Let it begin

I was dropped off at home with Tiffany and Minho, I would have thought that Tiffany would want to go home, after this long, long day.

“You can go home now.” Minho gave her a weird look.

Tiffany who was too interested in her phone looked up wide eyed at Minho

“And leave my friend with a window that leads to…that.” She made a gesture towards Minho

“Oh, I’m sure she’ll manage.” He winked and his heels

“What did he mean by that?” Tiffany turned to look at me with those same big eyes

“What did YOU mean by that?” I laughed as we continued towards my house

“I was only saying…” she sighed “forget it”

“So are you staying over?”

“YES! My dad had this whole business dinner thing, so my house is flooding with men in suits.”

I smiled

“Well I’ll go get the air mattress. We can hang out in my room.” I went over to the closer in the hall way, which made too much noise

“Jiwon is that you” I heard my mom call out

“DAE” I peeked into my parents room

“Where have you been?” My mother was making her way over to the door

“Oh, I went with Tiffany, the carnival is in town” I smiled

“Tiffany?” she smiled and went around me “oh, hey sweetie, are you staying over tonight?” My mom has always loved Tiffany like her second daughter, mostly because she probably saw her more than her own daughter.

“If that’s okay with you.” Tiffany said politely.

“Of course it’s okay” my mom dismissed her comment “Make sure to get the blankets in the attic”

“Yes mom” I moved her back into her room “go back to sleep”

“Good Night Mr. and Mrs. Yang” Tiffany called out before I closed the door

“Okay, we need to have a truth talk!” as soon as the door closed she pulled me up the stairs and closed the door to my room.

“Um…truth talk? What truth do you want? You already know my mom loves you more.” I shook my head

“Not that.” She laughed

“Then what?” I was getting impatient

“Yesterday you were head over heals for Key, and today you’re going GA-GA for Minho!”

“I am NOT going GA-GA for Minho!” this was exactly the kind of misunderstanding I wanted to avoid “I’m actually trying to help him with something.” I whispered

“With what?”

“I cant tell you, its his business not mine”

“Oh come on. This is the truth talk! You have to tell the truth!” Tiffany whined

I quickly went through the pro’s and the cons of tell her.

Pro: Tiffany was excellent at spying, could come in handy

Con: Talks way too much, not good

Pro: read’s a lot of Sherlock book’s, that could be interesting

Con: If I told her Minho might get mad at me for interfering with his business…

why do I care… I mean it’s not like we’re best friends… but we are friends.

I took a deep breath

“Fine…”

Tiffany leaned in closer

“The truth is, I think there might be something between Key and Krystal” I spat it out. There it was, the truth lingering in a quiet room.

Tiffany blinked, her eyes widened and then she gasped

Tiffany POV

“The truth is, I think there might be something between Key and Krystal” it took a minute for that to sink in. I remembered seeing them at my party together…

I also remembered they were kissing! After Key came back…

I gasped

“What?” Jiwon jumped “Do you know something I don’t?”

I shook my head furiously

“Yes you do! You have that look!” she insisted

“What look?” I asked offended

“That Don’t-look-at-me-I-don’t-know-anything look.”  

I sighed

“Come on this is the truth talk!” She beat me at my own game.

“Its just at the party. I sort of saw them…”

“Kissing?” she asked softly

She was obviously hurt, but this was the truth talk

“Making out…”I avoided looking at her

She didn’t say anything and just nodded

“Then, in that case.” She sat on the edge of her bed and dusted off her pants and smirked

“Operation unmask is a go.”

“Operation unmask?” the name sounded funny

“We should catch them in the act, like on a date or while they’re making out… this way we’ll have proff-“

“And what good would that do?” I asked as I sat next to her

“I don’t want him to get hurt.”

“You cant avoid it.” I said “He must sense something is wrong.“

“maybe we can make then stop. We can have them quit it before it’s too late to go back. I mean Key and Minho are friends.” She shook her head

“I don’t know, girl… this seems like too much.”

“Please. I don’t want him to get hurt.”

“So you’re willing to become their accomplice?” I said harshly “ Because that’s what your doing if you help them cover it up.”

She was quiet for a long time… too long.

Jiwon POV

Tiffany was right.

I cant hide it from Minho… if its true I would have to be honest with him.

But Tiffany didn’t see the hurt look in his eyes. The way he would steel glances at them across the street, or sigh occasionally. Minho cared for Krystal, even though he treated her coldly.

“What if it was only a one time thing?” I said suddenly

Tiffany let out a exasperated breath

“So what? Cheating is cheating.”

She was right AGAIN! Either way it is what it is. How do I help Minho, and at the same time keep him from getting hurt?

“But…I guess since I’m your friend…” she looked over at me smiling “I’ll help you do whatever it is you wanted to do.”

I jumped up

“Thank you sooooo much!” I hugged her

“So first things first.” I lifted my finger in the air

“Lay it on me” Tiffany laughed

“We need to observe Minho and Krystal” I started pacing “ I need to see how deep are Minho’s feeling for her. “After that I will act accordingly.” 

“That’s quite a strategy.” Tiffany nodded “But can YOU handle whatever his feeling are?” she turned the tables.
