Sooyoung and Hankyung's ABC

ABC

A is for alarm

The door swung open, revealing fifteen men running all over the dorm. Sooyoung blinked. What the hell was going on? When she decided to visit Super Junior's dorm, she wasn't expecting this sight at all. The alarm of the dorm was ringing wildly and she just had to cover her ears. She looked around amidst the chaos and found the source of all their panic. Her eyes widened as she saw smoke coming out of the kitchen.

"What's going on?"

"Sooyoung, just stay there. Don't go in." Leeteuk instructed her. "Don't go anywhere near the kitchen."

"Is the kitchen on fire?" Her eyes widened in alarm.

Kangin made a face at her. "Your boyfriend wanted to please you so he went on trying to cook international recipes he didn't know."

True to Kangin's word, it didn't take long before Hankyung stepped out of the kitchen, smiling sheepishly at her.

"I just wanted to cook pot roast for you."

Despite the fact that he nearly burned the dorm down, she loved him even more.

B is for Buffet

Hankyung looked at his surroundings and smiled in content. It was definitely a good idea that it was decided that there would be a buffet in the reception of the wedding. He glanced at his side and watched as his wife ate happily. "Is the food good?"

"Very good, oppa." Sooyoung beamed. "It's really a good idea that we decided to have a buffet for our reception."

He smiled once more. He knew that a buffet would please his wife the most. But as he glanced to another table and saw Changmin, Kangin and the rest of Super Junior and DBSK eating as if there's no tomorrow, he was glad spending all that money was worth it.

C is for Cry

Sooyoung waited patiently in the empty SNSD dorm. As soon as she got the message from him, she pretended that she was sick in order to skip performing with the rest of the girls. She didn't want to ditch her eight sisters but they understood and even helped her skip their schedule. There was nothing more important than this. Her head snapped up when she heard the front door open. She knew it was him. She secretly gave him a spare key to the dorm when they began dating. Sooyoung got up from her bed and dashed out of her room, pausing in her tracks when she saw him standing in their living room with the hood of his jacket and his sunglasses shielding his face.

Wordlessly, she went over to him and took his hand in hers before leading him to her room. Once the door was shut, she turned to observe the silent man before her and her heart instantly broke into pieces.

"Am I doing the right thing?"

She went over and sat beside him on her bed. "Oppa, you did what you think is best for you."

"The guys... I-I let them down..." He whispered as fresh tears rolled down his cheeks. "They're going to hate me..."

"They'll understand... They might not understand now but the day will come that they will."

He looked at her. “How come you understand me?”

Sooyoung took it upon herself to remove his sunglasses and the hood of his jacket, revealing his face to her. “I understand you just as how you understand me.”

Without warning, he leaned in and sobbed against her chest. Momentarily caught off guard, Sooyoung immediately snapped out of her surprise and wrapped her arms around the broken man, doing her best to comfort him.

Now that everything in Hankyung’s life seemed like it was falling apart, she was the only one he had left.

D is for Dance

Practices for the SM Town concert are obviously harder than other practices so Sooyoung wasn’t really surprised when she realized all members of Super Junior, SNSD and DBSK were scattered on the floor of the enormous dance room they’ve been practicing for the past few hours. Everyone was either catching their breath, drinking water or lying on the floor, looking very stressed out. So when Junsu suddenly suggested that they should do something fun while on break, everyone readily agreed.

Eunhyuk played some dance music from the CD player and he, Hankyung, Donghae and Shindong all dared everyone into a dance off. It didn’t take long before Junsu, Leeteuk and Yunho to join and soon everyone else were watching the seven boys going at it in the middle of the room.

Sooyoung didn’t entertain thoughts of dancing with them until Hankyung challenged her to be part of the showdown. Yoona and Hyoyeon were already part of the 'contest' and being the competitive person she naturally was, she didn’t back down. As she began to dance to the beat along with everyone on the dance floor, she watched Hankyung do what he did best. She always found him to be a very charismatic person with a great smile and killer dance and cooking skills. She knew any girl would fall head over heels for him.

But as she suddenly missed her footing as she danced with him, she wasn’t expecting to be the one who would literally fall head over heels for him.

E is for ELFs

Hankyung was a man of surprises and he proved just that when he asked Sooyoung to marry him in front of all the fans and artists in the Dream Concert.

Of course the ELFs were more than just upset. As far as they were concerned, no one should take their beloved Hankyung oppa from them. Sooyoung managed to earn more haters overnight and she wasn’t really surprised when she read rude things about her online. But when she talked to Hankyung about explaining to the ELFs, he just told her to let them be.

“Fans come and go.” He said to her. “But the love of your life comes only once.”

He said that the fans would learn to accept reality… and just like every idol who knew his fans, he was right.

F is for Friends?

Everytime Hankyung was teased about how jealous he was of Sooyoung and Sungmin’s close relationship thanks to Chunji, he always said it wasn’t true. He and Sooyoung were just friends so the word jealously just didn’t exist in their relationship.

But when everyone noticed that Sooyoung was obviously jealous over Hankyung and Jessica thanks to the video of Super Girl, everyone decided that the word friends just didn’t exist anymore in their relationship.

G is for Goddess

Everyone god needs a goddess… and she was more than happy to be his.

All hail food god and goddess... as what Heechul would always say.

H is for Hiking

When he told her that they were going hiking, she was more than ecstatic. She was an adventurous girl and hiking just fit in her list of likes. When he handed her the brochure of the place they were going to, she was stunned into silence.

“Sooyoung? Are you okay?”

She looked up from the brochure. “Is this serious?”

Hankyung pouted. “Do I look like a clown to you?”

She looked at the tickets in his hand then at the travel brochure of the Great Wall of China in her hands. She wanted to say something but she really couldn’t.

I is for I Know

“I love you.”

“I know.”

Hankyung pouted. “What happened to ‘I love you too’?”

J is for Jealous

“Just admit it, Soo. You’re jealous!”

“I’m not jealous!” Sooyoung said for the nth time since Sungmin, Yoona and Yuri began teasing her about Hankyung and Jessica. “You guys are so annoying!”

Yoona rolled her eyes. “We’ll stop if you just admit it. There’s no harm in doing so, unnie.”

“Why the hell would I admit something that isn’t true?”

“Soo, there’s no use denying it.” Sungmin told her. “We could see the look on your face everytime you watch the video of Super Girl.”

“She doesn’t even like watching it.” Yuri pointed out. “She just watches it because she doesn’t want to hurt Sica unnie’s feelings.”

“Guys…” Sooyoung whined. “Can you stop this? I’m not jealous of them… period.”

“We’ll stop if you just admit the truth.” Sungmin patted her head. Simultaneously, the all raised their right hands. “We promise not to tell.” They all chirped in unison.

Sooyoung let out an exasperated sigh. If some rumor comes out, at least she knows who to blame. “Okay, fine! I’m jealous of them. Are you happy now?”

“Who’s jealous of who?”

They all turned around to see Hankyung standing by the door with a questioning look on his face.

K is for Korean

Hankyung watched with a combined look of interest and amusement on his face as he watched Sooyoung reciting in front of him. She was holding a Korean to Mandarin language guide book in her hand and she was trying her best to learn  the language but, from the looks of things, to no avail. He had already told her that she didn’t need to learn to speak Mandarin since he knew how to speak Korean and they could converse just fine. But she insisted on doing so since it’s the right thing to do as his girlfriend.

But as she mispronounced word after word, she gave him a stressed, frustrated and tired look. “Oppa, help me.”

“I think you should just stick to Korean.”

It wasn’t that he was discouraging her from learning his language. He actually found it very sweet of her. He just didn’t want her to have difficulties with studying. But when she ignored his advised and kept on reading words alien to her, he couldn’t help but smile and love her even more.

L is for Luggage

Super Junior was about to leave for the Super Show 2 overseas concerts so Sooyoung had all but rushed to their dorm to help the certain Chinese native pacl. Hankyung was going to be gone for a long time and Sooyoung knew she’d miss him so much but they really didn’t have a choice, did they?

Hankyung was in the living room, talking to his umma about the possibility of him visiting her when they head to Beijing so she was left all alone in his room. She finally decided to take a look at the things he already packed and figure out just what else he needed. She opened her suitcase to start; her jaw soon dropping in shock.

On top of all his clothes were a picture of her with her newly-cut short hair, one of her shirts that didn’t fit her anymore and a bottle of her favorite perfume.

M is for Matching

Their bandmates found it so cheesy that they had matching things but they didn’t mind. They had matching jackets, matching necklaces, matching top siders, matching favorite mugs, and whatnot. So they weren’t really surprised when Heechul stood before them, scrutinizing their outfits.

“The same black and white striped jacket, the same beanie and the same necklace…” Heechul rolled his eyes before storming off. “You two should really get a life.”

“YOU SHOULD GET YOURSELF A GIRLFRIEND.” Hankyung yelled after him. “YOU’RE GETTING TOO OLD ALREADY!”

“AISH! GET BACK HERE ,YOU BASTARD!”

Next thing Sooyoung knew was she was running, laughing so hard they could barely breathe. Hankyung held her hand as he effortlessly led the way around the SM Building to get as far away from the angry Heechul as possible. It didn’t take long for them to find an empty rehearsal room in a hallway they knew Heechul wouldn’t head to.

“That was fun.” Sooyoung said as she attempted to calm down.

He watched her with a tender smile on his face. “You’re beautiful.”

She giggled. “Heechul oppa is right. We are cheesy.”

“That’s why we match.”

Then, she felt his lips on hers.

N is for Note

“Must not invite Junsu to vacation next time.”

She wasn’t really surprised to find the note in his journal after their nearly disastrous vacation. Well, it was supposedly just her and Hankyung going on vacation… but somehow, Junsu, Jessica, Heechul, Hyoyeon and Eunhyuk all ended up going with them. Hankyung had rented a large rest house in the countryside and everyone thought everything would go well…

A near fire in the kitchen, countless smacks to Junsu’s head, and a couple annoying interruptions just as Sooyoung and Hankyung were about to kiss later… Everyone thought wrong.

O is for Only Love

SNSD is one of the newest members of the SM family so when they were informed that they were going to be part of the Only Love song for the SM Town album, they were naturally more than excited. “Who are you singing with, unnie?” Seohyun, who was singing with Super Junior’s Leeteuk, asked.

“Hankyung oppa.” Sooyoung replied. “I’ve never really talked much to him before so this would really be awkward.”

“It might not be, unnie.” She smiled.

Few days later brought the day for the MV filiming. Her SNSD bandmates wouldn’t stop bugging her about trying to get to know her partner for the day and when she finally agreed to, they were surprised to find him standing outside their dressing room just when she was about to head to his. The first thing she noticed was his smile. He seemed to smile so shyly and it didn’t take long for her to it.

She just didn’t know yet that he’d be the first and only guy she’d love.

P is for Part

“Sooyoung?” Leeteuk said in surprise when he opened the door of their dorm and found her standing there. “What are you doing here?”

She glanced past his shoulder and saw that the rest of Super Junior was in the living room. Apparently, they were having a bonding session or whatnot. “I’m just here to bring your gift.”

He arched an eyebrow. “It’s no one’s birthday and it’s not Christmas either.”

Fourteen pairs of eyes widened and fourteen jaws dropped when Hankyung suddenly appeared behind him. Sooyoung glanced up at his face and smiled at him in reassurance, wordlessly encouraging him to say something. Hankyung took in a deep breath and smiled at his friends. “I’m back.”

Before Sooyoung knew it, all fourteen men flooded out of the dorm to welcome Hankyung back. Leeteuk was crying, obviously happy that Super Junior was complete again. Heechul was hugging Hankyung, sobbing and screaming at the same time, happy that his best friend is back and he could make up for the things he failed to do before. The other members were all emotional and it was definitely a picture perfect moment. Sooyoung’s hand made its way to her face and she realized she was crying happy tears. No words could describe that moment. It was just absolutely perfect.

Once Hankyung was freed from his friends and everyone was inside the dorm, he made his way over to her and took her hand in his. “Thank you.”

“Thank you!” The other fourteen chirped in unison and Sooyoung couldn’t help but giggle.

Hankyung would always be part of Super Junior.

Q is for Quarter

“A penny for your thoughts, a nickel for a kiss… a dime if you tell me that you love me…” Sooyoung sand effortlessly along with the international famous ballad she was listening to.

“How about a quarter?”

She paused and thought about Hankyung’s question. How come she never thought of that?

R is for Ringtone

The ringtone of his phone is her version of I Am, Inuyasha’s theme song, just as the ringtone of her phone is his part of the Asian Games 2010 song.

S is for Sleepover

“What the hell is going on?” Sooyoung scratched her eyes sleepily as Yoona dragged her out of the bed she was already peacefully sleeping in earlier. She found the rest of the girls in their pajamas, standing in the living room with their jaws hanging. She scratched her eyes once more before she finally caught sight of the source of all the commotion.

Hankyung was standing by the door of their dorm with a bag in one hand and a pillow in another; her favorite shy smile of his plastered on his face. “May I sleep here? Heechul hyung is snoring.”

T is for Twenty Four

Sooyoung recalled that specific interview wherein it was revealed that she wanted to get married by the age of twenty four. She really wasn’t expecting it to come true. The more she wasn’t expecting to be married to Hankyung exactly on her twenty fourth birthday.

“Happy birthday.” He whispered before he leaned in for their first kiss as husband and wife.

U is for Understatement

“Must keep Junsu away from Sooyoung.”

This time around, she was surprised to find that note.

She knew that Hankyung was just joking but she could tell that there was a little something in there. She and her Junsu oppa were really close and that could be traced all the way back to their training days. Sooyoung also had to admit that Junsu did seem to flirt with her from time to time.

To say that Hankyung wasn’t fond of that was the understatement of the century.

V is for Very Good

Hankyung stared at her with her eyes nearly popping out of their sockets and his jaw hanging. Before him, Sooyoung was telling him about her very exhausting day in straight, perfect Mandarin. He had just opened his mouth to answer when he remembered who he was talking to. He couldn’t believe at all. She did it… and she did it all for him.

“So how did I do, oppa?” She asked him, switching back to Korean.

“Very good.”

W is for Wo Ai WHAT?!

Sooyoung stared at Hankyung, stunned with the words he just spoke. Everyone around them all watched in stunned silence just as she was. It was the annual Christmas party of SM Entertainment and Sooyoung just received the biggest gift she ever got.

“Wo ai… WHAT?!”

Hankyung rolled his eyes. “Wo ai ni. Saranghae.”

Everyone hooted, clapped and cheered as she pressed her lips on his. Forget about verbal replies. Actions are much better than words.

X is for Xiah

“Oh, hell no.” Hankyung made a face as all the members of SNSD, Super Junior and DBSK sat in the rehearsal room. “If ever Sooyoung and I get married and have kids one day, there is no way I’m naming our son Xiah.”

“Hyung, you’re mean!” Junsu pouted, causing Eunhyuk to gag on his soda. “Xiah is a good name.”

Yoochun arched an eyebrow. “On what planet?”

Junsu rolled his eyes. “Just don’t cross out the option yet, hyung. My name is a very nice name.”

Hankyung exchanged a look with Sooyoung. They did love Junsu a lot but there was no way they will name for their future son Xiah.

Y is for YoungHank

They were known popularly as SooKyung among many name combinations. But of all the different combinations of his and Sooyoung’s name, he never encountered YoungHank before.

And he happened to find it on the first page of her new diary.

Z is for Zhou Mi

For the first time in front of a national audience – actually international audience thanks to Youtube – Super Junior M’s Zhou Mi admits that he has a crush on SNSD’s Choi Sooyoung. What Super Junior M didn’t know that the camera suddenly focuses on Hankyung, showing a scowl on his face. The rest of Super Junior members, who were watching the live streaming of the show in their dorm, all howled in laughter.

They knew that Zhou Mi’s crush on Sooyoung was just an innocent one and they also knew that Hankyung knew that. But from what they knew so well of Hankyung, he didn’t like to share things – or people – that are precious to him. And that includes his wife who was five months pregnant with their first child
