KYUHYUN   “Hey! Where are we going? What has gotten into you?!” Angela was trying to wriggle herself free from my grip as I dragged her out of Zee’s pet hotel.   “Aish! Can’t you hold still?!” I told her as I tightened my grip on her and she went quiet for awhile. Good girl.   She pulled her hand away from me and crossed her arms as she slightly turned sideways, facing away from me. Now, what’s with her attitude?   “Something wrong?” I asked innocently, although I kind of have an idea already about what’s bothering her.   Angela glanced at me with a miffed expression then heaved a long sigh. “Nothing.”   “Hey, how I about I treat you to dinner?” I offered kindly, hoping she would lighten up a bit.   I may not be the best guy to understand girl language, but I’m just certain that when you ask them what’s wrong and they say nothing, it means the exact opposite.   Angela shot me a quizzical look and before she could even start questioning me by my sudden act of kindness, I pre-empted her. “You saved my earlier. That’s the least I could do. Besides, this is a one-time thing. It would be such a loss for you if you’ll decline.”   I told her as if I wouldn’t take no for an answer.   “Seriously? Aren’t you afraid that your fans might run after you again?” She asked incredulously. ”And if that happens, don’t expect me to save you again.”   I rolled my eyes at her. “Well, are you hungry or not?”   “Well, I am.” She said meekly. “But—   I cut her off as I grabbed her wrist and hailed a cab. “Let’s go then.”   I have no idea why I am doing this. If the others find out, I’m pretty sure I’ll get bombarded with their endless teasing again. It’s what Angela might be worrying about that’s why she’s acting this way. But right now, for some reasons, it doesn’t really bother me. Could it be because I got to know her more in that mini-research of ours? Maybe but I don’t know.   What I know is…it’s just what I feel like doing right now.   I was gutsy enough to take the public transportation since after we got out of Zee’s pet hotel, I covered up myself well so I won’t be recognized. Good thing I always bring a hoodie and face mask with me. This time around, I didn’t wear anything that would trigger the people’s instincts that it’s Cho Kyuhyun of Super Junior right infront of them. Besides, our travel time didn’t really take long. We got down at Shindong hyung’s internet café since I left my car there. No time to ride it while you’re being chased.   When we got inside my car, Angela was reprimanding me for taking a cab because she found it to be expensive. Well, it’s not like she’s the one who paid. I told her I would have opted to take the bus too since well, it was more cost-efficient but there’s a higher risk for me to be recognized and we’ll end up doing another round of fun run around Seoul. I explained and that shut her up.   At least for awhile.   “Don’t you have an early flight tomorrow?” Angela asked as soon as I started driving. “Have you even finished packing up your stuff?”   “Can you at least be a little discreet in showing your excitement about me leaving?” I said with a heavy scoff. “Besides, I’ve been doing this for so long. Packing quickly is one of my specialty skills.”   Which is true…I guess? Kekeke.   “Whatever. Now, where are you taking me?”   “Didn’t I tell you already? Do I have to keep on repeating myself?” She’s really such a stubborn girl.   “I know we’re having dinner but why do we have to eat outside? Why not have it at your place?” She was asking in a lawyer-like manner.   “Aish! Can’t you just sit still and not ask so many questions?”   “How can I not? Your actions right now are really questionable.” There was a short pause. I didn’t answer her right away, since I was hoping she’d stop asking.   “Do you need something from me?” She asked in a suspicious tone as she glanced at me, her eyes squinting.   I scoffed at her again as I glanced at her shortly before the traffic lights turned to green. “Do you really think I do everything in an exchange basis? Who do you think am I? Rumplestiltskin?”   Angela chuckled and I couldn’t help but be amused as this was the first time she showed some signs of happiness the whole time we were together.   Okay…Why did I even bother about that? Aish!  Erase! Erase!   “Well, the last time you were nice to me, you asked me to be your housekeeper in exchange. Can you blame me?” She said as she stuck her tongue out at me.   I just shook my head and said no more so the subject could be dropped.   It didn’t take long before we reached downtown, that same place where we picked up dinner before. And yes, it was also where I bought her jacket, which up to now, Angela still has no idea about me getting it for her. She really believed that it was Zee’s and I think it’s better off that way.   Speaking of which, I noticed her wearing it each single day last week. Did she really like it that much? I remembered what Zee told me at the showcase that nearly tripped me down my steps. And remembering it now is giving me this weird feeling in my stomach. Yeesh!   Oh well. I might just be starving.   “So what would you like to eat?” I asked as soon as I turned the car’s engine off.   Angela shrugged her shoulders. “Well, I don’t know much about Korean cuisine apart from Kimchi and Kimbap. So I’ll leave the ordering part to you.”   Hmm. Not a bad idea.  “Okay, be my guest then.” Someone needs a Korean food trip anyway.   We got down and started our food hunting. And of course, I made sure that I was perfectly disguised before going out. Thanks to Angela’s constant nagging.   Since I didn’t really feel like eating inside a restaurant, I decided to go for a take-out and eat at this certain hiding place of mine. I don’t want to risk the chances of being exposed. I just want to have a peaceful dinner. That’s all.   I would usually go for rice and some meat viands but I felt like going for noodles tonight. The only dishes that I got are Japchae, Seafood Ddeokbokki, Jajangmyeon and a couple of side dishes such as Kimchi and Kongnamul. I did get some Hotteok for Angela too because well, she requested it. I told her I was treating her anyway so there.  She seems to really like it a lot.   We ate our dinner at this hiding place I’ve been telling about. If you’d ask me, the place was nothing special in terms of appearance. It was a mere plain river in view, surrounded by lamp posts and a couple of benches for us to sit on. I still like to go here though whenever I would like some peace of mind. I’m not really worried about intruders coming in here. That’s why I call it my perfect hiding place. Kekeke.   “Honestly, I still don’t understand what came upon you for this sudden treat but thanks anyway.” Angela said before taking another serving of the Ddeokbokki.   “I told you, you saved me earlier.” I said in between bites. “Anyway, now that I think about it, there’s something I’ve been wanting to ask you.”   I remembered all those information I found out about her from earlier. I’m really curious as hell now .   “So, I guess that’s my form of repayment for you?”  She said as she opened the Jajangmyeon this time.   “Well, you could say that.” Since this is the only way I could make you spill the beans. Kekeke.   “Fire away.”    “Why did you run away?”   Angela stopped munching as soon as the words came out of me. Her widened eyes got me worried for a second that she choked but well, she didn’t. Thank God. If something happens to her, my hyungs and Zee will kill me.   “I knew you’d ask that sooner or later.” She said as soon as she swallowed.   “Well, you’ve been living with us for almost a month now. Don’t you think it’s about time for us to know?”   “I thought you didn’t care about my personal problems.” She said suspiciously with one eyebrow raised.   I placed my chopsticks aside and crossed my arms. “I thought we were trying to get along?”   Angela looked at me with a shocked expression. “We are?”   T____T   I heaved a sigh with my eyes closed as I massaged the bridge of my nose. “I’m not really in the mood to argue, Angela. The members are always biting my head off for not treating you well. So we might try getting along, for both of our sakes.”   Angela looked at me in scrutiny, as if she was trying to see whether I was joking or not. “Well, I guess it will take awhile for me to get used to seeing a nice Kyuhyun.”   “You might even miss it since I’ll be gone for two weeks.” And before she could make any protest, I shifted back the discussion to our original topic. “Anyway, you still haven’t told me your reason yet.”   Angela placed down her chopsticks then wiped off the excess sauces from the Ddeokbokki and Jajangmyeon on her lips with a tissue.   “Okay, how do I even begin?” She paused for awhile as she looked at the sky as if the answers to her dilemma will fall down on her.   “Have you ever felt that there was so much pressure in your life that you just wanted to leave everything and never go back?” She began as she faced me again.   “Everyone said I’ve been living the dream life of everyone. Sure there are some perks like meeting famous people, being in high class social events and the like but trust me, I’m not as lucky as everyone perceives it to be.” A bitter smile appeared across her lips.   “I might have come from a well-off family but it’s not really the best out there when it comes to giving love and support. At least that’s how things became after my mother passed away. She died of leukaemia.”   I stopped eating midway and fixed my gaze on her. If there’s anything that hurts the most, that would be losing either one of your parents or both.   “My grandfather, my father’s father, didn’t really like her because she didn’t have Chinese blood. She was a pure Filipino with Spanish-like features. My father’s half-Chinese. That’s why I have only ¼ of Chinese blood.”   Oh, that’s where Angela must have gotten her big, round eyes and tall nose. That explains her non-Asian look.   “But despite of that, I was happy with my parents. My father loved my mother a lot. We were all happy. It was just surprising how my grandfather didn’t disown my father, just like how traditional Chinese families would do, or at least in the movies that I watched. I had a feeling that my father was his favourite among his children but ironically, I’m his least favourite among his grandchildren. ” She said with a sneer.   “Why would you say so?”   Angela shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know with that old bat. All he sees are my flaws. It’s like everything I do for him is never enough. And then it reached the point wherein I’ve had enough of him…”   “So are you saying he’s the reason why you left?”   “It was just one of the reasons.Everything was piling up. There’s also my father who’s suddenly decided to get married to his girlfriend whom I don’t really like. Then the society was playing a major role too. It just how I am not even a celebrity yet they follow my every move and…” She looked down on her lap and I saw her give a pained smile. “They call me all the nasty names they could think of when in fact they don’t even know anything about me apart from being a spoiled brat heiress, as they have put it. , , , promiscuous, countless profanities…you name it. That’s my middle name for them. ”   I suddenly remembered the article that I read from earlier. Tsktsk! She’s not even a celebrity yet she already has so many antis.   Shame was creeping upon me after everything that I heard from her. I didn’t take my eyes off Angela and I noticed how the tough, stubborn Angela that I know was replaced by a fragile one, one that needs to be comforted and cared for. Who would have thought that she was going through such thing?   I know Angela and I haven’t gotten along well since day one of our encounter but those people hating on her are downright harsh and unreasonable. Well, of course, what do you expect? That ‘s very typical of antis.   “And then they would stalk all my online accounts and bombard me with tons of hate messages. That’s the reason why I deactivated all of my online accounts.”   “Ah, so that’s the reason why we can’t find you on Facebook.” I muttered out loudly.   Oops. That was supposed to remain in my thoughts. Aish! Kyuhyun, you pabo!   “What?” Angela looked surprised, yet her face just looks so…
