The Two Moons Bar on 34th and Grand Street experiences large crowds on Friday nights, and tonight was no exception. As the bartender, Kris sees hundreds of faces a night, and is surprised when that of one young woman, in her early twenties, stands out from the rest.

“Hey, didn’t I see you here the other night?” he asks, sliding another shot of vodka across the table. “With that one guy, Kai, was it?”

The girl cringes, and reaches for the glass without a word.

“I knew he was trouble when he walked in,” she mutters, finally looking up, surprising Kris with dark, stunning eyes, lined with smudged kohl. “I pretended like I didn’t know, so I guess the blame is on me.”
