We Can Give Her Two Weeks

Wishing Box: Let's make a Wish [Discontinued]

Hei Ryung

Walking home after the rather exciting day of the last day of school is a little disappointing; a lot of people are going home to their families, the ones so proud that they made it through. Me? An empty house, with a fridge that needs stalking. Groaning I head into the local grocery store, still turning the idea over in my head my parents won’t be back until the week before I move out, my brother? Who knows when I’ll see him, the lucky idiot studying abroad in America, the lucky idiot’s parents were there for his graduation.

Milk, I need milk and something for dinner… In the back arguing are two guys, covered, a little odd looking and suspicious looking, arguing in front of the dairy section.

“I’ll get eggs first.” I mutter edging away from the odd pair; maybe I’ll try that recipe Jo Kwon sent me…Some American dish…OR better yet I’ll order in, maybe Chinese food.

-SHINee / earlier that day-

“Key-Hyung there isn’t any milk or snacks…or food really.” Taemin whines looking around the kitchen.

“What?” Key asks looking to inspect their kitchen. “Well I guess that makes sense.”

“Are you going to get food?” Taemin asks hopefully sliding onto the ground. “And milk, banana milk?”

“Neh, I’ll go.” He says sighing. “I don’t think we really have a choice, we’re going to need something to sustain us.”

“I’ll go with you.” Minho says bored. “There isn’t anything to do.”

“You stay here and watch Onew and Jonghyun; they might be up to something.” Key says exasperated. “We’ll need to go to a smaller store. Taemin make a list, Minho we need to get dressed for low key.”

“Kay, but we’ll have to carry everything.” Minho points out a little tired just at the thought, while walking to change.

Walking out in their least flashest, and drawing attention clothes the two heads out in jackets, hats, sunglasses, plain jeans, shirts and shoes, nothing to give away that they’re part of SHINee. Walking out of the building with a list, and their credit cards, some cash they make their way to a local yet disconnected part of Seoul.

“I’m telling you he’ll just whine until we get some!” Minho says to Key quietly.

“He can live without banana milk for a little while longer.” Key says back. “We shouldn’t stay out too much longer!”

“I know that, but you’ll get sick of him whining about it and just go back out later!”

“What do you want me to do? Magically make it appear?!”

-Hei Ryung-

“I really need regular milk.” I mutter. “But they’re still arguing, and they look creepy.” I whine to myself. ‘Aish.’

“Excuse me.” I mutter in front of them. “Could I get by?” I ask them politely. “I apologize for interrupting.” I say bowing.

“Oh sorry.” They both say looking away, what strange people.

Quickly grabbing the milk I make my way to the cashier, checking out I quickly leave thanking the owner.

“HEY!” A guy yells, one of the ones from earlier, the taller one. “Could we ask you something?”

“Sure?” I say edging away.

“Do you know where we could get some banana milk?” He asks me scratching the back of his head.

I nod my head. “All the locals know you can’t get it here.”

“We’re new to this part.”

Sighing I look at my bags. “There’s a convenience store that sells it, cheap too.”

“Would you mind taking us there?” He asks me hopefully. “Please?” Bowing.

“Sure…” I mutter walking the opposite way home, guess this will take longer than I thought.

“YAH!” A guy yells. “Where are you going?”

“Getting banana milk, she’s taking us.” The guy explains. “Come on.”

Quietly I lead them, upon arriving they smile at me, bowing though starts a problem.

“Damn, no!” Minho, Choi Minho, says as his hat falls, knocking his sunglasses off as he tries to catch his hat.

“MINHO-OPPA?!” A girl yells, in a school uniform, stalled Key grabs his arm and mine running.

“KEY-OPPA?!” A few girls yell, them all texting like crazy.

“Where do you live?!” Key asks me running, helping with my bags.

“This way.” I tell him pointing to an ally. “We can get in through the back, and lose them.”

Nodding their head they ease us into the ally following me as I run past all the gates leading to back yards, seeing mine come up I struggle to open it.

“Here let me.” Minho says urgently, opening the gate quickly Key pushes me inside, while Minho locks the gate, the three of us run around the pool, leaving our shoes by the door as we lock the sliding door shut.

“Thank you.” Key says panting.”Sorry to pull you so roughly.”

“Its fine.” I say trying to catch my breath, standing up I pick up my groceries. “Do you need to wait it out?”

“Neh.” Minho says gabbing theirs.

“You can put yours in here for now.” I say motioning towards the kitchen, “If you want.”

They both bow to me. “Sorry for the trouble.” Key says smiling at me happily.

“It isn’t too much trouble.” I tell them putting my groceries away, my eggs all cracked. “Darn.”

“We can pay for those.” Minho offers.

“Aniyo.” I tell him putting my hands up. “It isn’t a big deal.”

“Aniyo.” Minho and Key say together.

“It really is fine, I swear.” I tell them smiling.

Key pouts. “Aish. Let us, it’s the least we could do for putting you out.”

“Aniyo, I bought too many.” I whisper looking around. “It really is fine.”

“What’s your name?” Minho asks brightly. “I’m Minho.”

“Kibum, call me Key though.” Key says happily as well, switching gears quickly.

“I’m Hei Ryung.” I say quietly, blushing. “It’s nice to meet you both.”

“You’re a high school student?” Key asks me.

“Aniyo.” I say looking down. “I graduate tomorrow.”

“OH!” They both say excitedly. “Congratulations!”

This is a bit much, them congratulating me, being in my house… “Thank-you.” I say bowing.

“Hei Ryung you alright?” Minho asks me, his voice concerned.

Breathing a little deeply I smile. “This is just a bit much.” I explain to them. “I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing to meet you and everything, but I’m starting to feel like this is a dream.”

“Aniyo.” Key says happily. “This isn’t a dream.” He says a smile on his face.

“Why don’t you sit down?” Minho offers me pointing to the couch.

“Good idea.” I tell him walking quickly past them. “Well this is one way to end the year.” I mutter.

“So you’re going to university then?” Key asks me.

I nod my head. “I’ll be moving into an apartment near the end of summer.” I explain to them. “It’ll be strange living away from my friends.”

“Friends?” Minho asks me. “What about your family?”

Laughing I look down the hall. “I’m already used to that.”

“Wae?” Key asks me. “If we’re not intruding too much.”

“Aniyo, it’s fine. My parents are always gone on business trips, like now.” I tell them uncaringly. “They won’t be back until the week before I move out.”

“Siblings?” Minho asks.

“My older brother is abroad studying.” I tell them shrugging my shoulders. “He’s been gone for a little over a year now.”

“But you graduate; don’t your parents want to see?” Key asks me confused.

Shrugging my shoulders I glance at the time. “My friends are coming over to celebrate…you probably need to hide right?”

“Neh.” They say together.

“You can hide in my brother’s room.” I say standing up, hearing a knock I glance at the door way. “That’s them come on.” I tell them in a hushed tone.

Leading them into my brother’s room I smile at them, “Sorry.”

“It’s fine.” Key says patting my shoulder, before shutting the door.

Running I answer the door. “Hey guys.”

“Hei Ryung why haven’t you gotten out of your uniform?” MiYoung asks me. “We don’t have to wear it ever again.”

“Oh, right.” I mutter looking down. “I ran to the store, guess I just forgot.” I tell them letting everyone in, seeing their boxes I smile.

“Go change and bring yours out!” Sang Hee says excitedly.

“Hurry!” Jooyeon ushers me down the hall.

Sighing I pull on a pair of dark wash skinny jeans with a handkerchief stitched into the pocket, a little torn, pulling on a cut off tank saying ‘let them eat cake’ in English, finally pulling on a pink hoodie with some writing on the back, also in English what this says, I’m not quite sure, a gift from my brother, so hopefully nothing inappropriate, grabbing the box off my desk I quickly head into the living room where they’re laughing.

-Key and Minho-

“She’s lonely.” Minho whispers. “I mean aside from her friends she doesn’t have anyone really.”

“Text Taemin saying we’ll be late” Key says already plotting, they need excitement and here is a girl that needs some friends.

“Neh.” Minho says quickly. “You like her?”

“Neh, she’s didn’t spasm after finding out who we are.” Key says affectionately “We might as well see that she has a nice last summer, listen!”

“Hei Ryung seriously, you’ll be alone for two weeks.” A girl says sadly. “We don’t want you to rot away here.”

“I won’t!” Hei Ryung says indignantly. “I’ll find something to do, something fun.” She says, her voice leading off.

“See you’re not even sure!” Another voice accuses. “Hei Ryung…”

“Guys, I’ll be fine. I’m sure I can go shopping, look around do some stuff I’ve never gotten the chance to do.”

“Yeah, sure.” A third voice says doubtfully.

“We could be her friends; we can give her two weeks.” Key says excitedly. “Maybe more!”

Aww, sorry to hear about your situation. :/ But may be you just need time and I don´t mind waiting. ;)
I am little confused about the matter of changing accounts, but I hope you won´t delete this story. It would be great if you could post the final chapters, when you have everything prepared. :)
It is pity that it didn´t go the way how you wished, but you can always come back and change it, right? I am always really sad, when some fanfics are unfinished...I understand your reasons, but please, try to give this story a 2nd chance. ;)
Thank you. ^^
