Have you ever had to let go of someone without wanting to, even if your parents forced you to?

It's happened to me once, and it broke my heart into a million pieces.

Sandeul wasn't like all the other guys I knew. He made me smile when no one else could, and it didn't seem like a job for him...just something natural. Even when I would tell him to back off, he would hold me close (which was what I actually wanted him to do anyway). My parents didn't see what a good person he was, so they constantly bugged me to stay away. When I'd tell him what they would say, he would always answer with a smile, "I'll do whatever it takes to stay with you."

Which is why I still don't know what to make of everything that happened. I thought everything was perfect, but maybe Sandeul didn't feel the same? That day was supposed to be perfect for me, but he didn't show up. When I finally got home, my parents told me (for the last time) to break it off with him, and I answered them blankly, "Done."

It's been two years.

I think I've moved on.
