"Jenni-ah!? Jeenniii?! Aish really, where did this girl go?" Jimin asked himself as he ran around looking for his little sister. The sun was already starting to set and she was still nowhere to be found. Along with being annoyed and tired, he was also getting worried. Really though, where could a small 10 year old girl go?

"Did you find her yet?" A panting, out of breath Jungkook asked as he ran up to Jimin. " No, but why are you breathing so hard?" " We have to find her quickly before the sun sets! Ooh my god! How does she always manage to hide so well?!" Jungkook yelled before dashing off to look some more, completely ignoring Jimin's question. 

            Meanwhile, close by, Jenni was lying flat underneath bushes watching as Jimin and Jungkook ran the opposite way. They had been so close to her hiding spot, she had to hold her breath. As soon as they were out of ear shot she exhaled. " That was close," she whispered to herself. " Ha! Got you!" A face suddenly appeared in front of her. Jenni screamed out of shock before pushing the person away and rolling out from underneath her hiding spot. Dirt and fallen leaves stuck to the back of her overalls. She quickly turned around to find a sweaty 12 year old boy clutching his stomach in laughter on the ground. 

            " Kim Taehyung!" Jenni screamed as she stomped her foot. In the end she couldn't help but crack a smile before planting herself down next to the now calm boy, with the stupid but bright grin on his face. " How do you always manage to find me?" Jenni pouted as she pulled blades of grass from the ground. Taehyung sat up abruptly before looking at Jenni seriously. " I'll always find you Jen-jen." They continued to gaze at each other for what seemed like hours, but was really only seconds.  But before either one could break the silence that had settled between them they heard a familiar voice calling out their names. Standing up they turned to see Jimin and Jungkook waving them over. "Lets go before it gets dark," Taehyung said before grabbing Jenni's hand and running towards their impatient friends. 

            Jenni had been 8 when Taehyung, who was 10 and the same age as Jimin, had moved in next door with his younger brother Jungkook and their older brother Seokjin, along with their parents. Since then two years had passed and the four of them were inseparable. Which also brought their parents closer together. For Jenni it had been like gaining 3 new brothers. But lately something had changed, and she had no idea what it was.

            As they got closer Jenni let go of Taehyung's hand and ran towards Jimin. " Oppa did you get worried?" She teased. Jimin scoffed before replying in a serious tone,"why would I worry about someone as ugly as you huh?" He crossed his arms and pretended not see the pout on Jenni's face. "Why are you calling our pretty Jenni ugly huh? You punk!"

All four kids turned to see Seokjin sauntering toward them. To say he was cute was an understatement. From the beginning, Jenni felt butterflies every time he was near. But she tried her best not to blush around him in fear of being teased by the boys.

He knelt down in front of Jenni and pinched her cheeks before cooing how cute and pretty she was. Jenni's face fell in an instant. Of course he sees her as nothing more than the little girl she was. He,was after all, four years older. Jenni sighed to herself dejectedly before following the boys home.

           She lagged behind, taking her sweet time and admiring her surroundings.  Fall was beginning and the leaves on all the trees were turning pretty shades of orange,yellow, and dark red. As she gazed up at the leaves that slowly yet gracefully fell to the ground, a gust of wind blew causing a flurry of them to come falling down. With her hands held high, Jenni closed her eyes and spun around in tiny circles. Feeling the leaves brush against her face and fingertips, leaving behind a tingling sensation on her skin.Unknown to her though, All four boys had stopped to stare at her. None of them, not even Jimin, could deny just how pretty their Jenni was.

            How beautiful..Maybe..Someday? Wait, no! What are you thinking man..shes too young for you Seokjin couldn't help but think to himself. Glancing around to the other three boys though caused him to smirk, besides, it seems like shes already spoken for. He chuckled to himself before clapping his hands together, breaking everyone out of their trance. " Palli, we have to get home in time for dinner or our parents will kill me." He stated before walking ahead. A knowing smile still plastered on his face. Jenni caught a leaf and decided to save it in her scrapbook when she got home. She would title it later on, Cherished Moments.

            It wasn’t long before they reached their houses that settled in a nice neighborhood. They weren’t rich but they certainly weren’t poor as well. One could say they were well above the middle class. With Jimin and Jenni’s parents both working as lawyers for a well known law firm and The Kim family as CEO’s of a prospering company.

            Instead of seperating for dinner though, all the kids knew very well that their parents were together waiting for them in the Park’s backyard. It was almost like an unspoken tradition their fathers started that would allow them to spend every Sunday dinner together.

            As they walked in Jungkook noticed Jenni behind them admiring a leaf with a pretty mixture of yellow and orange. With a sneaky glint in his eyes he slowed his pace until he was walking next to her. Jenni didn’t notice as she was to busy twirling the leaf, watching the colors swirl together. As carefully as he could, he slowly reached over and yanked the leaf out of Jenni’s hands before running off toward their parents. “Yah!” Jenni ran after him but even though they were the same age he was a good few inches taller than her. She cursed his long legs in her head.

            Jungkook laughed as he ran around the garden trying to keep her leaf away from her. He turned around to see Jenni with an angry but determined look on her face that he couldn’t help but think was cute. Just when he was about to turn he ran into something hard and fell back. Crushing the leaf beneath him. He looked up to see the big oak tree the Parks had in their backyard, and Jenni who froze next time him and the pieces of what was left of the leaf.

            With a scowl on her face she turned and stomped of toward the table. Jungkook just shrugged it off. I mean it was just a leaf anyways right? There were plenty of those lying around. He hopped over to the table and sat down next to Jenni with Taehyung, Jimin, and Seokjin across from them.

            As soon as he sat down though, Jenni immediately got up and moved to the other side. “ Oppa switch seats with me please,” she pleaded with Jimin who looked as if he had no intention of moving. “Wae?”

            “Just cause. I don’t want to sit next to a thief,” Jenni pouted with a deep scowl on her face. Everyone at the table now had their eyes on the little girl who barely ever got angry. Jimin glanced at Jungkook who had his eyes glued to Jenni with an unreadable expression on his face. Looking back to his little sister he could see that her frown was gone and in its place was a look of hurt.

            Without thinking twice he got up and grabbed her shoulders. Motioning her to sit down in his seat as he went to sit in hers. “Well this is new,” Jenni’s mother pointed out. Jungkook’s mother shook her head in agreement, but both mothers thought their childrens little quirl was cute. “What did our Jungkookie do to our Jen-jen hm?” Jungkook’s mother asked with a raised brow.

            Neither child would answer as they both sat their quietly poking their food. Even though they were just children, their silence between one another caused the atmosphere to become tense and awkward.

            “Jungkook?” His father spoke up causing the said boy to look up at him. “Yes abeoji?”

            “Remember this son, the woman is always right even if shes wrong,” he said in a wise tone. His wife next to him scoffed,”I’m glad you’ve learned yourself.” This caused everyone at the table to laugh, easing the tension a bit. Both children though continued to remain quiet throughout the dinner.

            As soon as dinner was finished Jenni ran off to her room to avoid Jungkook, who watched her with sad eyes leave. He didn’t mean to ruin her leaf, if he had known she would be mad about it he wouldn’t have even touched it.

            Jimin nudged Jungkook, one eyebrow raised. “What’d you do to her anyway?” Jungkook just groaned while burying his face in his hands. Jimin laughed at his friends well deserved misery. Of course he would be on his sisters side. She was the only one he had.

            Upstairs in her room, Jenni laid across her bed muttering bad things about Jungkook. Why is he so annoying?! He doesn’t like it when I touch his stuff but he always touches mine…gosh boys are soo dumb. “Not me though right Jen-jen? Taehyung oppas not dumb right?” Taehyung asked as he came into her room. Jenni glanced at him but didn’t say anything as she went back to pouting. “Hey, don’t be mad anymore. You know whatever it is Kook did, he didn’t mean to,” Taehyung tried to reason as he sat down on the edge of her bed.

            As mad as she still wanted to be, she knew Taehyung was right. She shouldn’t continue this way over an accident. Thinking back to the look on Jungkook’s face during dinner caused guilt to surge through her. He was barely eating his dinner, and the kid was like a eating machine. Maybe that’s why hes so tall? She thought to herself randomly.

            With a sigh, she sat up next to Taehyung and decided she’d go find Jungkook. “ How do you always know what to say?” She asked the boy next to her. He gave her a gentle smile before replying,” I’ll always be here for you Jen-jen.” They gazed at each other with soft smiles on their faces.I’m so lucky to have Oppa.

            “Yah! What are you doing in my sisters room?!” They both jumped in surprise and turned to see Jimin standing at the door with Jungkook hiding behind him. If it weren’t for the current issue between him and Jenni, Jungkook would be cracking up with laughter at the shocked look on his hyungs face.

            “Oppa you scared us!” Jenni yelled back while standing up at the same time. “ Serves you right. Your too young to have boys in your room.” Jimin stated firmly. “ Well gee Appa, when can I have boys in my room?” Ignoring the appa part Jimin pretended to think about it before throwing his hands in the air and shouting,”Never!! Now get out Taehyung-ah!”

            Taehyung just laughed before slowly making his way out of Jenni’s room. Taking his sweet time on purpose. Jimin followed after with eyes formed into little slits. That left Jungkook and Jenni. They both stood their staring at each other quietly. “Soo, do you wanna get some ice cream?” Jenni asked, her voice barely audible if it weren’t for the dead quiet. Jungkooks face slowly lit up before he walked over and held her hand,” of course! Its ice cream!” He yelled as he pulled Jenni out of the room. And just like that they were ok again.

            Before they could walk down stairs though Jungkook paused abruptly and turned towards Jenni. With a serious look in his eyes he gazed down at her,” I promise to get you another leaf someday, prettier than the one I ruined.”

            “Its ok Kookie, it was just a leaf anyway,” Jenni tried to shrug it off but Jungkook shook his head,” I promise.” Jenni looked at him like he was weird but shook her head yes anyway. The sooner she agreed the sooner she’ll get ice cream. Satisfied with her answer, Jungkook continued to lead her downstairs. He kept all his promises. Especially the ones made to his best friend.
