The feedback from the audience was off the charts. Of course, we wouldn’t know the actual ratings from the network until the next morning, but I could tell that that the first two episodes had lived up to its hype. 

I couldn’t help but let out a breath of relief. Although I had felt like everyone on set had good chemistry, I was nervous about how it would look post production, all edited together. I was amazed to see my characters and plots come to life, and it just made me want to finish Between the Lines even faster.

The director asked for most of the cast and important personnel, me included, to stay behind after the screening. I sent Andi home first, telling her to get a ride back to my place with Terry. For a moment, I thought that Lu Han had been serious and the director really wanted to take us out to eat so late. 

To my relief, he merely thanked us for our hard work. “If the ratings are high tomorrow, I’ll bring coffee for everyone at our meeting,” he promised. “Get a good night’s sleep tonight!”

As some of the actors mingled to chat, I looked around for Lu Han. I was ready to go home, but he had wanted to talk to me. I couldn’t find his blond hair in the crowd, so I sent him a text. 

“Meet me in box room two. Entrance is at the top of the balcony stairs,” I read the quick reply under my breath as I headed out into the lobby. There were rather grand looking staircases from the side of the lobby that led to additional balcony seating and apparently a few private box rooms for the theater. 

I found box two with ease, pushing through the heavy doors. The room had enough seats for about a dozen people, and I found Lu Han sitting in one of them, facing the stage. 

“Oh, you came,” Lu Han said, waving me to sit next to him.   

I couldn’t help but wonder what the hell we were doing up here. While we were here, should I use this chance away from the crowd to confess?  

I sat down next to Lu Han and looked out at the stage as well. I could see Director Cai talking to Li Zhixian near the edge of the stage. I couldn’t help but feel a little proud for him. This was Li Zhixian’s first time in the limelight. Yes, Fiction and Fact was Lu Han’s first lead role acting gig, but he was not new to fame by any means. Li Zhixian was a complete newbie, and I had a feeling that this show was going to skyrocket him to fame. 

Wei Chen was talking to Nana not too far away. He had played Linn’s brother on the show, but I knew that he disliked Nana as much as I did. She didn’t give him nearly as much attitude, mostly because he had been in the industry longer and was her senior. He told me in secret, however, that Nana was the fakest person he has ever met and that she gave him the creeps. 

“Wow, you can really see everything from up here,” I said, amazed.  
 
“I imagine these seats cost a fortune when the theater puts on shows,” Lu Han agreed. He was tapping his fingers against the glass, a sign of nerves. “You’re probably wondering why I asked you to meet me up here,” he said finally, turning to look at me. 

Lu Han must have rubbed his eyes during the show because his eye makeup was a little smudged. It made him look even more y, more alluring. 

I gulped, feeling a little bit of my resolve dissipating. I focused my gaze on a spot just over his ear, trying to gather my thoughts again. I knew that no matter how Lu Han felt about me, it would be alright in the end. Lu Han was a good guy; he would let me down easy and we would probably still be close friends. Still, knowing that things would turn out okay did not make me any less nervous.
