“Dad…wake up”

“He’s not going to wake up….it’s still early”

“Dad”

“Dad…wake up now…please” Russelle whispered in my ear and when I opened my eyes, I saw my sons standing in front of me.

“mmmmm” I stretched my body.

“He’s awake” Danny whispered to his brothers, but it’s loud enough for me to hear.

It’s still so early in the morning and I don’t know why these kids are already awake. Today is the start of my one week vacation from work and I’m feeling so good about the whole idea because I’ll be able to focus on my family now.

“What is it?” I asked while leading them outside the room for us not to wake ________ up.

As we sit on the couch, my sons surrounded me right away like they were up to something and they’re going to recruit me to do some dirty job. If you’re going to look at us, we are like four men planning something bad for we are huddled so close together.

“Dad…we want to swim” Gabrielle started, with his lips near my ear.

“OK” I said while nodding my head.

“We heard the noonas talking about swimming last night and they want mum to swim with them” Russelle continued.

“Then go…do you want me to ask mum to accompany you guys?” I asked and they all shook their heads.

“Why?” I asked curiously.

“Because mum has a lot of rules whenever we swim….she doesn’t want us to go in the water without any floaters….we can’t jump and dive to the water…and….she will just let us swim for an hour” Danny answered, making me smile by my wife’s cute rules.

I must say, _________ really have a lot of rules around the house and it is sometimes a bit over the top. Like her rule that one mistake of a kid, punishment goes with the others. I know that I also have a say when it comes to these things but then again, I trust my wife and I know that she knows what she’s doing and as long as our kids are not being suffocated by these rules, I’m good with it.

“So…you want me to swim with you?” I asked and they all nod.

“Dad…please…the noonas will be waking up soon and if we’re not going to move fast….they will wake mum up and she’ll be the one swimming with us” Gabrielle said and I ruffled his hair because he really looks so worried.

“Arasso…get into your swim wear already and I’ll do the same” I told them and they clapped their hands in celebration.

“We won!” they gave each other high fives while going to their room, making me smile.

This is really new to me. I haven’t tried swimming early in the morning and I’m so sure that it’s still cold outside. Aigoo. Why didn’t I think of that awhile ago?

After we change into our swim wears, we head straight to the pool and I’ve inflated all of their floaters just in case they want to use it. Well, our six older kids knows how to swim in their young age so we don’t have to worry about them swimming around, we just have to watch them in case something happens.

“Dad…this ball isn’t inflated yet” Russelle said while dragging the airless ball towards me.

“This dolphin too dad” Gabrielle said.

“I want to ride this dragon” Danny said while dragging a long dragon floater.

“Where did you get all these?” I asked while looking at the additional floaters to be inflated.

“Mum bought all of them…she’s really afraid that we might drown so she bought a lot of floaters” Danny answered and I chuckled.

“Not only that dad…mum scatters them all over the pool…so that we can just grab them if ever we’re already near drowning” Gabrielle added.

“Which makes the pool crowded and we can’t enjoy it to the max” Russelle followed.

I can see how paranoid my wife is when it comes to the kids. Now I can say that she’s as protective as Daryl even though she’s been telling us that she’s not. I can’t blame her though, she’s a mum, of course, being protective is just natural.

“You kids are so unfair!” the girls shrieked from the back door with their hands on their hips.

And the princesses of the house are here, ready to cut the little kids’ fun. I don’t know, but I really like how my sons are afraid of their sisters. Of course, there is a lot of fighting that the members and I call, clash of the Kwons. There was this one time when all the members are hanging out in our house and the kids are around, they started cool but after a few minutes, they started shouting at each other and the girls are going ballistic because their brothers ruined their Barbie’s hair. Next thing we know it, the five of us are stopping them with Seungri being the negotiator.

“Join us girls!” I shouted from the pool and they came near us.

“Dad…is it cold?” DK asked.

“It’s not…I had the heaters on” I answered and she dipped her foot in the water and nod in satisfaction.

“OK…I’m going in” she said and ran inside the house to change.

“And you little miss’?” I asked the two older girls who are still sulking over the little boys swimming first before them.

“Dad…mum will get mad once she sees this” Gabby said while sitting on the side of the pool with her feet in the water.

“Don’t worry…I got you kids” I said confidently and Isabella sighed while settling beside her sister.

“Mrs. Kwon will go wild” Isabella said and I splashed water on the girls for they are acting like adults once again.

“Aigoo…yah! There goes your adult blood once again” I told them and they splashed water at me too.

And next thing I know it, the six kids are all in the pool already and they’re having the time of their lives. The floaters that I’ve inflated are not in the pool for they don’t want it to be crowded. I just let them do what they want and play, after all, this is a rare moment and I’m glad that I’ve got to experience this again.

 “uh-oh” DK said while riding on my back.

And my wife walks in with her hands on her hips and is having the same expression that our daughters have awhile ago.

Now I can really say that our little girls are really like their mum in all aspects. They act the same, think the same, talks the same, and dress the same. Aigoo. This is the reason why I really pushed in having a son.

I saw how my wife freaked out when she saw Danny do the summersault and it really made my day. Her reaction is really funny and it’s epic. Well, it seems like my wife is in a good mood for she didn’t scolded us at all. She’s acting cool with the whole swimming party and I’m loving it.

“Have you eaten breakfast already?” she asked while staring at the girls who are jumping in the water as well.

And there goes my lovely wife doing breakfast for us. I have forgotten breakfast completely for I’m really enjoying every second with my kids. Of course, we already know what’s on the menu for in the Kwon household, mornings will never be the same without pancakes.

“Wow dad…mum didn’t scold us” Isabella said once ________ went back inside the house.

“I told you…I got you guys” I said proudly and she just smiled at me.

“Dad…is mum going to join us?” Gabby asked while riding a dragon floater.

“I don’t know…she’s going to make breakfast” I answered.

“Pancakes!” Danny shouted in glee.

And the fun goes on for us. The kids are having a race and it nearly started a fight between the girls and boys once again, good thing, my senses are fast and I was able to do something about it. Of course, once a fight brews up, the fun has to stop.

“Babe…I’m gonna buy some ingredients at the supermarket…our pantry is almost empty” ________ said while holding Karielle whose eyes got big upon seeing her brothers and sisters having fun in the pool.

I got out of the water and went near her “Are you sure you can shop with Karielle?” I asked.

“I guess I can…I mean…can you handle seven kids alone?”she asked while looking at my face and down my body.

Aigoo. My wife can’t get enough of my body. AISH! I haven’t even worked out for weeks and here she is, staring at it. OK. I’m going a bit far. I’ll stop it.

“Jiyong…the last time that I left you with the kids…you guys almost ruined everything in the house” she told me and I was reminded of that worse moment once again.

Well, that won’t happen again for I will not let that happen. There what this one time that the boys and I are so into playing, we almost knocked out a jar that my mother in-law gave. Not to mention, we have stained the couch with orange juice. What can I do? Boys will always be boys. We’re not like girls who are good in chatting.

In the end, I got my seven kids with me and I’m with them, ALONE. I’m quite confident that I’ll be able to handle them well for they listen to me and obeys always. I’m also happy for I got to take care of Karielle this time.

“Do you want to swim too baby girl?” I asked.

“Dad…Karielle doesn’t know how to swim yet” Isabella shouted from the pool.

“I’ll hold her…she really wants to join you guys” I told them and looked at my little daughter who is just so giggly whenever water splashes on her.

“C’mon…dad will change your clothes” I said and led her in the house.
