Chapter 4
Differences Between UsChapter Four
"Good morning, Krystal!"
"Well, good morning, Sunny," Krystal smiled to the recepcionist at her radio office, who was sorting some files behind the counter.
"There's a message for you," Sunny gave her a little post-it, looking up at her.
"Thanks," Krystal nodded. When she turned, she saw Lay sleeping on the couch while holding a bouquet.
Krystal smiled while looking at him, "He's been here since seven o'clock sharp for the interview. The leopard changed his spots! Kryztal versus Lay yehe~!" Doni chirped happily.
Krystal walked to the couch where Lay was lying and watched him sleeping, slowly peeling the flowers one by one from his bouquet. She noticed that he had a sharp jaw-line, and his soft hair fell down as his head shifted in his sleep
After awhile, Lay stirred from his sleep and smiled when he saw Krystal's face behind the flowers. But the second time he opened his eyes, there's the face of Doni, also looking at him. In a matter of seconds, he felt fully awakened.
"Aren't you going to give me the rest?" Asked Krystal, smiling.
Lay turned a light shade of pink. "These are for Doni," He quickly replied, sitting upright, and shoving the rest of the flowers in Doni's arms, who accepted happily.
"Kryztal versus Lay!" Doni remarked happily, making his way outside the record room, anticipating more drama like what had happened before.
Once Doni was out, Krystal turned to Lay and started the interview.
"Are you a chef or an architect?" Krystal began with a simple question.
"Well, an architect by qualification. But a chef by choice."
"Then why did you become an architect?" asked Krystal.
"To make my dad happy."
"And why did you become a chef?"
"To make myself happy." Lay showed his famous smile.
"All right. So let's say, if you happen to meet a beautiful girl one day and she asks you what you do for a living. What would you say?" Asked Krystal.
"If the girl is well-educated, like a lawyer or a doctor, then I'd say I'm an architect. But if she's creative, like a writer or an RJ, then I'm a chef."
"Oh, so your truth is changeable."
"Well, the truth is like a recipe. Some things you hide and some you reveal..." Lay replied with a smirk.
"So what's the one vital truth that you've hidden so far and from whom?" Krystal asked again.
"My wife doesn't know that we're married," Joked Lay, but Krystal didn't laugh. "Sorry, just kidding."
While waiting outside, Doni was frustrated because the 'drama' didn't come out. He yelled from the outside, trying to get them to talk, which was useless actually because Krystal couldn't hear. "Kryztal! What is this? Attack! Charge!"
"If you became an architect to please your dad and a chef to please yourself, what will you do to please your mother? Marry a nice Korean girl?" Krystal raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I don't believe in marriage. But if mom was still alive then, yes, perhaps I'd even do that for her sake," Replied Lay with a sad voice.
"Oh I'm so sorry," Krystal's tone became concerned.
"That's okay."
"Were you very close to her?"
"Very. I was only fourteen."
"So young."
