Extra: A sweet and romantic ending. The other guy is Kim Donghyun (Boyfriend), and he does love Jihye, but knows that she loves Hyunseong. A close friend of both of them, he's doing this because he knows that it might just be able to make Hyuneong come to his senses, and he wants them to be happy together. (This isn't much of a love triangle because he is ultimately trying to get them together, so that is why I didn't put his name above.) Oh and Hyunseong isn't a player, just so you know not to portray him as one.

Jihye’s POV~

I was simply sitting beside Hyunseong, waiting for him to tell me what’s on his mind. I haven’t seen him this broken since his parents almost abandoned him. He was so quiet it frightened me, so I gently rubbed his back and waited. Waited for him to tell me what happened this time.

“My girlfriend dumped me.” He muttered, barely audible above a whisper. I could only nod, motioning him to go on knowing there’s more to the story.

“She cheated on me with my best friend.” I couldn’t help but pity him, he’s been having so many bad things happening to him but I’ll always be by his side.

Yeah but what about his side of the bargain, when has he been there for you? I pushed away my inner thoughts and reminded myself this; it’s enough for me as long as I’m by his side.

I woke up to the sound of a knock at my door.

“It was just a dream.” I told myself and heard the knock again, this time sounding a little more desperate. It’s already 3 AM with the rain pouring heavily. Who would be here at this hour and weather? Another knock was made and I decided to go down, opening the door revealing Hyunseong soaking wet.

“Hyunseong?! What on Earth happened to you?” I asked in complete shock, pulling him inside. I tossed him a clean towel and went toward my kitchen, preparing a hot cup of tea.

“I’m sorry to come at this hour; I just needed someone to talk to.” I could only stare at the floor. This was how our friendship was; I would be the tower he would lean on, but he wouldn’t return the support.

“Neh, so what happened? Did you get beaten up?” I asked giving him a joking smile, but he only stood up and lifted his shirt, revealing several fresh bruises on his back.

Hyunseong’s POV~

I heard her gasp in horror; I don’t even know why I’ve gotten myself involved.

“Wait here, I’ll be back with the first aid kit, arasso?” I simply stood where I was and couldn’t help but feel a little guilty.

You know she likes you and has feelings for you, why are you being such a jerk and always imposing on her?

No, that isn’t the case. I might be overthinking things again. I heard her feet shuffling toward me and her hands gently grazed my back. I felt the cool and comforting medicine coming in contact with my skin and flinched when she applied slight pressure to my wounds.

“Yah don’t be a baby.” She said in a motherly tone. She lifted my shirt a little higher and I could feel her penetrating stare boring a hole into my back.

“You’re cut, we need to go to the doctors today as soon as possible. I think they open at 12, aish why so late?” I could only chuckle at her when she began arguing with herself.

“Ok, will you come with me?” I ask giving her a small smile, yet she looks at me with troubled eyes.

“I can’t Hyunseong.” I furrowed my eyebrows and asked,

“Wae? Are you scared of the doctor’s office? I’m the one who’s-”

“I have a date that time.” She interrupted me and I felt my chest tighten.

Jihye’s POV~

Like every awkward moment, I stood there rubbing the side of my arm.

“Who with?” Hyunseong asked me and I continued to avoid his stare. It’s been a one sided love for me for so long already, I finally decided to find love myself. I’m tired of it being unrequited, of me loving him but knowing he doesn’t love me back.

“Donghyun.” I know him; he’s done nothing wrong; over all he’s a great guy.

Someone better than you, he’ll probably hold her up and be there for her.

“He’s a great guy, I hope you have a good time then.” I said and grabbed my still soaking jacket.

“Where are you going?” Jihye asked.

“I think I’ve bother you enough, thanks for everything Jihye. Good night.” I said and I turned around, seeing her giving me a faint smile.

“More like good morning, it’s already 4 AM.”

Donghyun’s POV~

“Ne Jihye, gwenchana?” She slowly lifted her head to face me and gave me her usual smiles

“Kurro, sorry I’m just a little tired.” She comments. I could tell the minute I opened her door, she went through a lot. Probably involving Hyunseong, but I didn’t ask. One glance at those two and you could tell there was something there. Yet being the slow one, Hyunseong doesn’t get a grasp of things until he realizes he’s lost them. So, being the friend I am, I’m trying to speed things up and help Hyunseong realize how important Jihye is to him.

“Minahe Donghyun.” Jihye whispered giving me a small frown.

“Why are you sorry?” I asked ruffling her hair.

Jihye’s POV~

“Because, this is probably the worst date you’ve been on.” I said not bothering to deny it. He made an exaggerated thinking face and replied,

“Well, it’s not the WORST date I’ve been on.” He gave me a teasing smile and I could only return it with my own. I must be a horrible friend. Here I am with Donghyun, yet my mind’s drifting aimlessly toward Hyunseong. I was the one who wanted to forget about him, yet I’m still thinking about him, his image floating around my mind.

“So where’s Hyunseung?” Donghyun asked me and he gave me a knowing smile.

“You know about my feelings huh?” I asked, he’s the one who would notice these things. Donghyun rolled his eyes and replied,

“Well duh! So where it the kid?”

“Hopefully doctor’s, he got pretty beaten up last night.”

“Aish, that kid always gets found by trouble.”

“You mean trouble always finds him?”

“That’s what I said.”

“Yeah, sure you did.” We both exchanged glances and laughed. Donghyun is more like a brother to me, and I only now realize this.

“Well what are you still sitting here for? We both know that kid won’t go on his own. Go get him.” Donghyun says already pushing me out the door. When I was on the front porch outside his house, he held the door and held a fist saying,

“Fighting!~”

Hyunseong’s POV~

I heard a faint knock on my own door and groggily got up. It’s already 8 PM, that’s not really late but I’m pretty exhausted.

“Jihye?” I asked seeing her greeting me with a faint smile outlined by the street lights. It’s like God sent her here to mock me. The whole day it hurt when I thought about her and here she was; reminding me that she’s taken by Donghyun. She was completely and utterly unerasable from my mind. I saw a look of such affection etched in her face before she ran in and wrapped her arms around me.

“J-Jihye?” I asked, feeling my heart pounding away at my rib cage.

I don’t know what I was expecting from her, but it surely wasn’t anything like this. She ran up to me and wrapped her arms around my waist, as if holding on for dear life.

“Hyunseong, saranghae.”

Jihye’s POV~

Once the words escaped my mouth, it felt so right saying them. Yet I was terrified, how will he react? He gently lifted my chin and I saw such a perfect poker face, I didn’t know what to feel.

“Saranghae Jihye.” He whispered leaning down toward me, lessening the gap between us. I gently closed my eyes when his lips came into contact with my own, savoring every moment.
