim smiled. “Thank you, Pie.”
“It’s time for bed, baby.”
“Okay, take me to my room.”
“Okay, baby.”
Pie helped Kim to her bed.
“Are you okay now, baby?” Pie asked.
Kim nodded.
“Good night.”
“What about a kiss?”
“A kiss.?”
Kim smiled.
“Okay.”
Pie sat on bed and kissed Kim on the lips. They both laughed after the kiss.
“So are we….?” Kim asked.
“On?” Pie nodded.
“Yes!” Kim shouted.
“Good night, baby. I love you.” Pie left the room.
