CHAPTER XXV

“Are you ready to go home?” Chairman Jeon asked Jungkook who is standing by the window and staring outside. Jungkook did not respond. “You’re only admitted for two days. Don’t be sad if she didn’t come to visit. She might be busy,” Chairman Jeon tapped on his shoulder.

“Dad,” he called. “Should I give up?”

“Have you tried your best? Do you think you’ve tried your best?” Chairman Jeon questioned him. “If you think you have, think again. She waited for you for how many years? You have rejected her for how many times? Do you really think you’ve done your best that you’re ready to give up now for her? What she did isn’t much compared to what you did, you know that right?” Chairman Jeon lectured him.

“Are you going against me too now?” Jungkook look at his dad.

Chairman Jeon laughed.

“I’m not siding her. Of course, I’ll cheer on my son. But son, you have to remember, it’s not easy for her too. Do you think she won’t feel anything when she sees you begging her, kneeling and fainted in front of her, crying over her shoulder, admitted into the hospital because of her? Do you think she feels nothing? I don’t think so. It’s also hard for her. Let’s just assume that she no longer loves you, I believe she will still care about you after what had happened because you are someone she used to really love,” Chairman Jeon said.

Jungkook look down.

“Don’t give up, Jungkook. Fight for your love. Don’t end up like me and your mother. We ended up like this because I never fought for her,” Chairman Jeon told him.

“Dad,” he called again. “Can you send me to her house?”

(doorbell rings)

(knocks on door)

“Chaeyoung-ah, open the door pleaseeee,” Jungkook mumbled to himself.

“Why are you here?” someone rebuke him. He startled.

“Oh- Jennie-shi,” Jungkook said as he turned around. “No one’s home?” he asked.

“Yeah, everyone’s have things to do. You’ve just discharged?” Jennie asked him. Jungkook smile and nods. “Oh- why are you here then? If it’s about the wedding, V has already taken over right?” Jennie asked again.

“No, not that. I wanted to meet Chaeyoung,” he’s being honest.

“She’s not here. She went out this morning. Probably out with your friend because they need to view the venue,” Jennie told him. “But since they’re working right now, it’s best if you did not disturb them,” she reminded.

Jungkook smile.

“I was just saying you know,” Jennie said.

“I know,” Jungkook replied.

“O…kayyy,” Jennie said again. “I’m just going to get my things inside and left again. Are you going to wait here again like that day? I’m afraid if anything happens again, we won’t be kind enough to send you to the hospital,” Jennie warned him.

“Can you let me know if she’s home? I mean, Jiyeon,” Jungkook asked.

“Alright,” Jennie said.

Jungkook nods. He left Jennie at the front door and walked back to his car. He took out his phone and texted V. ‘Take care of my daughter and Chaeyoung. I’m counting on you, V.’ was what he wrote. V immediately called him after receiving the text message.

“What are you saying? I’m at the office,” V said as he answered the call.

“I thought so,” Jungkook said.

“What do you mean?” V asked.

“Nothing. I’ll see you later,” Jungkook said and ended the call. “Chaeyoung-ah, if I can’t see your face, I’m fine with just seeing your house,” Jungkook said to himself.

Jungkook tilt his head and looked over at Rosé’s room window from inside his car. I know you’re inside, he said in his heart.

(phone ringing)

Jungkook startled. He looked at his phone screen. It’s a home number. He picked up the call. “Leave,” is the only word the person over the phone said.

“Chae-“

“I want you to leave now or I’ll call the cops,” Rosé said, not letting Jungkook to finish his sentence.

“I’ll leave,” he said. “But come out for a while, I want to talk,” Jungkook asked. “Just for a while,” he sounds like begging.

Rosé cut the call. Jungkook sighed. As he about to drive away, he saw Rosé comes out from the front door. Jungkook immediately turned off the engine and walked out from his car to Rosé.

“What do you want?” Rosé asked.

“I miss you so much,” he blurt out.

Rosé glares at him.

“Do you want to eat something? Let’s go out and bring Jiyeon to eat. You can eat anything you want! My treat,” Jungkook said excitedly. “Should we go and play something as well? Or maybe you want to go shopping?”

“I don’t want anything. I just want you to leave,” Rosé sighed.

Jungkook hold Rosé’s hand.

“Let’s get married,” he said.

Rosé immediately turned looking at him, frowning. She pulled back her hand.

“Let’s get married,” he said again.

“Are you out of your mind?” she almost shouted. “Leave. Leave now!” she pushed Jungkook away. He resisted. He won’t move away. “Yah Jeon Jungkook, leave now!” she chased him away. Jungkook pulled her into a hug.

“I want to marry you. I want to have more kids with you. I want to build a family with you. I want to grow old with you. I want to fulfil all your cravings during pregnancy. I want to be with you when you deliver our babies. I want to do all that with you,” he hugs Rosé even tighter when Rosé struggle to tried to push him away. “I am desperate. I am very desperate right now,” he whispers to her ears.

“You can’t,” Rosé replied short.

Jungkook slowly broke the hug.

“I know I can’t….” he said. “….I can’t for now. But I will try really hard to make the can’t into can. I will wait for you no matter how long it takes. I will win your heart no matter how hard you resists. If you run away from me, I will chased after you. If you push me into the sea, I will swim back to you. If you push me away, I will pull you with me. I will be together with you no matter what,” he sincerely said.

“Why are you doing this to me? Please….I beg you. Please give up,” Rosé begged him.

“I’m sorry, Chae. I can’t. I can’t give up on you. Not now, not later, not forever. I’ve done it twice, I won’t do it for the third time,” Jungkook said.

“Daddy!” Jiyeon shouted from behind. Rosé turned back to see Jiyeon running towards then right into Jungkook’s hug. Jungkook lift her up. “Mommy said you’re sick. Are you okay now?” Jiyeon put her tiny little hand on his forehead.

Jungkook smile.

“I’m fine! I’m a strong man,” Jungkook chuckled.

“Yeay! I’m glad you’re fine. Mommy is worried sick for you! Now that you’re okay, can you bring me out to play?” Jiyeon giggles.

“Of course! Should we bring Mommy as well?” Jungkook glance at Rosé.

“Yeayyy!!” Jiyeon exclaimed. “Mommy let’s go to the sea!” Jiyeon excitedly asked. Rosé looked away.

“Do you want to go to the sea?” Jungkook asked.

“You know the answer already,” she said, sighing.

“I promise it’s just a one day trip. I have to win your heart now, I can’t do something that will make you drive away from me, right?” Jungkook convinced her and her head.

“I didn’t say I want?” her lips pouted. She looked away and cross her arm.

Jungkook winked at his daughter and giggles.
