“How can you be so clumsy?”

Urghhhh…

“Just shut it Tae”

It was a chilly day in New York. The wind blows to every part of the street, causing the people to shivers. But that doesn’t stop them from going to places that their heart and mind desires. It was 830 in the morning, yet it doesn’t feel like it, as the clouds clouded the sunny sun from shining through every crook of the city.

“Darn it, why does the hospital have to be crowded at this moment? Can’t people just be unwell another day?” the shorty of them two spoke, creating airs from her small mouth.

“Taeyeon, there are thousands of people in the city. Don’t you think it’s a bit ridiculous for wanting the hospital to be free today just because you wanted to and let them be sick again tomorrow?”

“Stop being a smarty-pants, we wouldn’t be here if you were actually using your brain when you climb the darn ladder”

Both girls took an empty seat near the counter after they took their number to see the doctor. As they sit in silence, their eyes automatically skims people around them, buzzing back and forth. The doctors and the nurses’ storms from one room to another and the phone doesn’t seems to have a break from ringing every five minutes. The sounds of wailing and grunting echoed in their ears, and it wasn’t a pleasant sound that they could muster.

“I don’t think I want to date doctors” Taeyeon says out of a sudden

“Why?”

“I mean, look at them…” stating the obviousness of the doctors who seems to dash in front of them numerous times “I think I saw that doctor went through four different doors”

“You counted?”

Taeyeon nodded “If I were to be engaged to a doctor one day, I don’t think I would see my husband at home that much”

“True, so… doctors out of the list then?” Yuri smiles

“Definitely…” plausible pause “Whoa, don’t you feel like you’re a part of greys anatomy at this point?”

Yuri shook her head “Greys anatomy? Seriously Tae?”

“Hey! Don’t mock me, just so you know greys anatomy is a great story that portrays a life of doctors and how they save…”

“Cut the crap, you’re so gay”

Taeyeon smack the back of her best friend’s head “Watching greys anatomy doesn’t make you gay dimwit. Plus, you’re watching Pretty Little Liars which definitely makes you gayer than watching some doctors’ series”

“Excuse me, is this seat occupied?”

Both girls turn to look at the owners of the voice.

There she stood, in front of them. A tall slender girl, who seems much younger than the both of them. The letter possess a straight brown tresses, big eyes that scream ADORABLE, chubby cheeks that wailing asking to get pinch by passerby and not to mention a heavily calmness surrounding her. On her right side, it appears to be another Asian girl, who owns a short boyish cut haired, slant eyes, particularly cute small lips, pale skin and obvious tomboyish attitude.

“Sorry to interrupt you miss, but, is this seat taken?” the other girl who owns a boyish attitude asks once more.

“Oh, no, there’s no one sitting here. Please do take it” Taeyeon smiles

Yuri couldn’t help but smiles at the younger girl too. It’s just that, she has an effable aura. Her serene face and manners was truly… grasping the tan girl’s attention. So little action yet so, deep impact.

“Thank you”

A few hours ago....

The led light on the office phone, keeps on beeping causes the young lawyer to stop reading new cases files and put it aside.

“Miss. Seo, Miss. Novak is in line two” her assistant, Brittany’s voice echoed.

“Okay, thanks Brittany”

After almost an hour on the phone, Seohyun lean her body back against the chair whilst rubbing her temple. It has been a hectic starts for her. Starting a law firm is not easy as it seem, especially for a newbie. Why did she ever wanted to build a career in a foreign land was still a mystery for her….. Scratch that, she knew darn well why she did that. That was because of YoonA. Everything that had happen in her life after the death of her parents revolves around the doe eyed photographer. There is nothing she could do about it unfortunately.

“How is it, I’m a million miles away from you, yet you managed to make me crazy Yoong?”

Knock! Knock!

“Come in”

The smell of green tea and freshly made bakery fill her nostrils. Seohyun tilt her head aside, taking a closer look on her door.

A few seconds later, one familiar girl makes her way in, with a ridiculously big smile on her face.

“Hiii…. Pretty girl. I brought you breakfast”

“Hwayoung-sshi” Seohyun couldn’t help but smile

Her sassy neighbor has been her friend ever since they met a few days ago. The girl was the ultimate talkative person that she has ever encountered, aside from YoonA of course. Both of them were very different… emphasize on the VERY… nevertheless, Seohyun found that Hwayoung is interesting in a way.

“Seriously?” Hwayoung kink an eyebrow

“Pardon?”

The boyish girl shook her head and makes herself comfortable on the chair opposite the young lawyer “Drop the honorific Seo, this aint’ Korea, plus, it makes me sounds old”

Instead of offended by the bluntness of the girl, Seohyun chuckles “First off, you’re hip-hop twang , second, I just met you…”

Before Seohyun could finish her sentence, the letter jumps of her seat and starts singing

“Hey! I just met you,

This is crazy,

So here’s my number,

So call me maybe”

Continuous laughter fills the air,

“Oh my Goodness, you’re like the first person ever to laugh at my lamest pick up line” Hwayoung beems in happiness

Seohyun eyes twitch as her headache return knocking her brain hard. The other girl seems to notice, quickly went by her side.

“Hey, you’re okay?”

Seohyun nodded a little, not wanting her new profound friend slash neighbor to worry over her petty headache. 

“Are you having headache again?” the letter asks once more with worried tone lace in her voice “and please don’t lie to me”

The young lawyer lets a light sigh, nodding at the letter’s assumption.

“How long has it been?”

“it’s been two days, I might overwork or something, it’s no big deal”

 Instead of agreeing the girl in front of her, Hwayoung took the letter’s brown trench coat and her bag from the couch. Then, the girl stood by Seohyun side and offers the girl her hand.

“Where are we going?”

“Somewhere” Hwayoung says, helping the letter putting on her burberry brown trench coat. She took the liberty holding Seo’s bag and as well as her own and make their way outside the suffocating four walls office. The boyish girl walks towards Brittany and said something that Seohyun couldn’t decipher.

“Well… this ”

Hwayoung’s face scrunches in displeased as they walk into the front lobby. Masses of people flooding the white area.

“I’m okay Hwayoung, there’s no need to be in here”

“Having a continuous headache for two consecutive days is not normal. We need to get you check”

“What are you doing?” Seohyun asks, as she notice that the other girl keeps on moving around, scrutinizing the people around them.

“Empty seats”

“Pardon?”

“I’m looking for empty seats for us to seat on, aha! There it is, come on, lets go”

Seohyun gives a small smile. She was internally grateful to have Hwayoung right here with her now. She never knew she needed someone to be with her. This is quite nice actually, not having her mind worked out over the impossible relationship that YoonA and her has. Hwayoung might be a great help to distract herself from YoonA’s issue.  

“Hey baby”

Hwayoung halt her steps, and turns to look at the letter who suddenly calls her by the nick name that she had made up when they first met each other. She smiles at that thought.

“Yes?”

[Present]

“Is this going to take long?”

“how am I supposed to know? I’m not the doctors” Taeyeon answers

Yuri sighs, leaning back “Let’s get out of here, I’m tired and I want to sleep”

Taeyeon nodded “I’ll call Jiyeon, and ask her to come and pick us up” The shorty stood and makes her way outside the hallway, wanting to get rid of the noises around them.

Meanwhile,

“Jessie!! Seats!”

“Thank God, I don’t think I’m able to stand any longer, my head is killing me”

Both Korean America girls make their way towards what it seems to be the un-occupied seats, and still not noticing the familiar sunkiss girl upfront.

“Yuri?”

Both Yuri and Jessica head shots up, as they hear Tiffany’s voice.

“Tiffany…Jessica?”

Tiffany drags Jessica to meet Yuri “How’s the leg?” Tiffany asks, whilst forcing her bestfriend to take a seat beside Yuri. “Jess, seat”

“Uh, fine I guess” Yuri answers with her voice trembles a bit

“Thank goodness, I assume that you’re getting your leg check? Jessie’s too. She has been whining about her headache”

“Oh…”

Where’s Taeyeon when Yuri needs her?

The phone in Tiffany’s back pocket starts blaring, and she immediately throws an apologetic smile on both Yuri and Jessica.

Awkward

Yup, that what the air feels like right now.

Veryyy awkward.

“Still having fever?”

Unknowingly Yuri has the guts to starts a conversation between them, which Jessica was quite taken aback. How would she respond to that? By being her b!tchy way or, just… by being herself?

“okay I guess. I heard about your leg”

Yup… Jessica Jung and Kwon Yuri opt to being civilized around each other.

Why?

Just because.

Yuri was contemplated to ask other questions. She was dying to ask questions that has been clouded her minds for years.

What happened to them?

Did Yuri hurt her feelings?

Why is there suddenly no ‘us’ anymore?

Before she could even asks those questions, she feels a heavy weight on her shoulder. The smell of the familiar strawberry shampoo fills her senses. The smell that she have missed for dearest times. Her heart was pounding really fast.

Before she knew it, the brown head girl falls upon her lap. Then, Yuri realizes that Jessica’s fainted.
