Moonlight glinted on the silver surface of the dagger as she poised the blade to attack; its hilt cold against her palm. A fight between a human and a werewolf is not a fight at all, it's suicide on the part of the human and murder for the werewolf. Her chances of surviving if Jaejoong took her seriously is zero. Her cheats, which Yoochun generously labelled as 'strategies', would run out eventually. But she hoped that she could hold up until her father comes. Surely, he would have heard her screams.

  "The dagger doesn't suit you, my dear. Hand it over before you cut yourself."     The patronizing tone in his voice only fueled her anger. He was taunting her, bellitling her because not only is she human but also a female. The list of why she hated this guy got longer by the minute. But she won't falter. "Lose your concentration, you lose the fight. Focus, Soo Jin."     She swung her dagger in a diagonal arc and he moved to his left. "Strike!" She flicked her left wrist and flung another dagger. He dodged it, taking another step back. Soo Jin lunged forward, lifted her arm and stabbed. She missed. He smirked. He grabbed her right arm, exposing his right side where she plunged another dagger.     He hissed. Blood poured out from the wound and she freed herself from his grasp. She had no other option. He would heal and without any weapon, she was dead meat. So she did what a normal human would do. She ran.     I am not running away from a fight. This is part of my strategy. Besides, I have to check on Jong In.     Growing up in a pack of werewolves, Soo Jin developed the stamina to run longer distances. She was five when she trailed after her father and brother to the back of the house. She asked where they were going. Instead of answering her question, her father shifted into a huge dark grey wolf, lowered himself on the ground and motioned her to mount on his back. She had the most wonderful time. Since then, she would join the pack in their morning runs. Hyun Joong would sometimes carry her while a four year old Jong In ran with the other kids and their trainer. She started joining the pack runs on her two legs a year later. Not because she was taunted by the other werewolf kids her age, but because she wanted to prove something to herself. Jong In, on the other hand, would often break away from his little pack and run with her.     Little did she know she was already training for this moment. Having lost her sandals when she scaled down the tree, she ran barefoot, heedless of the pine needles, thorns and sharp rocks piercing her skin. Behind her, she could hear him laughing maniacally. His voice reaching her like claws. It only fuelled her determination to flee. He didn't seem to be following her but she wouldn't risk stopping to catch her breath. She took off to the left, brushed herself on the fragrant jasmine, in hopes of disguising her scent. Struggling with the vines and the branches, Soo Jin carved a path and finally got closer to where her brother was. The sickening sounds of breaking bones and gnashing of teeth grew louder and she was welcomed with the sight of blood and fallen bodies. In the center of them all was a beautiful silver wolf, majestic and unwavering.      Go Jong In! She couldn't help but mentally cheer for her brother while doing a fist pump. She didn't dare take another step, else distract him. Instead, she thought of what she could do to help him until she remembered spotting mums and the deadly rosary peas nearby. The mums would at least cause irritation once her target comes into contact with the flower head or kill them on the spot with the legume. She hoped she wouldn't resort to the second option.     She moved back to get on with her plan but was met with a solid chest.      "Werewolves love a good chase." His velvet smooth voice tickled her ears, sending shivers down the length of her spine. "The rush keeps our blood pumping." He laid both hands on her bare shoulders and she stood frozen. He chuckled darkly. "Not happy to see me?" She remained silent and he pressed a kiss on the shell of her ear. "You can't escape me."      With an arm around her shoulder and the other below her chest, he pushed her forward. The movement shook her from her stupor. He will use her as bait. She panicked. Jong In must not see her like this.      "Jaejoong," she struggled but he wouldn't let her. "Jaejoong, I... please, you're hurting me," she implored in a deceptively weak voice, making him relax. She twisted her body to face him.     "So, my princess prefers this position?" Oh, how she wanted to wipe the smug look off his face.      "If...if I go with you..." her voice trembled but she kept it soft. "Will you order the werewolves to stop attacking my brother?"     "Hmmm? I don't think you understand. You will go with me, no matter what. You-" He paused and appeared to be considering her request as his dark eyes studied her face. After a few tense seconds, his eyes flickered. "Nothing is free, princess. What will you do in exchange for your brother?"     She gulped. The glint in his eyes and the smirk on his lips told her what he wanted. Her heart drummed in her chest for what she was about to do. Her breathing turned shallow as she stared at his pink lips. Before she lost her courage, she tiptoed, closed her eyes and pressed her lips against his. He stood perfectly still. And she wondered if she was a bad kisser. Not that she had that much experience. He wasn't responding. She tentatively touched his lower lip with her tongue, and swiped it, ever so lightly.      A growl rumbled from his chest and he lifted her off the ground, wrapping his arms possesively around her as he gave in to her, claiming her lips in a searing kiss. It was intoxicating and her cheeks burned. He made her dizzy. She slid her hands up and buried her fingers in his jet black hair. It was incredibly soft. She tugged and pulled, earning another groan. She arched her back and he bent his head, not wanting to release her. And that is when she stabbed her fingers in both his ears and bit his tongue.     He staggered back from the combined shock and sudden pain. She eased herself away from him and sprinted towards her brother, mindless of the werewolves she was heading straight into.     "JONG IN!"     He was tackled down by two werewolves but he shook them off the moment he heard her voice. He got on fours and lifted his head to see Soo Jin running towards him. Seeing that she was alive and had escaped her captor, he could finally breathe. Fear numbed him the moment he heard her scream and disappeared from his line of sight. He was close to losing his mind with worry and his enemies used it to their advantage. Add to the fact that he couldn't reach his father through their bond.      "YOU'LL REGRET THIS!" an animalistic voice - half-man, half-beast- growled and he pulled his gaze from her to see a man emerging from the trees.     Jong In dodged an incoming attack and rammed through an incoming werewolf.
