Sooyoung and Kris's ABC

ABC

A is for Accident

He spent how many years of his life dreaming, working hard to be a singer.

But at this moment, that meant nothing to him.

Not caring that he was supposed to be in training at this time, Kris ran into the hospital, making a beeline for the nurse’s station. Getting the necessary information at the startled woman who couldn’t help but gawk at him, the Chinese native ran down the hall, coming to a screeching halt outside the room that he was told to be Choi Sooyoung’s. Not bothering to knock – how could anyone expect him to act all proper when he’s this worried – he burst into the room; his eyes soon locking with her surprised ones.

“Wu Fan?”

“Thank God.” He let the words roll of his tongue as he approached the bed to hug her, mindful of her lower back.

B is for Buffalo

“Wu Fan?”

“Yes?”

“How do you roll like a buffalo?”

“…Shut up.”

C is for Casual

“These are so good!” Sooyoung shrieked happily, beaming at the take out noodles in her hands as if she had just fallen head over heels in love with it. “I’m the shikshin but how come I don’t even know this restaurant? They have good Chinese food! The best even!”

“Marry me and I’ll bring you to all the places with good Chinese food.” Kris laughed.

“When?”

He fell silent; the look on her face telling him she was not fooling around with him.

D is for Debut

“What if I mess up my lines or what if I dance the wrong step or what if no one likes us or–”

“Hyperventilating isn’t going to do you any good, Wu Fan.”

“But…”

“Go.” Sooyoung all but pushed him into the van where the rest of the EXO-M members were waiting; said van taking them to the airport to prepare for their first live performance. “The plane waits for nobody… so does a debut.”

He rolled his eyes at that, gripping the door handle. “You’re very supportive, aren’t you?”

The rest of the boys could only watch as Sooyoung dropped a kiss on a forehead, winking at the stunned Kris. “Of course I am. Good luck.”

Tao managed to pull him just as she slammed the door shut.

E is for EXO

“So you guys are going to be called EXO?”

“Yep.” Kris nodded, popping the p for effect.

Sooyoung fell silent in thought. “And it was taken from exoplanet?”

“So you guys are supposed to be what? Aliens?”

“YAH!”

F is for Foreigner

Sooyoung stared wide-eyed at her surroundings. The place was familiar to her thanks to their numerous concerts there but she still would undoubtedly get lost if she were to be left alone. That wasn’t the case though as she was there for vacation. She still felt pretty much out of place though.

“That was how I felt when I first went to Korea.” Kris spoke softly from her side, smiling at the place he called home.

She couldn’t help but appreciate him and everything he went through even more.

G is for Gee

“Oh, hell no.”

“C’mon, Wu Fan.” Sooyoung pouted. “If EXO-K could dance Sorry Sorry, what’s wrong with EXO-M dancing to Gee?”

“Uh… Because we could dance to Mirotic or something?” He arched an eyebrow. “Besides, dancing to Gee is more of Kyuhyun hyung’s thing than mine.”

The tall brunette huffed, folding her arms over her chest. “Well, Kyu oppa does make a better looking Sooyoung than you.”

“Wait. What? I’m supposed to be you?”

“I thought you didn’t want to.”

“Teach me the steps.”

H is for Hankyung

Kris bowed and talked respectfully to the person beside him whenever he had to… but that was only because of three reasons. One, his parents raised him well. Two, the other guy was much older than he was. Three, he didn’t want to risk losing his job or getting yelled at because of unprofessionalism. But if the time and place were different, Kris would probably struggle being nice to a certain Han Geng. He knew that his sunbae had it much harder when he was still in SM and he couldn’t blame the latter of wanting to get out.

But how Sooyoung, Hankyung’s then girlfriend and Kris’s current girlfriend, suffered the consequences was something the young EXO leader wasn’t happy about.

I is for Ian

“I don’t get what’s up with people these days giving their children English names.” Heechul shook his head as all  Super Junior, SNSD, DBSK, SHINee, f(x) and EXO members tried to squeeze their faces into the window of the nursery to get a good view of the latest addition to the second generation of the SM Town family.

“Yah, what’s wrong with having an English name?” Jessica arched an eyebrow. “Besides, Ian’s mother is Korean and his father is Canadian-Chinese. He has a Chinese name as well as a Korean one. What’s wrong with having an English one?”

“Besides, Sooyoung always talked about how Wu Fan looks like a vampire… and Ian Somerhalder does play a vampire.” Leeteuk reminded him. “Now quit complaining.”

J is for Jisoo

“Who does this little kid think he is, acting like he’s known her all his life and they’re close and–”

“Yah, hyung!” Sehun pouted from his spot on the floor. “He’s probably around my age and I don’t think we still qualify as little kids anymore.”

Kris scowled at the TV monitor, flashing the latest episode of the show SNSD and The Dangerous Boys. “I do not like that Jisoo kid.”

K is for Kris

“Hey, Wu Fan.”

“How come you don’t call me Kris?”

Sooyoung blinked. “What?”

Kris shrugged his shoulders as casually as he could. “Everyone calls me that lately.”

“But you’re Wu Fan.”

“My real name is Li Jiaheng.” He reminded her.

“But you were Wu Fan before you became Kris… and before you decided to tell me your real name. So you’ll always be Wu Fan to me.”

L is for Leader

“You’re the leader?”

“Yeah.” Kris rubbed the back of his neck as they remained seated on the floor of the practice room. “I just hope no one expects me to be like Teuk hyung and Yunho hyung. I don’t do the umma thing very well.”

Sooyoung smirked. “People are just gonna say how your children look better than you.”

“YAH!”

Sooyoung found him handsome to be honest… but it wasn’t like she’d ever tell him of that fact.

M is for MAMA

“Wu Fan.”

Kris looked up from his iPhone. “Yeah?”

“Can you recite the lyrics of MAMA for me, please?” Sooyoung flopped on the vacant space on the couch beside him.

He blinked. “Why?”

“Because I keep hearing things like magnanimous and it just doesn’t make sense.”

“Uh… that’s because it’s anonymous, not magnanimous.”

Sooyoung knew that. She just needed an excuse to sit beside him.

N is for Noona

“Wu Fan, this is Choi Sooyoung. She is going to debut soon as a member of Girls’ Generation.”

He was never one to lose his composure; but at that moment he took all his willpower not to gawk openly at her. “It’s nice to meet you, noona.” He bowed, mentally getting annoyed of how accented his Korean was.

Sooyoung smiled, noticing his slight discomfort with the language he was still learning and opting to use what little English Tiffany and Jessica had taught her. “Just Sooyoung. Not noona.”

O is for Oppa

“Oppa!”

A five year old Ian Wu tidily put his things on the sofa before kneeling down and opening his arms. “I’m home!”

“Oppa!” Christine Wu shrieked happily, wiggling out of her mother’s grasp to run to her older brother. “Did Ian oppa miss Christine in school?”

He affectionately pinched his three year old sister’s nose. “Of course, I did.”

Kris, having just entered the house and tossing his car keys to the nearby table smiled in content at the sight of his two children; his eyes soon locking with those that belonged to the woman who gave them to him.

P is for Proposal

It was to everyone’s astonishment during an SM Town Concert that Kris proved that he could now add the Japanese language to his arsenal of languages he could speak. It was going to be useful for Japanese concerts… or so he lamely reasoned when he told his manager he wanted to learn the language. It was more because he wanted a better way to properly propose to a certain Japanese-speaking SNSD member than just joking about Chinese food.

So in front of thousands of fans and his SM Town sunbaes, Kris sang his own Japanese translated version of Super Junior’s Marry U.

Q is for Quietly

Sometimes Kris wished he entered SM Entertainment earlier.

That way he wouldn’t have to fall far behind Choi Sooyoung’s long list of admirers.

She had been with them longest and thus, his chances are getting slimmer and slimmer.

He didn’t need to be vocal about his affections for her. He was content with liking her quietly… for now.

R is for Running

“Damn it!” Kris yelled in English, scowling at the now broken car in front of them. Of all days a car could break down on him, it just had to be on the day of his wedding. “I have to get there before she does!”

“Chinese please, gege.” Tao reminded him, watching as the driver tried in vain to fix the vehicle. “What are we going to do now?”

Xiumin ran a hand down his face, turning his head and finding a motorcycle renting shop. “I think that will work.”

Kris’s jaw dropped. “You have to be kidding.”

“If you want to run, gege, it’s up to you.” Chen rolled his eyes. “I’ll take my chances on the motorcycle.”

S is for Savior

Every time he screwed up, he lost ounce after ounce of hope until he felt like he had nothing left.

A shaky breath escaped Kris’s lips as he leaned against the wall, sliding down until he slumped on the floor. He was so close to his dream… much closer than he was before. Why did he feel like he was slipping? Were all the sacrifices worth it? Was every drop of sweat, every drop of his tears going to be rewarded? He wasn’t sure anymore.

“Wu Fan.”

He didn’t have a time to blink as he felt his arms suddenly full; a pair of arms wrapped around him. Sooyoung helped him slowly to his feet, pulling away to gaze into his eyes. He was sure he had such a broken look in them but it was like she could see past it and look at the part of him he felt like he had been losing.

“You’ll be fine.”

If she hadn’t come to save him, he doubted he would be. For that, he would always be grateful to her.

T is for Tears

Kris and crying usually never go in the same sentence.

Ever since he was given the responsibility of being leader and being the eldest member of EXO, he knew he had to always keep it together. Eleven other boys depended on him now. It was tough, having to be like that but he survived for the others’ sake. He had to always be strong because even when there was nothing else he could give, he still had to.

But today was different.

Today he was going to cry for everything that his life has been, for every success and for every failure.

Today he was going to cry for all that led him to where he was, standing before the altar and watching as Sooyoung walked down the aisle.

Today he was going to cry because being so damn happy because he's marrying the only girl he ever loved.

U is for Unnie

It was a picture perfect scene.

Kris was on the armchair, reading song sheet after song sheet as EXO was preparing for their latest album. Ian was on the carpeted floor; the top half of his body propped on the coffee table as he did his homework. Sooyoung had just entered with a tray of mugs of steaming hot chocolate with Christine trailing behind her with a smaller tray of sweets. In the midst of all, one year old Samantha stood inside her crib; her small hands on edge of her crib to help her stay standing. Her chocolate doe-like eyes fell on the tray her sister had just set on the table.

“U-Un… U-Unnie…”

The song sheet in Kris’s hand fell to his lap. Ian looked up from his homework. Christine nearly dropped her brownie. Sooyoung nearly spilled hot chocolate on her husband.

It was the first clear word the maknae could say other than umma and appa.

V is for VTR

He was close to Choi Sooyoung; no doubt about that. They were comfortable around each other and well… they could be called friends. But that didn’t mean he didn’t have butterflies in his stomach when it came to working with her for the Girls’ Generation concert VTR. With Sooyoung looking as beautiful as she did once she stepped out of the dressing room, no one could really blame him.

W is for Wu Fan

“Wu Fan. Wu Fan. Wu Fan. Wu Fan. Wu Fan. Wu Fan. Wu Fan. Wu Fan.”

Kris made a face. “Is there something funny with my name that you’re making it sound like it’s a tongue twister?”

“I like saying it.” Sooyoung shrugged. “Li Jiaheng is such a mouthful, you know.”

He didn’t bother replying. He liked hearing her say his name too.

X is for X-Ray

Kris could only sigh as Sooyoung continuously fidgeted in her seat as they waited for her doctor to finish studying the x-ray of her tailbone. Today, she was going to find out if she was going to get the go signal for her to start with the preparations for SNSD’s next album and although she wouldn’t say it, the results really worried her. She wouldn’t want to be the cause of their comeback’s delay and Kris knew it.

“Congratulations, Ms. Choi. You’re good to go.”

Instead of hugging the doctor as he expected she would, Kris could only blink as what the doctor expected happened next.

Smiling in gratitude, Kris hugged her back.

Y is for Yearn

“How long will you be gone?”

“Two weeks… Three weeks at most.”

“That long?”

“Don’t miss me too much, Wu Fan. I’m still here.” She laughed. “Besides, you’re going to do this soon too.”

Kris smiled at the thought of being on the same stage as Sooyoung, wanting almost desperately for it to happen sooner.

Time should really move faster.

Z is for Zoo

Kris wasn’t sure what to feel when Sooyoung dragged him all the way to the zoo just so they could take a picture with a buffalo.
