Because their powers are similar and even though Sungyeol is slightly stronger, because of Hoya’s lightening and Dongwoo’s wind in addition to their face off, they blow up flying to each end of the field.

The audience grows even more silent as the explosion was bright and loud and frightening.

A large thud is heard followed by a scream and Yongguk stands up immediately to search for Sungyeol’s body. He quickly scans the field full of smoke, flames, and whirlwinds when he finally spots Sunggyu hovering over a charred body on the ground and Dongwoo holding onto the long limbed body in his shaking arms.

He feels relief but at the same time extreme concern. His heart sinks when he realizes that Sungyeol isn’t moving.

Sungyeol doesn’t look like he’s breathing. Sunhwa grabs onto Himchan’s arm looking away from Sungyeol’s body and her heart cracks a little more with every passing second that has gone by.

Himchan just pats his sister’s back and doesn’t take his eyes away from the scene before him.

He knew that now, a shift is occurring.

The real fight has begun because there, they had their first death of the night.

Sunggyu knew right away as the white light appeared that they had self-destructed. He quickly searched for Sungyeol right as it happened and started running to try to catch Sungyeol’s flying body from the impact of the collision and the overwhelming powers but it was too late.

The impact of the fall had broken Sungyeol.

 Dongwoo managed to get to Sungyeol first but just a second late after Sungyeol had hit the ground.

Dongwoo freezes, out of breath from running and stares down at Sungyeol’s charred black face. Dongwoo then kneels in front of the boy, picking up his body gently.

He reaches out and wipes Sungyeol’s face cleaning off the char. His fingers shake and Sungyeol’s pale skin contrasts with the dirt and char on his face.

Dongwoo starts to tremble and something in him snaps. His tears overflowing from his eyes, he lets out a scream in agony.

Sunggyu finally reached them and stares at the scene before him. His body starts to go still like stone and he can’t think. All he could do was look at his dongsaengs in pain.

“Sungyeol, wake up.” Dongwoo whispers but there’s no response. Sungyeol’s body who was so warm is now so cold.

“Sungyeol, please,” Dongwoo whispers again and Sunggyu’s heart breaks. He hovers over Sungyeol and Dongwoo and he can’t bring himself to look at them anymore.

So he looks away and formulates a plan in his mind to come out strong and bring back victory because now it’s not a fight between brothers anymore, it’s a fight to win back something they have lost.

Sungjong miraculously catches Myungsoo in the event of all this and kneels with Myungsoo in his arms. Woohyun and Hoya rushes over to them and Myungsoo breathes heavily, his face dirty with sand, dirt and char.

Myungsoo heaves in and out air coughing and he grabs onto Sungjong’s robe tightly,
