Dear Yifan[CONTENTID2]
#6 - SEPTEMBER 30, 2017
DEAR YIFAN, [/CONTENTID2]
[CONTENTID1] You know I don't like Autumn that much, right? But the falling leaves reminded me of something else that falls often. It is something that falls slowly like the dried out leaves but at the same time, when it does land, the result is fatal and rough.
Just the thought of falling and landing made me think back of the four of us. We would gather in the backyard of whoever had the most leaves that afternoon. We would pile as many dead leaves as we could and pretend that half of us were superheroes and the other half would be the enemies. There would be an epic battle to have full control of the leaves. It was such a dumb, childish game. We loved every minute of it. Your favourite character to be was this comic book hero from China that you always talked about. You described it as some kind of lizard dragon thing that could fly.
You might remember the four of us running around with our costumes and doing stupid things like climbing the tree and falling down then landing in a pile of prickly leaves.
There was one time when your flying abilities failed and caused you to fall on your head. If you don't remember, that's okay. I guess your amnesia really hit you hard and it just stuck around. I'm just glad that you didn't forget about me when you woke up. Out of all the memories you and I are able to hold on to, I hope our friendship is one of the stronger ones.
