Chapter 2: Graduation

SMTown Light

There were whispers coming from the guests in the auditorium as a female with long brown hair with bangs slightly concealing her eyebrows, considerably tall, and pale skin stood at the beginning of the stairs that led to the stage. “Choi Sulli.” Her nerves had gotten the best of her as she stumbled on the first step before she ascended the precariously narrow stairs. Her light green heels clacked against the wooden stage while she made her way to a middle aged male who was short, slightly balding, and a little plump. “Congratulations.” He handed her a medium sized case before she turned and the crowd had been clapping. Her eyes nervously shifted to a female with long brown hair that was pulled into a pony tail and she had been giving an icy glare that made her uncomfortable surrounded by girls ,who were happily clapping on the left side of the room. Once successfully navigating down the stairs and making it back to her seat, A male with short brown hair who had a grumpy look on his face and wearing a dark blue button up shirt with a light blue tie and black dress pants with sneakers had taken the stage and slowly walked across giving a faint smile to the elder male and descended the stairs taking a seat on the right side of her.

Instead of the left side clapping for him also, It was the right side which had been mainly comprised of males which had caused Sulli to worry about the male next to her knowing they would never have contact. “Sehun...... After the ceremony is over in case I don't see you. Take care.” His gaze had been focused on a male with stylized black hair take the stage while he barely wore any seeing as his outfit had been comprised of dress pants that had been converted into shorts and a tight fitting white dress shirt with the top three buttons open. “Sulli..... Worry about yourself.” His tone was cold as the other male had already taken his seat which was cue for a female with brown hair pulled into a bun to take the stage. She had been wearing a light blue dress and was wearing matching heels. Once the other female had taken her seat, the older male on the stage went into a long winded speech that was unnecessarily long.

Once his speech had ended, the four teens stood up and made their exit as the crowd had stood to applaud them for graduating. Sulli walked carefully leading the others out of the auditorium as her eyes fell on her parents happily clapping and smiling at her. She couldn't help but smile as they walked to the back of the building which led to outside. Sehun brushed pass Sulli and opened the door letting the humid heat pour in from the outside. The only advantage was the shade provided by the tree that had grown too close to the building. Sehun and Kai made their way to the other side of the courtyard leaving Sulli alone with the girl. “So Krystal, Are you moving in with them straight away or staying home for one more night?” Krystal kept her eyes plastered to the door trying to see if she could find her sister until Sulli snapped her out of it. “I'm going tonight. That way I can have Sica explain everything to me before tomorrow. And I can pass my knowledge to you.” Sulli just gave a weird look to the female as a tall fair skinned male wearing a plaid shirt, blue jeans, and a beanie over his hair ran over to her trapping her in a bear hug. “Yah! Lay. You're squishing me!” Instead of putting her down safely on the ground, He spun in a circle effectively making Sulli and Krystal dizzy from watching. She was safely put on the ground before she punched him playfully on his arm and two more girls had made their presence known. “KRYSTAL!!!!!” Sulli and Lay both almost went deaf and turned to see a girl with blonde hair and a green jacket covering a green dress. Another girl with dark blonde hair and white fluffy dress sighed “Jessica, can you warn someone when you’re around? You almost made Sulli go deaf.” She said as she put her hands on her hips trying to appear angry.

Well I'm pretty sure I'm not invisible Taeyeon.” Lay sounded a little sad that Taeyeon hadn't included him in being deaf which he would have continued till she smiled apologetically. “Sorry Lay, why don’t you go poof over there with your little buddies?” Sulli glanced to see Krystal had suddenly looked over in the direction where a group of boys were standing and Kai had been staring back at her. “Come on Krystal. We have to get you home so you can get your things. Do you need a ride Sulli?” Jessica stood there looking at her with blonde bangs covering her eyebrows as Lay had muttered something about Kai poofing. She just shook her head before grabbing the male's arm and gripped his arm tightly till he spoke up. “I'm giving her a ride. Our family is having a celebration tonight for her graduating.” His tone sounded slightly forced as the two girls eyed him with suspicion in their stare before they both hugged Sulli slightly crushing her sides and almost caused her to pass out. “We'll be by later to pick you up with your things. Victoria wants you guys there a.s.a.p so you can meet everybody.” Jessica and Krystal walked off as Taeyeon stood in her spot waiting for them to get out of hearing distance. “Lay tell your leader Victoria will be in contact about neutral zones.” She scuttled away which led to Lay and Sulli to slowly move from their spots and head to his car.

She felt his arm placed around her shoulders as he led her to his car before they got into his car and drove off towards their parents’ house. The scenery had changed from a bustling town to a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of the town.

The car had come to a halt in front of a two story house that had been painted a pale yellow and a porch that stretched around the house. They got out of the car and walked to the house in silence and it was painfully obvious that Lay wanted to speak about something. They opened the front door and their parents were wearing party hats and holding a cake. “CONGRATULATIONS SULLI!!” She couldn't help but laugh at seeing Lay in a party hat making him seem like a little kid. She walked forward and hugged her parents as they congratulated her. Their mother had motioned for Lay to join in the hug as their father went to cut the cake. He dropped the blade and caught it by the blade before dropping it again. Sulli instinctively picked the knife up and she watched Lay reach out to take their father's hand. “Dad...... You need to be more careful from now on. Me and Sulli won't be around to fix you every time.” He withdrew his hand and the cut on their father's hand had been fully healed and he rubbed where the cut was.

I know, You kids just spoil your parents. We know that it's much safer for all of us that you stay with the others instead of staying here and causing more conflict.” Sulli had walked into the kitchen to place the knife into the sink barely hearing her father's statement before going back and celebrating for a couple of hours. The time for Sulli to pack had arrived and Lay sighed. “Sulli, I need to go. Mom, Dad, I will visit you again when I can.” Her brother pulled her into a hug before whispering into her ear. “I'll make sure you stay safe. Don't worry about any of the guys.” She smiled before nodding. “I understand. I will see you when we can.” He ruffled her hair before making an exit and she quickly went into her room before changing into a pair of comfortable blue jeans and a dark green sweatshirt.

Time passed quickly as there was a soft knock on the door which opened without her approval to reveal Jessica, wearing plain sweatpants and a Pororo shirt, was behind it. She shut the door behind her and took a seat on the floor looking through a box that had been filled with books. “You know. With all of these books the boxes will be heavy. I hope you enjoy carrying them.” She just smiled as there was another knock on the door and Taeyeon just barged in wearing a matching purple sweat suit. “So I guess my privacy will be violated a lot.” There was sarcasm laced in the words as Taeyeon laughed knowing she was right. “Sica. Come Victoria keeps calling me and asks what is taking so long before hanging up.” Sulli just stood up a gripped her suitcases that held enough clothes and accessories with toiletries for a month as Taeyeon picked up the box full of books without any trouble at all.

Note to self. Don't make her angry.” Jessica giggled at what Sulli muttered as Taeyeon picked up the box that had movies in it. The three females slowly walked down the stairs till they reached the living room and Krystal had been sitting on the sofa speaking to her mother and father about Sulli being able to visit. She had tears forming on the edge of her eyes as Sulli sat her bags down and her mother and father quickly moved to give her a hug. “Umma. Appa. Please don't cry. I'll make sure to visit often and speak to you when I have the chance.” Tears stung the latter's eyes as she pulled away and picked her bags back up putting on a fake smile. “Good bye Umma. Good bye Appa.” The four females exited the house and headed for a pink S.U.V before Sulli just looked at Jessica who laughed at her expression. “What? It's not my car. Blame Tiffany.” There was some conviction in her tone as Taeyeon had a pang of hurt strike across her face.

After the others basically were climbing into the car and Sulli just getting in normally, Jessica drove off with her lead foot on the pedal. Sulli didn't have a chance to get a good look at the house she grew up in mainly because she was held against her seat by how fast the car was moving. It was shocking she didn't get a ticket as the car stopped in the middle of the town where a tall four story green house had stood with more girls sitting on the porch. “Time to meet your new family.” They had slipped out of the car as one of the girls had run over. Her hair was long and red that cascaded against her pale skin which seemed to pop because of the amount of pink she had been wearing. She had to be Tiffany. “Jessica you got mud on my car. I told you to let Taeyeon to drive because she drives like an elderly lady.” Taeyeon, who had been pulling things out of the car, overheard her and searched her pockets to find something to throw at her.

Sulli had been confused as to what had happened before more girls came over and started introducing themselves with some familiar faces that made me more comfortable. A short girl with short curly blonde hair, who was wearing matching green sweatshirt and sweatpants, had volunteered to help out with carrying things. “I'm Lee Soon-Kyu. But everybody calls me Sunny. It's nice to.....” Before she could finish her sentence, a taller female with long brown hair wearing green overalls and a gray shirt underneath had gripped the bag she was going for and laughed when she tried to use aegyo on her. “It doesn't work on people taller than you Sunny.” The tall female turned to see Sulli and she held her hand out while smiling brightly. “I'm Choi Soo-Young. But you can call me Sooyoung.” Before Sulli could shake her hand, she was tackled from behind by a female with blonde hair and was wearing a pair of multicolored shorts and a colorful tee shirt. “You're finally here Sulli. Now I won't have to be all alone till tomorrow.” She just laughed at the girl who had positioned herself so she was sitting on her stomach. “Luna. You can get off of me now.“ Her words had been covered with giggles but what she didn't see was the other girls emptying the car of luggage and taking it into the house.

Luna finally let Sulli stand on her own before dragging into the grand house filled with girls all over the place. It was overwhelming seeing a mixture of faces she saw in school and others she couldn't remember. There was a male with short blonde hair wearing a light blue sweater and matching sweatpants in the corner of the main room messing with a female that had long curly hair pulled into a ponytail wearing a matching red and yellow cardigan outfit who was reading a book. Sulli was visibly shocked as she didn't expect to see a male in an all female house. “AMBER!!! Leave Seohyun alone. Go find Victoria so she can inform us on the new arrivals.” The voice didn't belong to a body as a girl with blonde hair wearing a jean jacket that concealed a light pink shirt and jeans appeared out of thin air scaring Sulli who let out a shriek. She turned around and smiled before eying her curiously while poking her. “Is she one of the new arrivals? I'm Hyoyeon. It's nice to meet....” She had been trampled by two girls who rushed to introduce themselves. One had a hat covering her cascading black hair that had popped against the multitude of colors she was wearing and the other girl had light brown hair with blonde streaks in it that had subtly drawn attention to her outfit that had been comprised of an orange shirt and a light blue skirt. “Annyeong. I'm Yoona and this is Yuri.”

The female with light brown hair just smiled while Yuri looked sad before there was a cold chill that had filled the air and everyone turned their attention to Jessica who had been standing next to a female with brown hair wearing a white and black dress and matching heels. “Now. You all should have introduced yourself to the new arrivals Sulli and Krystal. I'm advising you to sleep early because I'm taking half of you with me to the meeting with Yunho. The group will be comprised of Hyoyeon, Jessica, Taeyeon, Sunny and Yuri. The rest of you will continue with the upkeep of the house.” Her voice was firm yet gentle which caused Sulli to become slightly unnerved as The girls simply nod their heads and Krystal dragged Sulli off. “Come on. We're rooming together.” Sulli glanced back to see Victoria just warily glancing at her before giving her attention to Sunny. After nearly ending up in the wrong room, Krystal had finally found their room and opened it leading into a bright violet room and she wasted no time choosing her bed. “I call left side.” Sulli had shuffled over to the bed on the right that had been beautifully decorated with a light gray comforter. A pillow with her name on it, and a regular pillow.

I'm beat what about.....” She glanced to see that Krystal had passed out on her bed and figured she would do the same as she sat on it and laid to the side before dozing off.
