CHAPTER 28      

Time Traveller       

 

February 4, 2035

 

Seyoung lay on her bed with a sigh. Her parents just went out for their date, and she now she’s alone at their house. It's hard for her to keep a smile and her bubbly personality in front of her parents so just they won't see her hurting inside.

 

Seyoung didn't realize that she fell asleep and only woke up because of the doorbell ringing. She hastily gets up and headed to the door and opens it revealing Jiyeon.

 

"Seyoung ah... Are you alright?" Jiyeon asked noticing the sadness on Seyoung's face.

"I guess?" She just said and let her in

"I'm so sorry to hear that, but Seyoung ah, how about the party for your parents?"

 

Seyoung sat on the couch and sighed deeply. "You're right, I still have a party to host"

"Can you do it?"

"Of course" she said and smiled a small smile.

 

 

Seyoung tried to push away her thoughts of Minhyuk and just to think about her plans for the day. Jongin and Jiyeon's mom came to help them set the garden. They set a mini stage in front and tables with seats. They also cook different dishes. It's almost 2:00 in the afternoon when they finished. Soon Naeun and the twins came. They all gathered in the garden while waiting for the other guest.

 

"Jiyeon ah, do you they will come?" She asked her bestfriend

"We hope so"

"I have contacted Tao hyung, Kyungsoo hyung and Chen hyung, they will all come. And they said that they also received your invitation" Jongin assured Seyoung

"Thank you uncle Jongin"

"Hey where's the cake?" 

"Lee will get it from the store. But he should be here now"

 

And just on time, a doorbell was heard; Jiyeon opened the gate and helped Lee with the cake. They set it on the table. The two then went to sit with Seyoung.

 

“Hey, sweating too much, are you tired?” Jiyeon asked Lee and wiped his sweat with a handekerchief

“I’m okay, thank you for your concern” Lee said and smiled sweetly at her

“Omg I feel ants everywhere” Seyoung commented on the couple’s sweetness, and just then they heard someone cough from behind them. It was Jongin, looking glaring at Lee.

 

“I’ve seen you before, but who are you again?” Jongin asked, scrutinizing the younger guy, and giving a sharp glare at his hand that was wrapped around Jiyeon’s shoulder.

 

Lee immediately pulled his hand back and stands to introduce himself properly to Jongin.

 

"Hello sir, I’m Jiyeon’s boyfriend, my name is—“

“His name is royal princess Soojung” Seyoung said

“Yah…” he said to Seyoung, while Jiyeon control herself not to laugh

“Soojung? That’s your name? But isn’t that a girl’s name?”

“Yes, that’s my name, but I will soon change my name"

"Woah really? How about your grandma?" Jiyeon asked

"Well, she already agreed for me to change my name. She was even the one who suggested it. She said that even though I look like a girl, I’m still a guy so I need a manlier name” Lee explained

“So what your new name will be?” Seyoung asked

“Sungjong. From now on, call me Sungjong. Lee Sungjong.” He said, obviously proud

“You’re still a princess though” Seyoung said

“Yah” he whined

“And besides, your name is not changed yet” she teased and they all just laugh

“Okay okay, whatever your name is. When did you start dating my niece? What’s your father’s work?”

“Uncle Jongin!” Jiyeon whined

“Don’t worry uncle Jongin, princess Soojung is a good guy. He’s our friend. And if he’ll ever hurt Jiyeon, I’ll make sure that he will regret it” Seyoung laughed

 

 

“Your uncle is really protective” Seyoung said to Jiyeon, they are still at the garden but left Lee with Jongin so they could have a talk

“Well yeah, he’s my second father. He really took care of us”

“Seyoung ah, Uncle Chen is here with his family” Naeun said to them

“Really? They really came?” Seyoung said excitedly and soon she saw Chen with his wife, Song YoungJi and their son, Daeyoung.

 

“Hey Naeun, long time no see, you got… fat?” Chen joked seeing Naeun’s belly

“Yah, you’re still the troll Jongdae, I don’t see any change” Naeun retorted

“Naeun ah, don’t listen to Jongdae. And it’s nice seeing you again” Youngji said, their son also greeted Naeun

“Where’s Kkamjong?” Chen asked

“Over there, talking with someone. Oh yeah, remember her? This is Seyoung, Sehun and Hayoung’s daughter” Naeun introduces

“Oh it’s you! Woah, you really look like your mother. Well do you remember me? I’m your favorite exo uncle!” Chen said while Naeun just rolled her eyes.

 

Seyoung was glad, that at least another from exo came. And soon, one by one, the others also came. The next to come was Tao with his wife Lee Naeun and their ZiZi.

 

“Naeun!” Son Naeun greeted

“Naeun!” Tao’s wife greeted and they both shared a hug

“Woah a Naeun-ception!” Chen said and they all laughed

 

The next to come is Yookyung, Xiumin and their children, YooMin and Minho.

 

“XiuMinseok!” Kai, Chen and Tao run to their eldest hyung “We thought you wouldn’t come”

“Well we’re here. And what’s with that kind of welcome?” Xiumin asked

“Yookyungie!” the girls greeted her, and they soon talk

 

Kyungsoo, Namjoo and their daughter Minji came after. They were followed by Lay, Han Hyun Joo and their daughter Hyuna. Then Suho, Chorong and Chojoon, followed by Kris, his wife Emma and their children Jasper and Jenny. 

 

Seyoung smiled, she thought that even one of wouldn’t come. But here they are now. Just seeing them reunite, even after years, she can still feel their strong friendship. Even though they lost communication, it doesn’t mean that their friendship is also lost.

 

“Who else hadn’t come?” Suho asked

“Should we do a head count?” Chorong suggested

“Hey I missed that, we are so many that we have to do a headcount to know if we’re complete” Xiumin said

 

“Hey guys!” they all look and saw Luhan, Bomi and Mihan

“Luhan! Bomi!”

“OMG guys! We missed you!”

“Hey where’s my Jiji?” Bomi asked looking for Eunji

“They still hadn’t come”

“Looking for us?” Eunji said, she’s with Baekhyun and their children Jihyun and Hyunji. They are also with Chanyeol, YoonMi and Chanhyun.

 

“Guys!”

“Woah woah we’re all here?” Chanyeol said excitedly

“Okay okay guys, I think we should all thank the one who planned all this” Jongin said and look at Seyoung

“Seyoung-ie”

“Hello uncles and aunties, I’m really glad that you all came. I know that you’re all busy, but I’m really thankful that you all came”

“We should be the one saying thank you. Because of you, all of us meet again.” Suho said

“Hey wait, where are your parents? This is a party for them right?”

“They’re on their date right now. And I’m planning to surprise them with this”

“Hey I think we should do something” Luhan suggested

“Anyone of you still remembered how to dance wolf?” Lay asked

“Of course!” Many of the exo said

“Hey, we should too.” Namjoo said

“Wait, I can’t dance” Naeun said, pointing to her large belly

“Then just sing”

“So what’s the plan?” Exopink then gathered to talk about the plan, and stopped when Seyoung’s phone sudden;y rang

 

“Omma is calling!” she said before answering her phone and everyone became quiet. “Hello? Yes omma. I’m fine here, I’m with Jiyeon. What? You’re on your way home? Ah okay. Bye drive safely” she ended the call

“They will come soon!”

 

Exopink and the others then rushed to do their plan. When they heard the doorbell rang, Seyoung and Jiyeon went to get the door.

“Omma! Appa!”

“Hello aunt Hayoung, Uncle Sehun”

“Hey girls, so what are you doing while we’re gone?”

“Nothing much…. Uhm appa, omma” Seyoung and Jiyeon went behind their backs and put blindfolds over their eyes

“Hey, what’s this?”

“It’s a secret” she giggled. They then lead the couple to the garden. Exopink positioned themselves in the mini stage in front that they set while the others gathered in front of exopink and covered them.

 

“Omma, appa, you can remove them now”

 

Sehun and Hayoung removed their blindfolds and saw a people in front of them. Different faces and they were all familiar, even the kids.

 

“Happy anniversary!” they greeted and then soon, the music is and played wolf. The people in front of the stage went to the side and revealed the tree. The exo members were laughing, some have exchange their position and their hands were not synchronized, it was already years, and now they’re performing that again without practice.

 

Sehun and Hayoung can’t help but be shock and smile.

 

Exo started dancing, and as expected some made mistakes and their dance was not like before, but all in all it was fun. After wolf, it is Apink’s turn already and they danced to MyMy, but of course, Naeun just sing since she can’t dance. But everything is fine too.

 

After their messy but fun performance, exopink went to Sehun and Hayoung to greet them and hug them.

 

“Oh my, you don’t know how surprised we are” Hayoung said

“How did you all even end here?”

“It’s your daughter’s surprise”

 

 After that, the party began. They surly missed everyone that they don’t run out of topics to talk about.

 

“Whoa the children all grew up so fast”

“Yes, look at Minji, she’s just a toddler last time I saw her, but now she’s already so beautiful” Chorong said, pertaining to the 13 year old daughter of Kyungsoo and Namjoo

“Yeah, and she really looks like Namjoo” Eunji said

“No, she looks like Kyungsoo more” Baekhyun said

“No, she looks like Namjoo” Eunji said

“No, Kyungsoo” Baekhyun retorted

“Namjoo”

“Kyungsoo”

“Here we go again” Jihyun rolled her eyes at her parent’s silliness

“Seems like your daughter is already used to your nonsense bickering” Kris commented

“But really, Minji looks like both of them because she is their daughter” Lay reasoned

“Yeah, she’s beautiful like me so stop fighting” Namjoo said and hug her daughter, Kyungsoo also ruffled her daughter’s hair

“Aww what a sweet family” Eunji commented

“Jihyun ah, please bear with your parents’ childishness, they are really like that” Xiumin said

“Yah, we’re not. And don’t make us look bad in front of our daughter” Baekhyun said

“But uncle Xiumin is right though” Jihyun said

“Yah” and they all laughed

“Is omma and appa really childish since then?” Jihyun asked

“Yes they are” and they told the story “Just like Luhan and Bomi” Tao said

“Mihan-ah, you want to hear the story of your parents when they were young?” Sehun asked

“No, it’s fine uncle. I already know their story. It actually became my bedtime story before. They alsways told me about it, I’m almost sick with it” Mihan said

“What? How can you be like that to your parent’s own love story? It’s like the sweetest love story of all!” Luhan said, overdramatically

“I think I know the reason” Kris commented

“Kris oppa, your children are so tall” Chorong said

“Yeah, even taller than us considering that they’re just 15 and 13 years old” Bomi said

“It’s in the genes” Kris said, since he and Emma are both tall

“Emma unni is such a Goddess, how did she put up with an alpaca plushie lover guy?” Naeun joked

“At least this alpaca plushie lover guy is whiter than your chicken lover guy” Kris said

“Yah, my skin again?” Kai whined

“Hahaha”

“Oh, Hyuna-ah, do you also like unicorns? I remember that your parent’s love them so much” Chanyeol asked

“The sad thing is she don’t like them” Lay said

“Yeah, of all things, she doesn’t like unicorns!” Hyun Joo said dramatically

“But they don’t exist” the girl reasoned

“Exactly!” Tao said and high-five the girl “Pandas are cuter anyway”

“Aww, she’s not a unicorn lover. It will be cute if she is. I remember, Lay oppa and HyunJoo met because of a unicorn plushie”

“Really? How did that happen?” Seyoung asked

“Well, I’m in toy store that time and then I saw a cute plushie, I was about to get it but then it gets picked at the same time by Hyun Joo. The thing is it’s the last piece, we hold it not wanting to let go while string at each other’s eyes and—“

“So yeah that’s how it all started. Let’s stop now before it gets all rainbow-y and fluffy.” Chen said

 

They all continue to talk and tease each other. The children are also getting closer and played with each other. Seyoung smiled seeing the happy reunion of exopink and they are so many now. She looks at her father when she felt his hand on her shoulder

 

“Thank you Seyoung-ah. You don’t know how happy we are” Sehun said

“You’re welcome appa, omma” and the three hugged

 

 

 

 

 

Seyoung then went inside the house and to her room to charge her phone. She opens the drawer to get her charger but then she saw the magazine there. She gets the magazine and stared at it. She remembers when she bought that magazine, when Minhyuk opens up to her about his family, their little moment together, she remembers it all, and she misses it.

 

“Seyoung-ah, this package for you came” Jiyeon said entering her room. Seyoung was a bit confused, since she doesn’t remember that she ordered something or what but still get the package.

 

She put the magazine down at the table and put the box above it. The box was not that big and is not really heavy. She started opening the box, and was shocked to see what’s inside

 

“What’s that?” Jiyeon asked

 

Seyoung didn’t answer her but instead, she gets the teddy bear that was inside the box. “Minhyuk” she mumbled. She can’t be wrong, it’s the bear that they get form the amusement park. Seyoung look inside the box again and saw another item. She gets it and saw that it was a magazine. She examined it and saw that it was the next issue to the magazine she got. The magazine that Minhyuk had told her to be a better one. She immediately opens up the magazine and search for a certain page, without noticing that a photo fall from it.

 

Jiyeon picked the photo up and saw that it was a photo of Seyoung at a mall. This was the very first photo of her that Minhyuk took. 

 

“Seyoung ah, it’s you” Jiyeon said and showed it to her, also she have found that page. There was an article about families. The photos there were beautifully taken. She looks below the page and saw the writings

“Seyoung-ah, what’s wrong? And where did this come from."

 

“He’s alive?”

“Who’s alive?”

“Him! The guy I’m telling you! I know all of these come from him. So there’s a big possibility that he’s alive!”

“Really? But why would he send you a magazine that’s dated 21 years back?”

“Jiyeon ah, maybe you won’t believe it, but… when I’m gone, I actually travelled back to the past”

“What?!”

“I know it’s hard to believe, but this guy I’m telling you, I’ve met him in the past, in the year 2014. And in this magazine, he worked for this. Look, this is his work.” Seyoung said and showed the magazine to Jiyeon

“I remembered this magazine”

“Really?”

“It’s where my uncle worked before”

“Uncle?”

“Yeah, my other uncle. And I think this is his work. My uncle is KMH.”

“What? Your uncle is Kim Minhyuk?”

“Huh? No, my uncle is Kim Minhyun. Not Hyuk”

“No Jiyeon, this KMH here stands for Kim Minhyuk”

“Seyoung ah, I know what I’m talking about, I’m sure that it stands for Kim Minhyun. And Kim Minhyun is my uncle, Kim Minhyuk is his son. Kim Minhyuk is Min-ie oppa”

“What? No that can’t be. Wait I’ll show you a picture of him” Seyoung said and showed their photo on her phone “Here, that is Kim Minhyuk”

“Seyoung ah, yes that’s Kim Minhyuk. He is also Min-ie oppa”

“But Min-ie oppa is just about our age right? I’ve met him in the past. He should be a grown up man now”

“Well it seems to me that Min-ie oppa also traveled with you back to the past”

 

 

“Seyoung-ah, Jiyeon ah. Your Min-ie oppa is here now. Do you want to meet him?” Jiyeon’s mother shouted from downstairs. The two immediately stared at each other with wide eyes.

 

“Confirm it” Jiyeon said and Seyoung ran down the stairs.

 

 She went back to the garden and look around. She look and look, but she can’t see that person she’s looking for. She slowed down and look down when a flash of a camera surprised her. She looked at her left and saw a guy with his camera over his face. Slowly, the guy put the camera down and revealed his face. The face that Seyoung was looking for, the face that Seyoung was longin for to see, his face. Kim Minhyuk.

 

They stared at each other for a while. “Seyoung-ah” he whispered, but she still heard it, and now her tears were about to fall. “I’m sorry”

“What are you doing here?” she asked, but then Minhyuk just get something from his pocket and showed it to her. It was the invitation she made for him.

 

“Oppa” Seyoung then walked near to him, stared at his face before kicking his shin.

 

“Aww!” He shouted and bent down, hoding his shin in pain

 

Seyoung bit her lips, while her tears flow down her cheeks. “Yah! How can you do that huh? I’m so confused right now! And I;ve been so worried thinking that you died in that earthquake!” she screamed at him, the other people at the garden were already staring at them

“I’m sorry, I know I have a lot to explain and—“ Minhyuk explained, still not getting up

“Yah!” Seyoung cutted him and spread her arms. Just like what he did for her before. “Stand up”

 

Minhyuk then stand up and immediately wrapped her arms around Seyoung. The girl is now crying at his chest “I’m sorry for lying to you. But I promise you, all the things we’ve done, what I’ve showed you, and what I’m feeling for you, all of them were real. You don’t mean nothing to me, in fact you mean everything to me. Seyoung-ah. I’m really sorry, I know I have a lot to explain to you, I know you have a lot of questions.” Minhyuk held Seyoung’s cheeks and wipes her tears

 

“But right now, I can tell you one thing”

“What is it?”

“I was a…”

Yes, as I said this is the final chapter. and yes, Seyoung is not the time traveller here but is really Minhyuk. I  also feel that even though this chapter is already so long, I feel that it still lacks. I think also you have a lot of questions right? Well, I think I may post a bonus chapter or what to answer those if ever you have some. But if there's none then it's okay.
