Yixing remembers a day too late.

And when he does remember, he is so horrified that for a moment, he freezes and considers digging himself a hole and never coming out again.

Then, Yixing’s on his feet and out of the door. It’s a rainy Wednesday night, and he’s speeding down the street, hoping against hope that he doesn’t get pulled over. Not today, just not today. He’s got a crazy kind of feeling that he can't explain, and he tells himself to keep on driving.

She answers the door, wrapped in a gray cardigan, and one look tells Yixing that he has ed up big time.

“I’m sorry,” he blurts.

She is silent, just frowning.

“Can I get a second chance?” Yixing begs. “Just give me a minute to explain.”

“I don’t want to hear your excuses,” she mutters, starting to turn away.

“Wait!” Yixing calls. “Just hear me out before I go because there are some things that I want you to know. I’m not letting you get away without a fight. Just let me in tonight, please.”

She seems about to refuse, but a crack of thunder and the accompanying flash of lightning makes her step aside to let him in.
