Min Mi's POV~
"Yah Onew come back here!" I yell in a joking voice toward my best friend Onew. He turns around waving my wallet in front of him and teases,
"You have to catch me first!" I roll my eyes and run after him. Once I tackle him to the ground I wrestle him for my wallet.
"Yah Onew! That's not fair!" I say pouting. he ruffles my already messed up hair and asks innocently,
"What isn't?" I give him a joking glare and tell him,
"I was supposed to pay for the food!~" It was our usual weekend hang out. We went to see a movie, walked around the mall, then went to grab a bite to eat. Yet it's always a competition for Onew. He refuses to let me pay for the food. Not even half of it! Heck, not even the tip!! >.<
“I’m sorry. How about this, you can pay the next time, ne? Consider this one a gift.” He says patting my head like a little brother does to his little sister. I give him my puppy dog pout and kick him on his side.
“That’s what you said last time! And then when I saw that shirt I wanted you bought it and said it was a gift! Same thing with the shoes you bought me 2 weeks ago, Oh that was another gift too huh?” I whine.
Onew’s POV~
I was on the ground rubbing my sore side (yup, there’s gonna be a bruise there tomorrow TT^TT) when Min Mi suddenly pulled me by the arm and dragged me toward a local plaza.
“Where are we going MiMi?” I ask calling her by her nickname.
“I’m taking you to a café. And just to make sure nothing goes wrong.” She quickly pulls me close and digs through my jacket pockets. I blush realizing how close she is and I ask her,
“Wh-what are you doing?” I think I heard my voice crack in the middle. She takes out my wallet and puts it in her jean’s pocket -.- I gave her a joking glare and she replied with a merong sign.
“Come on. I wanna surprise you!” I can only laugh at her child like behavior that I’ve grown to know and let her drag me away.
Min Mi’s POV~
I lead him inside and I can already smell the French vanilla cream and coffee beans hitting my sense of smell. I look over at Onew and he’s drooling over the fresh pastries they just brought to the display table.
“How’d you find out about this place?” He asks me. I give him a sheepish smile and tell him,
“My dad.” He nods knowingly and we grab a seat at a nearby table.
“So what does your dad have in mind this time?” Onew asks once we gave the waitress our orders.
“You know, the usual. He hopes to broaden his field of business. I mean, he’s a workaholic after all ne?” Onew gives me a pity look and nods.
“Two cream latte’s with a pinch of cinnamon. Is that correct?” The waitress asks coming with our orders.
“Yes please.” I say and she hands us our two drinks. I was about to ask her about the cheesecake special when I noticed her looking (sorry starring and drooling) over Onew.
“Can I help you?” Onew asked noticing her eyes on him. She blushes and begins fidgeting and asks,
“You’re a new customer correct?” Onew gives her a confused nod and she continues,
“I thought so. I don’t remember seeing someone cute like you before. Are you free tonight?” She asks batting her fake eyelashes completely ignoring my presence.
“Um I-” Onew stuttered and she asked him,
“Is that a ye-Kyaa!”
Onew’s POV~
I looked over and saw Min Mi’s coffee mug on the floor with her drink spilled over the waitresses shoes.
“I-I’m so sorry!” Min Mi stuttered and offered to help the waitress, yet she just stormed to the back of the room. Min Mi was blushing and I asked her,
“What was that about?” She gave me an embarrassed look and mumbled,
“I don’t know. Something came over me I guess.”
Min Mi’s POV~
I honestly don’t know why I spilled my latte on the waitress. It was a complete accident...Sort of. I saw how she was openly flirting with Onew and before I knew it, my hand knocked over the coffee mug onto the floor and all over the waitress.
“I did apologize.” I say timidly looking at Onew. He gives me a crooked smile and tells me,
“It’s ok. I know you didn’t mean it, ne?” I nod like a child being scolded by a parent and he tells me,
“Then it’s ok. Come on smile.” He says. I give him a small smile and he shakes his head at me.
“No I want a genuine smile Come on, can Donald Duck make you laugh?” A small smile forms around my lips and he does his cute imitation and I giggle.
“That’s better.” He says and we continue talking like before.
Onew's POV~
“Hey Min Mi, were you jealous that the waitress was flirting with me?” I ask amused by her reaction. She choked on her cheesecake and coughed,
“Wh-what?” I see her blushing face and continue to pester her.
“Oh so you were? Was it because of my good looks?” I ask crossing my eyes and puffing out my cheeks. She rolls her eyes at me but I see a small smile coming out.
“Was it because of my awesome hair?” I ask imitating (and failing XD) our friend Jonghyun. She giggles a little,
“Or was it-” I began but she interrupted me and said,
“-because of your attractive chicken . ” She says and imitates a chicken. We both end up laughing at the table. She puts up her hot chocolate cup and says,
“Cheers. Hope we continue being close Onew. Happy 5-year-friendship anniversary. ” I clink mugs with her and say,
“Cheers.” Once she drank a sip out of her cup I quickly grabbed my wallet she left out on the table by mistake and said,
"I'm paying." She glared at me and I could only chuckle.

Min Mi’s POV~
“Min Mi? Hello? Is anybody home?” Onew asks mockingly while waving his hand in front of my face. I shake my thoughts out of my head and tell him.
“Yeah sorry. My mind’s kind of elsewhere.” Onew sighs and crosses his arms over his chest.
“Ok what’s wrong.” I give him a half-hearted smile and tell him,
“Nothing.” He turns his eyes into slits and says,
“You’re lying. We ordered your favorite Chocolate mousse cake and you haven’t even touched it. Come on MiMi, what’s wrong?” I take a deep breath, preparing to tell him the news.
“I’m going abroad for 5 years.”
Onew's POV~
"Wh-what?" I asked confused. I don't really know why but my heart was beating really fast and I couldn't focus clearly on the words Min Mi spoke.
"My dad wants me to take over the business, or at least get the hang of it so he's making me go to America in order to learn some things from his US business base." She said sounding more and more sad. I reached over our usual cafe table and took her hand. I honestly don't know what came over me, but it felt right to do that. She gave me her usual crooked smile and said,
"Thanks Onew. I needed that." I could only nod and try to make sense of what was going through my emotions right now.
Min Mi's POV~
“Min Mi! Come on we don’t want to miss our flight just because you insist on being a slow packer!” My mother says packing my clothes for me :d I was looking through my window across the street. Seoul looks beautiful at night. This will be the last time I’ll see this view for 5 years.
“Miss Han, will you be taking your cell phone with you?” My maid asks me.
“Yes, but can I please hold onto it till the airport. I wish to speak with some of my friends.” She nods and leaves the room as I dial my best friend.
Onew's POV~
“Yobseyo?” I ask once I answer my cell phone.
“Onew? Hey it’s me, Min Mi.”I hear on the other end of the line. I feel a sad smile forming and tell her,
“I know, I have caller ID.” She gives me her usual, small giggles and replies,
“I just wanted to talk. Are you busy?” I plop down on my bed and reply,
“What do you think?” She sighs and says,
“You’re laying on your bed right now aren’t you?”
“You know it.”
“Lazy fatty.”
“Ego Princess.”
“Chicken .”
“Cheapo-Who-Doesn’t-Let-Me-Pay-Anymore.” We both have a moment of pause before we start laughing at ourselves.
"So what are you doing?" I ask starring at my ceiling. She sighs and replies,
"Packing." There it is again. That small pain I feel in my chest.
"Oh." Was all that came out of my mouth.
Min Mi's POV~
"Hey mom, I'm going out for a bit." I say and head outside. On the other end of the line I hear Onew asking me,
"Where are you going out this late?"
"None of your business pabo." I say and head to our usual cafe that stay open till mid night.
"Can you believe this is our last conversation we're probably going to have?" I said trying to hide my sadness. I can practically imagine Onew nodding on the other end.
"Excuse me, what will it be?" A waiter asks me. I ask for a hot cup of green tea and Onew asks me on the otehr end of the line,
"You're at the cafe?" I chuckle and reply,
"Yeah, I just thought I'd get one last chocolate cake. You know, midnight cravings." Oenw chuckles and I was simply tracing the brim of my cup when I felt tears flowing down my cheeks.
"Min Mi? Are you crying?" I hear Onew ask on the other end of the line. I wipe them away and ask,
"Wh-what gives you that idea.-HIC!" Darn. I forgot i always hiccup if I try to hold back myself from crying. Onew sighs and asks me,
"What's wrong MiMi?" I always loved it when he called me by my nickname.
"It-it's noth-HIC!-ing." I say yet the tears are slowly forming at the corners of my eyes.
"Please tell me MiMi." He pleads. I look up at the ceiling so the tears won't fall and tell him,
"Onew, Saranghae. I love you more than a friend should." I hang up and leave money for the tea and a letter that's weighed down by my tea cup. I ran out of that cafe as fast as my legs could carry.
Onew's POV~
"I love you more than a friend should." I heard and then the line was cut off. I grabbed my jacket and ran ot the cafe that was only 2 blocks away. Once I burst through the door to the cafe i looked at our usual table and saw a cup sitting on the table weighing down a note, There was some tea left and it was still pretty warm. I looked at the envelope and opened it once I sat down across from her seat like usual. I was surprised to find $5 inside along with a letter that read,
Dear Onew,
I'm sorry I could only pay for a cup of coffee for now but that was all the money I had in my pocket at the moment. I know it's not even close to the gifts you got me, yet I know the memories we had make up for that. So as your first and last gift from me; one regular cup of coffee with sugar and cream.
