After about Three weeks of not speaking to anyone I thought It would be okay to finally tell Tiffany what had happened.

She sat there in silence. Thinking things over, analyzing the situation.

“Is this why I couldn’t get a hold of you the past month?” She hugged my pillow

I nodded

“I just wanted to make sure this wasn’t all a bad dream.” I said softly “I kept waiting for someone to say ‘just kidding honey’ or ‘you don’t have to do this’-“

“You don’t have to do it” Tiffany shouted

“I do. My parents are counting on this. I’m not sure exactly what happened but I know that we need the money. If Key’s Dad pulls out of this new contract my father would pay the consequences”

Tiffany looked down at the pillow as she thought of a way to avoid me from getting married.

“What if you run away. I mean you turn 18 in two months.”

“Run away to where?” I walked over to my closet

“Anywhere.” Tiffany followed

“I wish I could.”  Said as my voice got shaky “But if I run away…” I turned to look out the window past the trees and into Minho’s room

“Oh Honey.” Tiffany embraced me in a hug “Trust me. I will figure something out. There has to be a way out of this dilemma.”

I held onto Tiffany, I was afraid if I let go then I would fall apart. There was a very small string that was holding me together, and that was about to break.

“Leave this to me.” Tiffany patted my head and left.

I sighed

I doubt there’s much she can do. Unless she could find someone who would replace Key’s father in the contract, why would he want me to get married to Key anyway.

Just then my phone rang

INCOMMING CALL FROM KEY

I could ignore the call like I have been doing all week but then again, maybe Key was going threw the same thing

I took a deep breath and answered

“Hello?”

“Did you know that Minho and Krystal are dating again!” Key yelled threw the phone

“No I didn’t. But thanks for the info.”

“I thought that maybe Minho would let her down easily but he didn’t say squat.”

“Well what is he supposed to say. And is this why you’ve been calling me?” I was kind of pissed off

“Not really, I just wanted to see if you were doing okay? You haven’t been to school-“

“Yeah, um I’m getting my work done here, I’ll be going back Next week.”

“Are you ready to face every thing. Or every one?”

There was a long pause

Was I ready to face every one? I’m pretty sure that everyone at school has heard about the engagement. Everyone will be asking questions.

I sighed

“I’m not ready. At all.”

“I figured.” Key whispered “Don’t worry I’ll be there by your side.”

Just then i nearly had a heart attack when I heard a knock at my window

“Thanks, Key, Hey let me call you back later?”

“Sure thing.”

I hung up quickly and rushed to  the window to find Minho standing outside holding onto the tree branch

I opened the window

“What are you doing out here!” I moved back so that Minho could jump in

“I need to talk to you.” He straightened out

“About what? Krystal?” I crossed my arms

“Yes. I mean, sort of. Have you been avoiding me because you saw her Kiss me at the hospital?”

My eyes grew wide

The truth is I was avoiding him, but I couldn’t tell him straight up like that. I had no right to avoid anyone, I had no right to be mad about the kiss

“Of Corse not.”

“Jiwon, you’re a bad liar.” Minho pulled me back towards him

“Fine.  I’ve been avoiding you. But does it really matter?”

“What do you mean does it matter? Jiwon, you’re my friend, if you ignore me…”

“your friend? That’s the thing Minho, I don’t think I can be your friend. Not anymore. Not if im going to marry Key and most certainly not if your back with Krystal!” I felt my eyes swelling up with tears

“Im not back with Krystal. Things are complicated, but I’m not back with her.” Minho reached out to grab my hand “And as for Key. Don’t marry him.”

“I have to. Its not negotiable.” I tried to pull my hand back but Mingo grabbed it tighter

“Lets see what we can do about that.” He did that half smile that always manages to melt my heart

“What?”

“I think my dad could help us out. I could get you out of this whole wedding thing.” Minho smiled

“What? No Minho I don’t need your help. I can get out of this on my own.”

“Would you stop acting tough and let me help you.”

I stood there quietly

“Key doesn’t want this marriage either. Why don’t we all put our brains together and think of a way to fix this.”

“Fine. Thank you…” I whispered

“What was that?” Minho cupped his hand around his ear “I didn’t hear you”

“I said THANK YOU”

He grinned

“Don’t thank me just yet.” He backed away towards the window “but I do plan on collecting” he said just as he leaped onto the tree

“Hey Minho!” I called out as he landed on his roof

“Yeah?” he looked back

“You’re a good friend” I leaned out my window to make sure he heard me

I swear I saw him smirk

“I know.” He said swiftly as he jumped back into his room

Maybe we could fix things
