Shexu was well known for its flowers, food and beautiful landscapes, but they were also greatly known for their abilities.

Shexu was a magical place, there were 3 ranges that divided the country.

The first one, the citizens that were blessed with magical abilities, a normal citizen only had a simple ability like controlling fire, water or wind; they of course were capable of learning another one but it was forbidden for them to do so.

The second range are the citizens who served to the royal family at one moment of their life or are currently serving, they were similar to the normal citizens, the only difference was that they were allowed to learn at least 2 more abilities this with  the sole purpose of defending the royal members.

And lastly the third range, the members of the royal family that were born with a powerful ability, completely different of the basic ones, if a normal citizen was lucky enough to marry someone of the royalty, then they too would be able to acquire a powerful ability through training.

For the royalty, there was no limit, they could learn 2-5 or more abilities, it didn’t matter.

Shexu had a lot of unique traditions,  one of them was that the newborns were marked with a special Ink and the year of their birth would be permanently inked on their skin, this too included the royalty.

-

December 31st, 1995.

The nation was living in misery; it was like living in hell, screams of pain and desperation were heard  everyday when walking down the streets.

The citizens never thought their beloved country would turn into an unbearable nightmare.

Shexu, one of the few countries that was still run by a royal government was in chaos.

The king ordered to kill all the girls born that year but most importantly, the ones that had Jet black hair.

December 29th, 1995

The Queen owned a very special ability, Oneiromancy  she was capable of perceiving future events through her dreams. She predicted  natural disasters and accidents, thanks of that, they could prevent the worst and as a result most of the citizens blindly believed in her premonitions and worshipped her.

That night, the Queen awoke in the middle of her dreams, she dreamt about something that got her heart agitated and her eyes trembling in fear.

In her dream, she saw a young woman and a young man. She was sure that the man was her son, The Prince, but she didn’t have a clue about the girl identity.

The girl's' eyes were full of hate and pain, she was screaming and crying. She pointed a gun at the prince's chest and without hesitation; she fired. The prince fell on his knees and clutched his chest in pain before giving in to death.

The last thing the queen saw in her dream was the back of the girl's neck and the number 1995 written on it, her jet black hair almost covering the number.

She couldn’t allow any harm for her only son. The next day she talked with her husband, the King.

“My love, I am afraid that we cannot do anything about it.” The King calmly explained with a sorrowful expression, already accepting his son fate.

“You have to do something!” The queen shrieked with tears in her eyes, the desperation she was feeling was inexplicable, “Do you want our son dead?” She cried while pointing at the garden where the little prince was playing.

His name was Luhan and he was the crown prince.  He was a very loved child, not only by his family but by the citizens as well.

The King looked at his son through the window and his heart crushed at the thought of losing him. He returned his attention back to his wife, “What do you want me to do?” he asked, his eyes full of determination.

The Queen stopped crying and almost immediately, a little smile of relief adorned her face, she looked at the King and hugged him, “Kill all the girls born this year with black hair.” The Queen whispered into his ear, it was her selfish wish but she didn’t care at all. She wanted to save her son at any cost.

The King's' eyes widened as they pulled apart from the hug, “That’s insane! The country would never accept that, have you lost your mind?” He questioned, looking into her wife’s' eyes, “There should be another way.” He tried to persuade her.

The queen shook her head, tears falling down once again. She kneeled in front of him and cried harder.

“I beg you! If we do not do anything, that girl is going to kill him!” Screaming in desperation, she clung onto his legs.

“My love, please stand up.” The King said as he grabbed her arms, but the queen slapped his hands away.

“If you don’t kill them… I'll kill myself.” She vowed, still in tears. He panicked at her words. The king loved his wife with all his heart, he couldn’t allow such thing to happen.

The King fell on his knees and hugged her. “Don’t do that, I might die if you leave me.” He tightened the hug, scared that she would leave his side.

“Then… kill them and I would be by your side forever.” The Queen tiredly requested, her eyes were red due to all the crying and her body felt numb.

He stayed quiet for a minute then he nodded, “As you wish, my queen.”

The King knew that he was going to regret his decision, but he couldnt afford a day without his family.

December 30th, 1995.

The royal guards bursted into the houses of the families with girls born that year. They snatched the children from their mothers even if they begged, cried and screamed.

The King didn’t want a bloody massacre so he ordered to kill the girls with a lethal injection, but even if it was painless for the children, it was still a cruel act.

The parents tried to save their children using their abilities, but these were nothing compared to the Guards.

The citizens barely stepped out of their houses because it was chaotic; heartbroken cries from the mothers girls were heard at the streets of Shexu.

Janury 1st, 1996.

Instead of celebrating the New Year, the citizens of Shexu were armed and rebelled against their King they demanded an explanation.

The King decided that it was for the best to keep quiet. If he said the truth, then a war would unleash.

Instead of saying the truth, he decided to put in jail, those who dared to go against him. The loved Shexu suddenly converted into an unfair country.

Days later, the citizens stopped their protests and continued with their lives trying to forget the past events in fear of being thrown into jail.

Of course

Chapter 11: First, Happy Birthday again ♥

Poor Yerin... poor, poor, poor Yerin.
At first, I had a feeling that the chapter was moving too fast, but after finishing it and giving a second thought, it was just me haha xD ...poor Yerin. I'm happy in a way to see her react like that. What she has witness was too much for anybody her age and going forward without fully confronting herself would have been disastrous later. This way, even if the healing process will take a lot of time, she knows she has the boys to count on when things are too hard to handle them alone. So, yes, Yerin, cry it all out, you deserve a small break. I just hope she won't blindly seek revenge OTL guys, keep her safe too... please... I have high hopes for their gang OTL and yes, shipping her with Daehyun again, I can't help it xD

Now Luhan... I think Luhan finally realized that he's powerless in his current state and the importance of one day taking over the throne. Actually, I have a feeling he'll mature a lot in the following chapters because of these events and will finally take a stand rather than go against the wave... I don't know, I have high hopes for him too OTL he needs to play his next move carefully.

Argh, no Queen? I actually wanted to know what General Zhang felt about everything too, but guess I'm asking too much haha xD will wait for your next update~ fighting!!! ♥
