TRACK 2 - ILLA ILLA

[November 28, Thursday]

“I’ll be going now.” Kyungsoo bid farewell to Kai who was leaning at the door.

Kai waved, “Take care!”

Kyungsoo smiled and waved back. It hasn’t been long that Kai decided to live with Kyungsoo for it was part of if duty as his guide. This was first time after 5 years that someone had bid him well to go to work. Warmth spreading across his heart as the sun basks on his face.

“This will be a good day. I can feel it.”

“Good morning Kyungsoo,” Baekhyun was early at the ICU. He was drinking coffee at their desk. “Mr. Bed #1 was brought here during the night shift the other day.”

Kyungsoo walks to where Baekhyun was and sat down to check the patient’s chart.

“So that’s him,” Kyungsoo pointed on the name on the chart then to the patient. “It says here a few ribs were broken, luckily the lungs weren’t affected. Normal Pulse rate and Respiratory rate. CT Scan is okay but remains unconscious for a month now.”

“This guy is healthy. I mean yeah he’s unconscious but he’s one lucky dude to survive a bus-car crash−“ Baekhyun stopped and look at his friend’s face, thinking that he would cause him pain or something.

“It’s okay Baek. I got over it already.” Kyungsoo replied with a tight smile. Knowing Kyungsoo, he would just keep everything to himself. Baekhyun bit his lips and looks at his feet. Me and my mouth, he thought.

Kyungsoo stood up to see the patient. He stopped as soon as he saw a pretty clear view of the patient’s face. Bandages on the head, few scratches on the cheeks and arms and a cut on his lips. But he can’t be mistaken who this was.

This got Kyungsoo’s eyes wide and hands holding to his chest.

“I’m home.” Again, another first time for 5 years. This got off a smile from Kyungsoo as he realizes it.

“Do Kyungsoo! You’re back!” Kai ran to the door to greet him. If he had a dog’s tail it would be wagging now. “Food! Food!”

“Okay, okay. And Call me hyung from now on since I’m older than you.”

“ehh? How old are you?”

“I’m 21.”

“Oh, then you really are my hyung.” Kai immediately answered without thinking.

“How about you? How old are you?”

“I’m…20…?” Kai seemed surprised at the knowledge, but he disperses the thought and shook his head. “I’m not really sure you know…”

Kyungsoo stares at Kai on the new found memory though he is contemplating whether he should dot it or not.
