Until the End
Castle of Glass“How are you feeling?” She hadn’t been able to wipe that huge smile on her face since her and her brother had been reunited once again. She ran her fingers through her brother, Xiumin’s hair.
He smiled at her as he pulled her into a tight embrace, “It was scary.” He confessed. “I never knew what it felt like to be separated from you. I was so scared that you would…that you were in danger, and that you wouldn’t make it-”
“Yah,” she hugged him tighter and they enjoyed their moment together in the rooftop of their home. “Nothing will ever separate us again.” She said with a bright smile, and he slowly matched her smile.
A few yards away, Kangin and Shindong had turned in a young man who assaulted an older lady to the police station. “Psycho,” Kangin scoffed as he they both walked out of the station and towards the police car. “You want to drive this time?”
Shindong smiled a nodded. Once they were in the car, he couldn’t help but feel disconnected. “I miss Siwon.” He said sadly. “I can’t help but think of all the things we have accomplished together. He was such a good man.”
Kangin felt upset as well, “I think about him constantly, but he would want us to continue with the job. We need to do this…for him.”
Shindong smiled and nodded, “For him.”
Kangin’s phone rang and he answered shortly. It was Leeteuk and he requested that they met up because they had unfinished things left to do.
In the city of Seoul, was the home of Lee Jaesun’s mansion, and he sat in the living room while he was lost in his thoughts about the future. “Hyuna’s soul will return.” He said softly. “She had so much energy…she was so powerful. Someone like her doesn’t die so easily.”
“We’ll be ready for her…” Jiyeon sat beside him, took his hand and squeezed it gently.
“I don’t say it, ever, but I really appreciate your company Jiyeon. Thank you for everything that you have done for me.” He cracked a small smile and squeezed her hand gently. “You truly are someone very dear to me.”
Jiyeon smiled lighly, nodded and whispered. “I’ll always be here-” she paused and turned to look at the front door. “They’re back again.” JaeSun knew who she was talking about. He stood up, headed towards the door and opened right as Leeteuk was about to knock- which startled him, but he tried to keep his calm.
“Can I help you?” he stared at him and then at Shindong and Kangin who were a few feet behind.
“Could we ask you a couple of questions regarding the pills that you created? We analyzed them and we’re unsure if they’re a threat or not.”
“I plan on destroying all of the pills I have created, so if you could give them back to me then you have nothing to worry about.” He spoke calmly. Leeteuk was uneasy, he felt really hot in his uniform, and he would never accept it but he was a little afraid of Lee Jaesun. Well who wasn’t? Everyone thought of him as some sort of God.
“We would like to ask you a couple of questions.” Kangin approached and Shindong followed.
He almost smiled, but he only moved so that they could pass through the door. “Come on in then.” They walked slowly into his mansion, and began to interrogate him once they were settled on the couch.
In another world, a world that was much darker than the human world, lay an almost lifeless body by the black lake. His hand was hovering over the water and his eyes stared at the dark sky and his blood was nearly drained completely. Siwon removed himself from on top of him and stared at the boy for a moment before he whispered an apology and killed him immediately so he wouldn’t feel anymore pain. He sat there, pondering about his life, and he couldn’t help but cry. He wailed lightly and embraced himself.
Donghae and Hyukjae had been nearby when they heard the latter crying. Donghae made his way towards him and he couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. “Siwon?” He whispered, he was careful, and Hyukjae made sure to remain close to him. “A-Are you okay?” he knew it was a stupid question so he decided to ask it again differently. “Will you be okay?” he was close to him but not too close in case he loses it.
Siwon looked up at him and slowly stood up. “No.” he said honestly. “I want to die.” He said it seriously, his visage appearing completely determined. “I went from protecting the innocent, saving them from monsters like me…and now I am one.” His voice nearly broke. “How do I die?” he asked with a desperate look in his eyes.
“Fire.” Hyukjae sympathized with him. “It’ll be painful though.”
“Hyukjae!” Donghae’s eyes widened and he shook his head quickly. “No, Siwon! Don’t do it, please. There must be another way.”
“What other way?!” Siwon cried and then his eyes slowly widened. “Wait…Donghae!” He almost beamed, “Y-You’re powerful right? Can’t you do something to…reverse this?” he wasn’t sure if he made sense, but he was desperate to find some sort of way to get back to his old life. “You have power beyond belief, right?” he trembled.
Donghae stood frozen, lost in his thoughts. “I-I’ve never tried…” he looked at Hyukjae with an unsure look in his eyes. “What if I hurt him?” he whispers.
“He’s already hurting Donghae,” Hyukjae whispered. “He has nothing to lose.” Even though Siwon stood near them, and could hear them, they still whispered back and forth to each other. “I say you go for it.”
“But how?” Hae almost whined. Of course he wanted to help but he was afraid to do something wrong.
“I’m right here you know.” Siwon almost laughed, he was so excited by the idea of his old self that he couldn’t hold it in. “Please. I’m begging you. Just try.” He nodded and took a couple of steps back while Donghae took a deep breath. They faced each other and Donghae concentrated on Siwon’s dead heart.
“Bring it back to life.” Hyukjae whispered from behind him. He was close to him so Donghae wouldn’t feel alone.
Donghae nodded and stared into the chest of Siwon, almost feeling the heart that no longer beats. “You just fed on someone, Siwon…this is going to make you sick.” He whispered softly and Siwon only grew more excited. Hae tilted his head a bit and whispered, “Hyukkie electrocute his heart.” He whispered as he conjured a wave of water to circle around the heart. Siwon felt a discomfort but he was strong at the moment, so it wasn’t too bad- either way he wouldn’t care if it killed him as long as he died a h
