Dear TV

It is nights like these that exhaust Jongdae most. All he has ever wanted to do is make music, sing indie and soul ballads. Instead, he’s in the studio past midnight, recording a cheesy, over-autotuned pop song that he absolutely detests. 

His company decides that pop music is Jongdae’s route to fame, and they’re right, because Jongdae tops the charts with his first single (which he also hates with a passion). He’s being mainstreamed, and it drives him crazy.

“Yah, Jongdae, pay attention,” the producer barks, thoroughly annoyed. “You can do better than this.”

“Don’t act like you know because you recognize me,” Jongdae snaps back, shoving the door to the studio open with both hands. “You sell my record, not me.”

He knows that tomorrow, he would have to get down on his knees to apologize for speaking so rudely to his elders, but for tonight, just tonight, he finds that he really, really, doesn’t care. 

[A/N]: My goal is to one day actually write a 100 word drabble. I tried, but this is still 155. Impossible. Anyway, I wonder if kpop artists ever hate the songs they're made to sing/promote. I feel like the companies in kpop make the tracklist decisions complete
