~*~ Game 2 ~*~

His eyes widened. He quickly exited the office, and ran to the front of the school, hoping to catch her.

Luckily, Wooyoung spotted her and immediately stopped running in front of her. Without hesitation to catch his breath, he began to say, “You… You…”

She looked at him with her regular straight face. “Ne?”

“You want to attend sueobsneun school?! So, you want to run away after you won? By the way, only those who failed in the exam will go to sueobsneun school.”
The literal translation is unknown school... Mianhe again for the lack of creativity ;~;

“Bwo? But over a half of our class will get into sueobsneun school.”

“Jinjja?” He raised his eyebrows, astounded from what he just heard.

Same as always. Thinking about his own position only. “Are you going to the selective school established for rich kids, Wooyoung-ssi?”

“Ne…” Clearing his throat, he tried to regain his posture. “I am an elite after all. Birds of a feather flock together.”

“Aigoo… I’ll feel lonely.” She looked away. What should I cook for today’s supper? “Jalgayo.” Curry sounds good.
She didn't put that much thought into it when she said that... Aigoo, our emotionless Ji-eunie

She walked away, leaving him with a thumping heart and warm cheeks.

So… I got into sueobsneun school.

In her middle school uniform, Ji-eun looked at Wooyoung. “Why are you here?”

His cheeks turned bright pink, as he avoided eye contact. “I just want to live like common people and get to know the society, not because you’re here!”

“Wooyoung-sunbae!” Wooyoung walked over to the class entrance, and spotted a shy girl. “Uh… I made this cake for you. Would you accept it? Jebal?” She shut her eyes tightly, beginning to get frantic. “Omo, you must eat premium pastries only. I’m not sure if it would be to your taste.”

“It surely does.” He smiled charmingly at her. “Comparing with something made by unknown guys, what you made especially for me is definitely more tasty, so I’ll take it. Gomawo~”

The girl began to shiver in delight, as her friends began to fan-girl. “YAAAAAA! SO COOL!”

“He is so different! He has such a charming personality!” The fan-girls began to chatter to one another.

“Yeah, just like a prince!”

“Do you remember a famous pianist coming to our culture festival last year?”

“That guy the principal made a big deal of?”

“I heard that he knew Wooyoung-sunbae’s appa well. That’s why he came to our school.”

“Jinjja?!”

“Rich, handsome, smart. He almost owns everthing!”

“AH-CHOO!!!” Back in the classroom, Wooyoung sighed, “Ah~ Someone is talking about me again.”

“Prince, can I kick you?” one of the guys in class asked angrily. “You should not come to public school.”

“Girls are cheated by his appearance!” another one cried.

“Of course, I don’t need to be gentle to boys, maja?” Wooyoung scoffed.

Sadly admitting the truth, the guy continued to cry. “That’s right!”

In middle school, I was still envied and admired by people around, but…

Wooyoung’s eyebrows twitched, as he looked at the class rank posted in the main office. Lee Ji-eun’s name rested beside the number one with his name right underneath it.

Again… Second place again!

Since Ji-eun and I were in different classes, I had nearly no contact with her, but I’d never forgotten her very existence. In those three years, she always kept the ranking of first in all tests, and even broke the sprint record in our town, but she had ignored the enthusiastic invitation from the athletic club, insisting on going home after school. Her indifferent attitude earned her the name of “Iron Daughter.”

Damn! Don’t get carried away. Wooyoung gritted his teeth.

“Wooyoung-ah,” a girl called, and a group of them immediately surrounded him. “So cool~ Second place again!”

“You are so smart!” one squealed.

Another one jumped up and down. “Can you teach me next time, please?”

I can’t believe she said second place again. Forcing a smile out, Wooyoung tried to suppress his anger. “Well, I think I should try harder.”

One of the girls smiled at him. “You’re too modest.”

“Yeah,” her friend agreed. “You’re handsome and rich. That’s good enough.”

Widening his eyes, he unknowingly gave the group of girls the puppy-dog look. “Jinjja?”

“Jinjja!!!”

Absolutely true. I’m supposed to be the winner in whichever way. Why do I have to care about that girl? Gloomy, friendless, unimpressive, braid her hair as before. Take a look at the “gorgeous” me!

As he walked back to class with the group of girls, he crossed paths with Ji-eun. Giving her a charming smile, he haughtily greeted, “Annyeong~ Ji-eun.”

“…” After a moment of silence, she finally replied, Omo, Wooyoung-ssi. Long time no see.” And with that, she just walked away, not even giving him a second glance.

His heart dropped. As the girls dragged him away, he looked back at Ji-eun. … She forgot me? She forgot my face? Is that so?

“Ooh~ The girls from the class next door are having gym class.” One of the boys from Wooyoung’s class watched the girls outside through the window.

His friend approached the window as well. “Daebak~”

“She is definitely the cutest.” He pointed to one of the girls, as he sighed. “Like an angel.”

“But she gave her chocolate to Wooyoung last year.”

All the boys immediately looked at Wooyoung. In reply, Wooyoung gave them an irritated and confused face.

“Why always you?! God is too unfair!” the boy cried.

His friend crossed his arms. “By the way, why don’t you have a girlfriend? You’re so popular.”

“Yeah, get a girlfriend!”

Wooyoung widened his eyes. “… I like girls, and I’m happy to be popular among girls, but…”

He recalled the memories of the group of girls from earlier: “You are handsome and rich. That’s good enough.” But a memory of Ji-eun from elementary school popped in: “It doesn’t mean you’re excellent too.”

“Wealthy or good-looking; all are given by my parents,” Wooyoung continued with a serious tone in his voice. “They’re not earned by myself.”

“You’re incredibly modest,” the boy said, astounded. “Which type of girl do you like, Wooyoung?”

Type… Wooyoung looked outside the window to see a twin-braided girl stretching outside. Keeping his eye on her, he rested his chin on the palm of his hand. “One who is not smarter than me, who is not better than me in sports, who is not arrogant, who will not forget my face, and who doesn’t braid her hair into two groups.”

“Detailed!”

“Yeah,” his friend agreed. “But I sort of understand the feeling of having a girlfriend who’s far better than yourself.”

“Ah~ Girls like Ji-eun-ssi?”

“Indeed, if it’s Ji-eun-ssi… er…” The guy shivered in disgust.

Crossing his arms, Wooyoung scoffed, “Maja.”

“She’s always displeasing, wears two outdated braids, and has no friends at all.”

Exactly. Wooyoung nodded his head in agreement.

“She insists on going home every time we invite her to hang out after school.”

That’s because she has to make supper.

“She always eats her lunch alone and never goes to the cafeteria.”

Feeling uneasy, Wooyoung looked back at Ji-eun. Probably she has no money.

“Feels like she’s judging us with disdain?”

“True,” the friend agreed. “She must think of herself to be special, that “I’m different from you guys” or something.”

Wooyoung’s blood began to boil.

“Maja, Wooyoung?” The two guys turned to face Wooyoung with a smile of approval with what they just said.

Instead, Wooyoung greeted them with a glare. “Bwo? How can it be like that?”

The two guys looked confused and afraid. … He was smiling just now, wasn’t he?

After school, everyone left the class and Wooyoung stomped down the hallways. Damn it! Why did I defend Ji-eun? He gritted his teeth in frustration. But I felt a surge of anger when they were speaking ill of her. She should be my nemesis. Sighing, he opened a door. Okay, study in the library for a while and then go home. His eyes widened once he spotted a lonely, sleeping Ji-eun. He hesitantly approached her. She really is sleeping!

Ji-eun slept peacefully on her homework, as Wooyoung watched her. He took the seat across from the sleeping Ji-eun, and continued to observe her. Sleeping defenselessly… Tch, this isn’t home. She’s annoying, because she never cares about me. People I’ve met so far, good or bad, all felt something towards me. She does nothing but looks ahead. He slowly leaned closer to her. Look at me… Then, I will let you know. I will win you over. Grabbing one of her braids, he inhaled her scent. I want you to see me in your eyes. Placing his hand on the defenseless Ji-eun’s cheek, he leaned even more closely towards her.

“Special sale!!!” Ji-eun suddenly stood up, hitting Wooyoung’s chin with her head.

“Whoa!!!” As he shivered from the pain, Ji-eun ran out the library, unknowing of his existence.

Feeling an angry aura, the group of kids hanging out outside created a clear aisle for Wooyoung. He stomped away with a bandage on his chin. That girl! I must win her then make her cry! Damn it, how do I let her admit defeat willingly?

Two guys walked pass Wooyoung. The guy nudged his friend. “Yeah, and then…”

His friend replied, “She said as a compensation, I should bring her to the amusement park.”

“Jinjja? You’re too obedient.”

“Ani, well, the result is… The one who falls in love first is the loser.”

Wooyoung’s eyes shot open. … Loser? That’s to say…

Wooyoung’s Master (?) Plan: Make Ji-eun fancy him -> He refuses her without mercy -> Crying Ji-eun = Wooyoung’s huge victory :D

Maja! Everyone around him looked at him in concern, as he cringed in delight, chuckling in a scary way. “He he he.” You’ll have a big crush on me, Ji-eun!

A sweat drop appeared on Ji-eun’s forehead, as she was in the freezer aisle of a grocery store. Why is there a chill in the air?

How was it? My lack of creativity for naming things is still on-going as you can see ahaha I wonder how Wooyoung's master plan is going to work out! Do you think it would go as Wooyoung planned? Also, do you want to know what I've been up to? Follow me on kuukuuthepig.tumblr.com!

Chapter 15: Ooh this story seems really interesting. I've only recently gotten to know about the Milky Couple, and I am absolutely in love with this pair. You write really well, and this story vaguely reminds me of Special A (it's a manga/anime). If you choose to continue this story, I'd eagerly read it through.
Keep up the great work! :)
