Snow White and Juliet 4

Shots!

Jessica has looked all over the place and still no Taeyeon in sight. She woke up and the first thing she did was to check up on the shorter girl but to her dismay, Taeyeon wasn’t on her bed. So she started looking for her around the house and even went down thinking she was just roaming around the abandoned warehouse.

Panic filled her when she realized that she really was not there. She immediately talked to the girls who’ve just woken up.

“Taeyeon’s missing,” she said, not hiding the panic in her voice.

“She went back to Seoul,” Sunny said calmly.

She knew something was up because it wasn’t in Sunny’s character to act calm. She’s always angry.

“What do you mean she went back to Seoul? What if her step mom—“

“She says she’s ready to face the evil witch.”

Jessica was pushed over the edge and so she grabbed Sunny by the collar of her shirt and bellowed, “Why did you let her do that?! Why did you let her leave by herself? If something bad happens to her, I swear to god, Sunny!”

It was the youngest, Seohyun, who tried to calm her down. “Jessica-unnie, we have to trust Taengoo-unnie. She says she has a plan.”

“What is that plan, Seohyun? To get herself killed?”

“You’re not giving Taeyeon the credit that she deserves,” Sooyoung retorted. “If she says she has a plan, then we should just trust her.”

“I’m not going to stay here. I’ll follow her.” She was supposed to go back to her room to pack her bags but she was pulled back by Tiffany who was also acting different than usual. She has never seen her sporting such a serious expression.

“You can’t do that. Taengoo told us that she’ll contact us once everything is settled. Whatever her plan is, we can’t let you ruin it and get the both of you in trouble.”

“We don’t even know what her plan is! What if she’s just acting on impulse and…and…”

Jessica broke down and Yoona, who’ve grown very fond of her, was the first one to approach her and console her.

“Let’s trust Taengoo-unnie on this one, Jessica-unnie.”

Hyo stood up and joined in reassuring the sobbing girl. “We might not know what she’s planning but with the way she talked last night, I think she’s very determined to take back what belongs to her in the first place.”

“I agree,” said Yuri, “If there’s anyone who should be worried, it’s her ruthless step mom.”

“She was pretty determined to go back to Seoul to face her step mom,” stated Sooyoung. It seemed like she was the only one who’s still acting like herself. She was still holding snacks and eating them even though the atmosphere has grown tensed.

What she said next made Jessica laugh a bit but it also worried her. “She didn’t even mind her hurting .”

---

Contrary on what she told her friends, their mansion wasn’t her first destination. She was far too intelligent to do such rash thing. She knew her step mother wouldn’t even have second thoughts about finishing her off if she sees her there.

She also had other stuff that she needed to do for her to execute her plan effectively. She went directly to the Park Estate with one thing in her mind.

“I need to speak to Park Jaebeom.”

---

It’s been three days and still no word from Taeyeon, everyone was getting worried about her but Jessica was the only one to voice it out. It was later that night when they all started doubting if Taeyeon’s plan could actually work.

Hyoyeon was browsing channels when a video of a girl being hugged, more like smothered, by a woman who was hysterically crying. It was Taeyeon and her step mom, Gyuri.

They watched the whole news about the Kim’s only heiress return after missing for three years. Everyone had their eyebrows creased when they heard what Gyuri said.

---

“This calls for a celebration. My step daughter has finally returned to us so it’s only right to throw a party for her.”

Taeyeon tried to put on a fake smile as her step mom side hugged her. She was rejoicing seeing as how her plan was working now. Gyuri was just too predictable.

---

“Will you please let me talk to Taengoo,” Jessica pleaded but Sooyoung shrugged.

“I don’t want to get punched by Sunny.”

Sunny walked as far away from them as possible and continued talking to Taeyeon on the phone with a hush voice.

Jessica slouched on the couch and waited for them to finish their conversation, hoping Sunny would give her time to talk to the girl as well but that was immediately crushed when she heard Sunny saying “bye.”

“Sunny,” she whined, “You could’ve let me talk to her for a while.”

Sunny deadpanned and called the other girls, asking them to listen to what she has to say. “Taengoo invited us to her party.”

Jessica didn’t let her finish and started packing her bags. She was the first one to get on the car and urged the others to hurry up as well.

“Someone’s a little too excited,” Hyoyeon commented as she sat behind the wheel.

“If this someone won’t stop acting like a child high on sugar, I will throw them out once the car starts moving.” Sunny glared at Jessica who almost instantly behaved.

The group stayed at a hotel and even though they had an ample amount of time to get ready, they still arrived at the party later than most of the people there because their van suddenly stopped running.

When they got to the hotel, the guards weren’t letting anyone in especially the media. Jessica was having a bad feeling about all of it. She had to get in. She would do anything to get in even using her family’s name which she swore she would never do.

“I’m Jessica Jung, the only daughter of Jung Woo Sung and I demand for you to let us into that hall.”

The head of the security knew of the Jungs and he knew he would get in trouble if he didn’t do what the sole heiress demanded. “Let them in and make sure to guard them,” he ordered to a guy named Junho.

“This way, Miss Jung.”

Jessica followed him into the hall and so did the other girls. She was getting highly suspicious and curiosity got the best of her.

“What’s happening?”

Junho had second thoughts on telling them about the situation inside but eventually gave in when he got pulled back by his shirt. All the girls were looking at him expectantly.

“Miss K-Kim Taeyeon...she got shot.”

The girl eyes widened but it was Jessica and Sunny who didn’t waste their time in running and going to where Taeyeon was.

Junho tried to catch them but he remembered that he still needed to guard the other girls.

Meanwhile, the two girls who broke out into a run arrived and the sight before them broke their heart. There she was sprawled on the floor. Lifeless.

“Taengoo,” Sunny croaked out.

Jessica knelt beside the lifeless body as tears continued staining her cheeks. She cradled Taeyeon’s head and continued crying.

The other girls finally arrived and they reacted the same way the two did except for the youngest who, despite wanting to break down and cry like her other unnies, managed to stay calm and rational.

“Why isn’t she sent to the hospital?”

Junho looked at her with sympathy and answered, “There was a doctor who checked her pulse as soon as she went down on the floor. Sending her to the hospital would’ve been useless. There was no pulse.”

“Why is everyone still here then? Where is the police force?”

“No one is allowed to get out of this hall. We’re all suspecting that whoever did this to her is still here. We’re not even supposed to let you guys in.”

Seohyun nodded and looked at all her unnies who was surrounding Taeyeon’s body. Her Sunny-unnie was angry and she was trying to wipe her tears away but it was to no avail.

She looked towards Gyuri, Taeyeon’s evil step mom, who she knew was only pretending to act sad. She wanted to go to her and punch her senselessly and tell everyone that this is her doing but she knows she can’t. She doesn’t have any proof.

She then turned her attention to Jessica who was embracing Taeyeon’s body, holding on for dear life.

“Taengoo...” Jessica pleaded, “Please wake up.”

“Taengoo, please.”

Jessica wasn’t sure what she was begging for. She knew it was futile. Taeyeon had no pulse. She checked her wrist. She tried listening for heart beat but there was nothing.

“You idiot. You shouldn’t have come back,” she mumbled. “I’m sorry...I wasn’t able to protect you.”

“Taengoo-ah,” she called out once again.

Gyuri discreetly scoffed. All this crying was ruining her make-up. She was cursing her make-up artist for not using a waterproof mascara.

A guy dressed as a waiter kept checking on his watch. He stared at the girl who was crying her heart out. He shook his head and smiled. He never thought he’d live to see this day.

“Come on, Jess. Say those words already. We’re running out of time,” he muttered under his breath. He looked around and saw the person he was looking for.

“Taengoo...I,” she sniffed and her breath was hitching but she still tried to talk. “I love you. Please come back.”

As everyone expected, there was no response. A man in uniform tried pulling Jessica away from Taeyeon’s body but he backed out soon as he saw fierce Sunny glaring at him. Another man came and ignored the glare. He pulled Jessica away but the latter resisted. She was going to punch whoever this man was until they heard someone grunt.

“Oh my god, my chest stings.”

“Taengoo!” Jessica freed herself from the man’s iron grip and tackled Taeyeon who could barely sit up. She hugged her tightly, tears still falling from her face.

“Jessica...” she then received a slap from the still crying girl. “Ouch! What the heck was that for?”

“I thought you were really gone! You didn’t even say goodbye to me when you left, you idiot!”

Taeyeon chuckled and patted her head. “I’m sorry.” The shorter girl hugged her this time and gave her a lingering kiss on the forehead.

“I thought I’ve lost you.”

“I’m still here.”

Taeyeon received another whack at the back of her head courtesy of Sunny. If she was perpetually angry before, now she looked like a rabid bunny who just lost her carrot.

“Sunny, that hurts,” she said calmly, rubbing the sore spot.

“You deserve that! What the was all of that for? You made us worry.”

Taeyeon looked at the other girls. Half of them were smiling in relief, the other half wasn’t too impressed with her faking her death.

“WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING? THIS IS NOT HOW IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE! YOU, YOU LITTLE BRAT, YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD BY NOW!” Gyuri bellowed.

All eyes were on her now. She was breathing harshly and the look in her eyes hinted that she’s finally gone insane. Gyuri looked around and grabbed a gun from one of her bodyguards. She removed the safety and pointed the gun towards her step daughter, fingers on the trigger.

But before she could pull it, she was karate chopped by none other than Taeyeon’s accomplice.

Jessica squinted her eyes and gasped. “Jaebeom? What the...? What are you doing here?”

He grinned and said, “Taeyeon, would you please do the honour?”

Jessica scowled and put her hands on her hips. “Start talking.”

Taeyeon shivered at the girl’s cold demeanour and she started telling them what happened.

She was standing inside the Park’s mansion and was waiting for the young Park to arrive. She was admiring the interior so she didn’t notice that Jaebeom has finally arrived.

“I don’t remember asking a girl to pick me up for a date but I’d gladly go with you.”

Tayeon wanted to kick him in the shin when he saw him winking. She cleared . “That’s not what I’m here for Park Jaebeom-ssi.”

“Jaebeom’s fine. What are you here for then? Would you at least tell me your name and your number?”

“I need your help. I’m Jessica’s friend.”

His ears perked up when he heard Jessica’s name being mentioned. “Do you know where Jessica is? Is she safe?”

“She’s in good hands. She’s told me stories about you. She said you were her go-to man when she needed help in things. Right now, I’m in dire need of your help.”

“Help with what?”

“Fooling my step mom.”

“What?”

“I’m Kim Taeyeon.” She couldn’t believe this guy was not familiar with her. Her face was basically on the TV and on every newspaper when she went missing.

“Kim Taeyeon?” Jaebeom’s eyes went wide. “Aren’t you supposed to be dead? A-are you a ghost?”

“I’m very much alive.”

Jaebeom sighed and grinned. “Okay. That’s good to hear. I don’t like ghosts. So what did you need help with again?”

“My stepmom needs to think that I’m dead and that she’s won. I have to make her admit that she’s out to kill me.”

She went on with telling everyone the details of how she managed to fool her step mom with the help of Jaebeom.

“Park Jaebeom knew...people and had contacts that tipped him when Gyuri was looking for someone to hire to kill me. He pretended to be a hitman and from then, we tried to figure out how to fake my death. Your other friend, Wooyoung suggested a serum that if injected to a human’s body could erase any sign of pulse but won’t be fatal.”

She glared at Jaebeom and continued, “So he shot me on the chest and that’s that. Now I’m conscious again and Gyuri’s not.”

“Why’d you have to pretend to be dead when you could’ve recorded the phone call that Gyuri made in hiring Jae as a hitman?”

Taeyeon blushed and looked down. “Playing dead was for a different reason. I...I wanted you to admit what you felt for me...in front of your parents.”

Jessica frowned. She looked around and true enough, her father and mother was there.

“Did you say it?”

“What?” Jessica was still confused.

“Did you tell me you love me?”

It was Jessica’s turn to blush furiously but before she could answer, Jaebeom beat her to it.

“She did. She so did. She was crying and all. I’ve never seen her like that.” Jaebeom guffawed.

“Jaebeom, shut the up!”

“I was just saying,” Jaebeom shrugged.

Jessica huffed and looked at Taeyeon. “Meanie.”

Taeyeon hugged her again and whispered, “Can you please say it again.”

“No.”

“Please.”

“Ugh! Fine. I love you.”

Taeyeo chuckled. “I love you, too.”

“Taengoo-unnie, Jessica-unnie, we’re all still here,” Seohyun informed them.

Yoona tugged on Seohyun’s sleeve. “Aww, Seohyunnie, you should’ve left them alone and maybe we would’ve seen them kiss.”

Their ears were now a dark shade of red.

“Let’s leave these two idiots alone.” The others agreed at Sunny’s statement but Sooyoung thought it’d be a waste if they don’t get to eat so they went to the buffet table and eat.

---

A couple of months have passed and Gyuri was finally locked up in jail with her ever loyal assistant, Hara.

The seven jewellers are a few months away from having their new office in Seoul.

Jessica’s father finally accepted her preference and has given up in forcing her into an arrange marriage. Taeyeon has also asked Jung Woo Sung for his daughter’s hand in marriage and surprisingly, he gave her his permission.

Jessica, on the other hand, had to ask the seven jewellers’ permission to marry Taeyeon. She didn’t have a hard time getting a yes from them but of course, Sunny wouldn’t let her have it easy. Sunny threatened her but she didn’t falter.

All it took was a year and the wedding day finally came. Tiffany and Sooyoung personally planned the whole thing. Tiffany mostly tried to keep Sooyoung from going overboard with the food. If the bubbly girl wasn’t there to keep her in check, she would’ve picked gowns that were made out of chocolate.

Taeyeon let Jessica decide where it would be held and she picked the elegant Kim’s garden as the venue. She’s always liked the thought of being surrounded with flowers on her wedding day and Taeyeon gave her just that.

It was a fairly simple event and only close friends were invited. There was Jaebeom and Wooyoung, Jessica’s closest friends and the seven girls.

During the reception, after taking photos with their relatives and friends, the two brides took a break and decided to hang out with their respective friends.

Jessica was in the mini bar that was conveniently set up by none other than Tiffany, the bubbly girl whom you’ll never think has a high tolerance in alcohol. She was talking with Jaebeom and Wooyoung.

“I can’t believe you got hitched before we did, Jess.”

Jaebeom nodded at Wooyoung’s statement and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “Maybe I should run away, too just so I could meet the girl I would marry someday.”

“You wish.”

“Taeyeon’s tall friend is pretty fine.”

“Forget about it, Woo. You see that short girl right there,” she pointed at Sunny, “she’s going to kill you if you ever try hitting on Soo.”

It was as if the short grumpy girl felt someone was talking about her. She saw Wooyung staring at him and glared. The poor guy shivered in fear and excused himself, getting out of there before Sunny could skin him alive.

“You just scared the guy, Sunny-unnie,” said Yoona.

“That’s Sunny’s specialty.” Everyone laughed at what Taeyeon said.

“You shouldn’t tease Sunny like that. When we thought you died, beside Jessica, Sunny was crying the most.”

Sunny sent a death glare towards Hyoyeon’s direction but the latter shrugged it off. It wasn’t going to work on her.

“I thought we weren’t ever going to bring that up,” Sunny stated in a hushed voice. She sounded like she was ready to murder someone.

Taeyeon did a fist pump and got up her chair to hug Sunny. “I knew it! You were a softie!”

Before the slightly taller girl was able to hug the shorter girl, her face was shoved away by a small pallm. “Don’t even think about hugging me.”

Taeyeon pouted and seconds later, Jessica appeared by her side. She hugged the girl protectively and scowled at Sunny.

“Are you okay?”

“I just shoved her stupid face away from me. I didn’t punch her.”

Jessica childishly stuck her tongue out and kissed her wife’s forehead. Hyoyeon made a gagging sound and stood up. The other girls followed and the couple was left standing there. Just then, the music started and the two slowly danced to it.

Before they know it, they were in the middle of the dance floor, not caring about the world nor their guests who were staring at them.

“I’m really glad I met you,” whispered Jessica.

“Me, too. I love you.”

“I love you, too.”

End.
