She's Gone

Encore Separation

BOOK 1 : Chapter 12

Everything got worst.

All of it was just unacceptable.

Principal Lee Sooman informed all the girls parents about what happened and 'suggested' that they should look after their children more. In conclusion, the girls are all transferring to other schools. Whether if it's just a taxi ride away, a costly train ticket, or an expensive flight on a plane. They are all being separated.

Lee Sooman and his words. Just too powerful and brainwashing.

"What happened to Miss Kim Taeyeon was very unfortunate and I suggest that you look upon your daughter starting right now."

Like a script, with additional other things he said, Lee Sooman was successful in influencing them.

"What are you doing there?" Jessica didn't dare to look behind her back because she knew very well who the person is. She let out a sigh of irritation and placed all her school papers inside her handbag. She walked past him and without looking as if he was invisible.

He crossed his eyebrows and clenched his teeth at her actions. He walked faster and reached for her wrist, yanking her whole body back to him and she forcefully pulled her hand away.

"I just asked you a question." She rolled her eyes at him and darted him with her ever so cold stare.

"Isn't it obvious? You know the news the already. Don't play dumb Heechul."

He was restraining himself to sound weak but he couldn't help but ask. . . . . "You're not coming back?"

She gulped the lump in . She is still full of range because of what happened but at the same time she was devastated upon how things ended up between everyone. "There is nothing more I can do. It's me and San Francisco." She looked at the ground and frowned as she remembers something. "It's his fault from the start."

"Here we go again!" He contained his anger inside one more time. "It was an accident."

"Yeah, you must believe and insist it's an accident." Her cold statement pulled the trigger in his mind. He raised his hand ready to slap her straight to but his hand stopped in midair. "What? You want to hit me?" She stepped closer with a stiff face in front of him. "What are you waiting for huh?"

Heechul clamped his fist tightly closed at his side and gritted his teeth. "I can't believe you . . . .  I don't know if I can forgive you on what you just said ! "

"I wasn't asking or waiting for it anyway." She turned around and stomped her feet in the halls.

"Hey, Hey Yuri!" She glanced back at the person. "Yuri-ah where are you off to?" She was about to run inside the train as the doors opened right before her eyes. She in front then behind her back, at the train then back at him. She must set things clearly first.

She backed away from the train with her luggage. "I'm on my way to Goyang." She gave him a weak smile. Something that she has never shown him before since both of them were always on either laugher or quarrel when they collide.

"What's with the huge packing?" He didn't want to act stupid because all of them were just well informed but it's just a simple way of killing the time. "You're going to stay there aren't you?"

She smiled wider, bravely looked at him and nodded. He smiled and nodded too, only that he didn't look at her.

His body started to get stiff as another train stopped. She starts to pull her luggage but stopped again. "Wait, wait . . . wait." he might appear as normal as his everyday routine but his breathing was unnoticeably abnormal. "We're cool right? You're not holding any grudge right?"

She unknowingly laughed bitterly. "I can't answer that now. Sorry." She turned around and run but she missed another train yet again. It was like the longest time Yuri waited for a train to arrive and when it finally did, he called her again.

"Yuri-ah!" She glanced back at him again. "Remember that I'm still your number 1 bully OK?"

She showed him and 'OK' sign and entered the pool of people inside the train.Yesung stood still and watched the doors closed in front of him. He smiled brightly at her one last time. He can't tell if she was leaving Seoul happily that she was laughing or she was breaking and hurting inside that was sobbing.

"Must you really do this?" He couldn't careless if his voice was cracking while watching her pack her things.

"My family and I are moving to Japan and this will not just work." He leaned his back at the door and stood in silence. "Hankyung-oppa, can you help me with this?" He can see that she has trouble locking her luggage but must he help her or not?

He unwillingly went next to her and locked it shut. Just after the clicking sound he pulled her into a hug. "Can you just not leave me?"

She starts to burst into tears and whimpered onto his chest. "I don't want to leave and you know that ! "

"So why are you ending our relationship right now?!" He suddenly broke away and frowned.

"Because I know it will just not work out! " Before their conversation reached its maximum limit Sooyoung's phone rang. She calmed herself and controlled her breathing before answering. "Yoboseyo . . . . . Yes appa I'm on my way to the airport."

She grabs her stuffs and exits her dorm with Hankyung trailing behind her. "Let me take you there. . ."

She bluntly shakes her head and rejected his offer. "Trust me . . . you don't want to."

She blinks her tears away and turns around. She then hailed a taxi and went straight to the airport.

They stared at each other for a few more second before acknowledging each others presence.

"It's OK Seohyun you take this taxi I'll wait for another one." He gestured her to go inside but she waved her hand in protest.

"No Kyuhyun-ssi, I'm not in a hurry so you can take it." He peeked his head inside and told the taxi driver something then it started to drive away.

Her eyes went wide to what just happened so he quickly explained. "I sent him off because I just want to ask you something."

In the middle of the noisy street wasn't a very nice place to have a talk so they went inside the nearest coffee shop. Truth was that the big backpack and keroro gunso bag caught his attention.

He finally starts to talk after their order was served. "Is it too much is I ask you where you're going?"

She took a sip of her coffee and let it take away the coldness that she felt outside the streets of Seoul before answering his question. "My parents said that they are transferring me to an all girls school."

He traced circles over the table with his fingers and didn't manage to look at her. "Can I know where is it? . . . . It's still at Seoul right?"

She looked at him oddly but answered his question again. "Luckily it is!" Despite how cheerful her voice was, her face dropped down and a sighed escaped . "But my parents will just lock me inside our house because are the one who will send me to school and take me home."

He took his wallet and slightly slammed the paper bill on the table. He only waved goodbye and rushed outside.

Hyoyeon was taking her last dancing time inside the school's practice room. Right after taking her school records, she went straight there, thought it wasn't planned but she just want to enter there one last time. After exhausting herself with her passion she turns off her phone and grabs her things. The door swung open and her feet was glued to the group when she saw who was coming.

"I knew it wasn't my imagination. I have a feeling you were the one in here."

How she regretted staying longer than what she has planned. "You know you are the last person I want to see right now."

He shuts his eyes in annoyance but he raised his hand in defeat. He went outside and shuts the door. After a few seconds she then went to the door ready to leave but it's locked.

"So you can hear me now huh?" she was a bit startled with his voice from the other side. "If you don't want to see me at least listen to what I have to say."

"What are you doing?" She asked through her gritted teeth.

"Well . . . a got a help from a single chair which is acting as a lock right now." He forced a chuckle trying to ease up the tension as he sits on the floor and lean his back at the door.

She rolled her eyes despite knowing that he wouldn't see it. "This is no time to fool around."

"If you don't want to see me at least listen to what I have to say."

"It's not like I have a choice. . ." She sat and leaned her back over the door. Just like having a mirror view of each other.

"What have I done? Why have you become like this to me?" Her heartbeat accelerated at his remark. There was no warning but direct question.

There was no answer.

"Why are you doing this to me?" He let out a loud sigh. "Aren't we best friends? Aren't we suppose to tell each other important thing?!" He sure sounded like nagging in his last statement.

"That's the problem we are just best friends!" She wants to shout it out loud because everyday and every night that sentence kept echoing inside her mind. She wonders if he was eager to know her answer as much as she wants to tell him. It was now or never. "You really want to know?"

Then she got a shot of reality. She will be leaving tomorrow. She will stay at Incheon and never knowing when she can go back at Seoul. What benefit will she gain if she does peak her mind?

"I hate you Lee Hyukjae." The painful craving for escape leads her to lie. "I feel burdened when you're around." She sniffs and wipes off the tears that started to spill down her eyes. "I was always there for you but YOU weren't there when we needed help because you decided to stick up with your so called brothers."

"But what am I suppose to do that time huh?!" He shifted his body to his side making his voice more louder for her to hear.

"That is the thing! You didn't do anything! Not even talk in our defense! " Her breathing became rapid. What she said was all truth but never in her entire life that she would hate him for that. She know him well and she understands his behavior. Still she must make an excuse. "I don't want to see your face again."

Just then her heard him stood up. Even after hearing a thud sound letting her know that the door was unlocked she still didn't move. Last thing she heard was sounds of footsteps fading away.

Sungmin just stared blankly at his dinner. Who would have the appetite anyway? With all the things happening at the moment, he would just want to take a break. Eventually his self rambling was interrupted when his phone rang.

"Yoboseyo?" He answered in a rather annoyed tome but being too lazy to look at the caller I.D. was a little false move.

"Lee Sungmin." His eyes almost popped out when he heard her voice. He was sure that he is not dreaming.

"Sunny-ah." He stood up from his seat and smiled but at the same time his eyes begins to damp.

"Don't get the wrong idea." Just when he thought it was his chance to make it right, his plans got shattered. "I want you to listen and listen very carefully."

Sunny glanced outside her uncle's window. She only said a 'few minutes', meaning she only has a few minutes or else her uncle will come running back at her inside their car in the airport parking lot. All alone in the vehicle and a few minutes left with her hand tightly clutching her phone.

"I called because I want to set things clear between us before I left for Kuwait. Yeah you heard it right. My family decided to settle in Kuwait again and I will not be coming back any sooner."

"Is that all you have to say? Then can I state my story?" Asking for permission was another stupid question.

"No, just no more Sungmin. I'm tired of your sugarcoated words." She managed to sound as calm as possible. "I'm tired because I'm the only on making efforts and taking risks."

"Sunny, please just listen to me. Even if I want to, I can't battle against your uncle and you know that very we-"

"Stop! right there . . . " She takes the phone away from her face. She just could hold her tears anymore but she rubbed it off her face and went right back where she left. "I don't think you deserve anymore chance."

And that was their last conversation.

Early morning but Tiffany's whole system was against what she was doing right now. For a girl with all smiles, her red and swollen eyes were still a bit noticeable. With her ticket to Los Angeles loosely grasp by her right hand, she got off the taxi and glanced around the airport.

Her sight was fixed on the tiled floor while walking but it eventually lessened as she sees a familiar shadow.

"Tiffany?" She looked up at him and gave a weak smile.

"What are you doing here? How did you know I'm here?"

"I've followed you the moment you stepped out of your dorm." Pathetic isn't he? His plan was to give a visit but he ended up stalking her when he saw her pink luggage. Then there was the awkward silence between them. Why did he follow her in the first place? "Don't go." His tone was moderately authoritative like he is commanding her to do so.

"I can't." She stated with all simplicity and clearness.

"Tell me . . . . is there really nothing I can do?" His perception was implanted to her eyes. She just shakes her head in return.

Siwon felt like being bitten with the fang of pain comprehending the idea of her leaving. Still he flashed his irritable sweet smile and took a hold of her luggage.

"I must not be possessive of you Tiffany." He gestured her to walk up front.

She stared at him in awe but there is clearly nothing else she could do, nothing else anyone can do.

"Enjoy your trip." He muttered as he prepares himself to leave her side.

Around the streets of Seoul there is a girl named Yoona who is busy staring down at her hot coffee and pancake inside a small fast food.

"Is this seat taken?" His voice was all too recognizable to her but she didn't move. "I guess that's a yes."

He sat across her with a slight frown plastered in his face.

"Why didn't you tell me Yoona?" He sounded mad but he still didn't lose his calm and collected expression. "Do you know how much of a fool I thought about myself when Donghae told me it was you."

She suddenly looked straight at him. "How did he know? I didn't even tell him." Her expression was all empty and blank. "And don't give me that tone of voice because you didn't know how much stupid I felt when you were blabbering you mouth in front of me."

His face softened and he blinked a few times. Was he really that blind? Was it really his fault that he only sees Yoona as a friend. "Yoona, please don't hate me." She dropped her sight back at the table again. "I'll be leaving soon and I want to set things nice between us."

"Not now." She muttered. "Just not now." She arranged her things and got up from her seat but not before saying one last thing. "You don't know how much I regret the things I did for you Kibum."

Leeteuk walked the same path all over again recently. The scent of fresh flowers in his hands tickled his nose. Slowly he opens the same old door and went to his usual place. He takes peek inside the room but it was empty.

He rushed to the information desk and asked the doctors.

"Excuse me." He taps a man in a white uniform. "May I know where did the patient named Kim Taeyeon went?"

"Oh that girl? Her parents took her early this morning. I heard they are going to Jeonju."

Few days back:

"Oppa!" She uttered the moment Leeteuk stepped inside her room. He took a seat to the side of her bed. "Kangin told me everything and I can't believe what is happening right now. Why did out principal made a big deal in such a small accident?"

He frowned at her words. "Small accident? Taeyeon both of you were in great danger and you don't know how relieved we are went the doctor us you're OK."

"Why must we all part ways like this?" She grips his shoulder forcefully but he pulled her in for a hug in return as she started to bawl.

He bites his lower lip to prevent any sound that will make him appear weak. He can think of anything anymore. He doesn't even know how she felt knowing that all the girls will get separated and at the same time being left by Kangin.

She tried to calm herself down but she failed to do so. She was used to bottling up her feelings that she couldn't no longer control her emotions at the moment. Her uneven breathing and silent whimper crushes his heart to pieces. All he managed to do in envelope her in his arms. He didn't knew that sooner she will be gone because if he did, he would have never let go of her that time.

~_~_~

Hell, all of them can say that she's gone. All the girls are gone.

The girls bid their final goodbyes to each other. Taeyeon's hospital room wasn't a cozy place but they didn't have any choice anyway. All the tears that they shed could actually fill a river. Whether if it's inside a taxi, a train running on tracks, or seated on a comfortable chair at a plane, these girls couldn't stop themselves from crying.

So the big question right now is . . . Will they be able :

To Love Again
