In my room on a dusty shelf sits a shoe box. A shoe box decorated in different colors and patterned paper, of course you’d have to look really hard to see that, the box is now covered in different colored sticky notes. A lot of them. On each sticky note I’ve written my favorite sayings, K-Pop idols, boy bands, but on the top, the clearest space on the box I have five sticky notes, four of them variations of pink and purple. I’ve spelt out ‘W-I-S-H’ on four of them but on the fifth one, the blue one I wrote ‘BOX’ and at the bottom ‘Fighting!!~’ in black sharpie. Its special to me, through the years I’ve covered the outside, in it, it holds my dreams, wishes, and goals, all of them. I can remember making it, some of the wishes I wrote down. I haven’t touched it in over a year, but you know with me graduating maybe I should make more wish, going off to University this fall, leaving to live closer to campus I could use one more wish to make for old times’ sake.  I mean this is my last real summer with my friends. Bringing the box down and carefully setting it on my desk, pulling out a slip of paper, then cutting it in half I carefully write out my last wish.

‘I wish for the opportunity to do something truly meaningful, to meet people to create more memories with.’

Lifting the lid I slide the piece of paper in, closing the lid I smile to myself falling on my bed. ‘Today is it, today is the last day as a high school kid.’ I mumble to myself. ‘The last day I have before I graduate and head off into the world to make something of myself and the world.’
