Flashback

“Honey, look at our Yuri, she’s so pretty” Yuri’s dad lightly touched the little baby in his arms

“She’s just as pretty as her Appa”

Yuri’s dad gave a peck on his wife

“Thank you so much for giving me such a beautiful child” He hugged the latter.

One Month Later

“Yuri-ah, let’s go surprise your Appa” Yuri’s mom gave a smile at her daughter.

“Yuri, look. It’s your father over there” She pointed

Her husband was waving endlessly on the other side of the street.

She was walking across the sidewalk until she heard a car coming towards her way.

Yuri and her mother were laying in the middle of the road as blood was flowing out of their wounds

“Honey! Please wake up!” Her husband was crying

“Someone, please help my wife and child!” He yelled.

Ambulance sirens were going off.

“Doctor, you have to save my family” His voice cracked while holding onto the Doctor’s hand

“Sir, you must calm down first”

After a while of impatiently waiting, Yuri’s dad quickly got off his seat when the doctor came out.

“Doctor, how are they” He was restless.

“Well… good news and bad news. The child is alive, but your wife… she wasn’t able to make it..” He said in sorrow.

“N-no...No! This can’t be happening” Tears were falling uncontrollably.

4 years later

“Appa, how come everyone has an Umma, but I don’t?” Yuri looked up at the tall figure who was standing next to her.

“Umma has gone somewhere far now, she’ll come back. Just wait ok?” He gave a peck on her cheek

“You don’t have a mom you little loser!” A girl yelled

“Bastard, go die” Another one joined in while the others were laughing.

“S-stop..” Yuri was holding her knees while crying

Yuri was walking home with tears in her eyes

“Yuri, what happened to you?” Her dad kneeled down

“Appa..” She hugged her dad tightly and started to cry even harder.

“The kids at school say bad things about me because I don’t have a mom” She hiccuped while speaking.

“Yuri-ah..” He caressed her little head.

“You have to stay strong for Umma. Don’t let the kids bully you, okay?” He wiped her tears away with his thumb.

“Stay strong, hwaiting” He clenched his fist.

“Hwaiting” She weakly clenched hers.

The Next Day

“Hey bastard, go die in a hole” A boy insulted.

Yuri went up to him and threw a punch.

“Don’t you ever say that again!” She was rapidly hitting him.

“Yuri, please stop this instant” A teacher broke them apart

“You two are coming with me to the office this instance”

“I was called that Yuri got into a fight” Yuri’s dad rushed inside the school building

“Yes, she’s in the office right now”

Yuri’s dad took a seat next to her daughter

“Yuri, what happened,” He asked worriedly

“You told me to stay strong for Umma, so I did” Yuri looked down.

“Honey, I told you to stay strong, not hit other people” He patted her head.

The boy came in the office with bruises all over his face.

Yuri’s dad was stunned by the damage Yuri had caused.

“You better get that kid away from my child” His mom yelled angrily.

“I’m terribly sorry, my daughter didn’t mean to”

The woman was abusing him and his daughter, but they stayed quiet the whole entire time.

At home

“Dad, I want Umma” Yuri said with tears in her eyes

“I want Umma too” He hugged her

1 Year Later

“Dad, who’s that?” She pointed at the women

“She’s your Umma” He slid his arm around her shoulder

“Umma!? I can finally have a mom now
