“I guess it’s still not easy to leave the past behind,” Jaewhan pants as he slides down the concrete, leaning on Taekwoon’s broad shoulder. It’s not really the first time he had risked his life for what he holds important. He’s been doing it a lot, leading a double life. The person beside him was no different.

“You can still move forward,” says the black haired lad who touched Jaehwan's face to check for scratches. “Are you alright?”

“Never better,” Jaehwan leans in but slowly backs away, swatting Taekwoon's cold hand and standing up. “This past, I can live with it by myself for the rest of my life… as long as Ken doesn’t get mixed up with it,”

“He won’t,” Taekwoon follows Jaewhan as he walks off the dark alley, dusting off his suit. He wonders how small his friend’s back had become compared to before he had left. How those shoulders sharpened and lowered with burden as he carries two lives in his palm, his own life and his twin brother.

“Jaehwan-ah,” he grabs the younger’s thin wrist and pulls him close to him.

“Your brother is my burden now,” Taekwoon states seriously, not to threaten but for reassurance. “It’s time for you to stop being his shelter and find your own refuge,”
